Social distancing, and face masks are a must. My husband and I had some errands to run when he got off of work, so since we were in the area, we stopped at Jersey Mike's Subs. I didn't go in, since I was kind of tired, but I wish I did. My husband ordered 3 giant subs. LOL! I requested a regular sub, meaning 1/2 of a foot king and he came back with a foot long. But this sub was really huge and lots of meat. My gosh! Lol I don't eat much, but my husband and my son does. So I had the Italian sub, with provolone cheese, and light lettuce. Mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. Cut into 4. Our son had ham and Turkey with light lettuce, pickles and mayonnaise. Cut into 3. My husband had a club sub. He always get all the works. I don't like tomatoes or onions, but he does. He had bacon on his sub as well. Let me tell you, this Jersey Mike's Subs is super clean, friendly employees, and very attentive. We will definitely be back, but I will make sure that I get 1/2 of a sub. My husband went overboard. I was laughing so hard, and he was too. :-) Also, this location doesn't take any coupons but from Jersey Mike's. I checked in on Yelp, and when I did it said free drink and chips with a sub order. This was my go to location for subs but the last 2 orders have been disappointing. I didn't complaint about my previous visit as I understand mistakes can happen. Today's visit, ordered online as I usually do, and when I got home, my giant sub had off color roast beef and very strong beef taste. This is unacceptable when you have paid over $20 for a sub. With it being 0.3 miles in front of my apartment, this location is always a hit or miss for me. I can see the aggravation when I request for my hoagie to be warmed up a little in the microwave. The team at store #5025 were phenomenal. I was there to pick up my order for the doordash happy hour deal. As I got there, there was a line out the store and inside was packed. Salina was calm, stern and above all else fair. She tried her best to call out and fill as many orders as possible. The team, Tae, Alma, Lucy, and Anna were diligently making as many orders as possible. I did not hear any of them complain about the influx of orders. Salina did not once get fed up with rude customers demanding to get their orders. She and her team should be commended for their achievement. I personally want to thank them all. 10/10 that I would recommend this place. This location has the best staff and service. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating on what you like to add or do to your sandwich. The service is amazing! The food quality is better than other sub shops I've been. All the meats are freshly cut to order and the veggies are fresh as well. Not only have I come in to grab a quick lunch or dinner, but I've used them for catering at work. And I love them. I really wish that Yelp broke things down by service, food, ambiance, etc... I really do. I visited this location today and the lady that fixed my sub didn't leave me with a good impression. It's almost as if she had to force herself to say hello. As she's asking me what I want, she kept looking outside at her employee - he was outside conversing with someone. Ok.... the glancing continued as she is fixing my sandwich. I didn't like the fact that: 1. I do not frequent Jersey Mike's often. She had a very "matter of fact" attitude when I changed my mind and said I wanted the turkey with provolone instead of just regular turkey. "It already comes with provolone." Ummm, when I asked for my sandwich, I just specified turkey. She didn't ask if I wanted cheese or not. Anywho... 2. I asked her to cut my mini sandwich in half. Walked in at 7:50pm to a "we're closed" greeting. I look at my watch and the lady says "do you want a cold sub or hot?" So I asked "are y'all open or not?" Update: Shortly after posting my review about this location's horrible food experience - I received an email from the owner, apologizing for the incident and offering to make up for it. I'm all about second chances, so I accepted and thanked him for reaching out bc he honestly didn't have to do that. So fast forward to today, I stopped in to get a tuna sub in a tub. The service was immaculate and friendly as always. The food was pretty good as well - I don't think you can really mess up tuna. All in all, I will say they have redeemed themselves. Worse thing about Jersey Mikes is that they are overpriced, (14.00 for a large), and are basically made up of bread, and a lot of mayo. The sandwiches are good , but I think ill do better, if I ever go back, by ordering a large, but asking them, to just put it all on one half of the bread. Then that would be a real Jersey/NY hero.... although I can say, a worker at the Smyrna location made me an incredible hero a few weeks ago just because I had my Steelers jersey on, and we had an interesting conversation about the Falcons and football. I don't typically have the time to escape the office for an off-campus lunch. As such, when I do have the luxury of doing so, it needs to be somewhere with quick service and satisfying food. That being said, Jersey Mike's fits the bill on both fronts. Food: Jersey Mike's offers both hot and cold subs and wraps in three different sizes: small (~8"), medium (~10"), and large (~12"). They offer a fairly decent selection of fresh ingredients that should please most reasonable people. Each sandwich can also be made into a combo for a menial charge, which includes a drink and bag of chips or a cookie. In the end, the offerings are by no means innovative or exceptional, but you really can't expect much from a chain restaurant of this caliber. If comparing to restaurants of the same genre, this place is definitely superior to Subway, but not quite as good as Which Wich. Service: Incredibly efficient, to the point of being robotic. The staff here are well versed in the menu, proficient at preparing each of the offerings, and eager to please. Atmosphereer: Fairly commercial looking, but clean and orderly. As others have noted, this place is incredibly small and cramped. As such, you may have difficulty finding a seat during peak dining hours. Cost: Fairly inexpensive. A small sub will cost you around $5, a medium will cost around $7, and a large will cost around $9. Each sub can be made into a combo for approximately $2 extra. Other: There is ample parking available in front of the entrance. However, the restaurant itself can be difficult to find for first time visitors. I went for lunch today, after not eating here for well over 6 months because of rude service and messing up my order during my pregnancy (horrible combo), and although the service was better my order was still wrong. I ordered a chipotle chicken and cheese sandwich which comes with grilled onions, peppers, and chipotle mayo. The employee asked if I wanted to add anything more to the sub and i replied lettuce and banana peppers. While she was still grilling the meat for the sub I went on to select my chips and checkout, as the cashier asked me my order to which I said the chicken chipotle sub; another employee said to the one who took my order, "she ordered chicken". I said what is she making and he said steak, I said go on and make the steak then. Do not worry about making me a chicken sub, he apologized for the misunderstanding. So once the griller a.k.a the employee who took my initial order brought me my sandwich; I asked was the lettuce and banana peppers on there she said hurriedly yes, everything is on there. I took her at her word (silly me) and left. When I open up my sandwich not only is it missing the lettuce and banana peppers; my bread was wet from her failing to drain the meat enough to not soak the bread. So let's get this straight not only did you make the incorrect order for which YOU took, it also was missing 2 ingredients that you assured me were there, and you chose to haphazardly put it together. Their sandwiches are always good. You can see what the make you the glass is clear showing what they put on your meal, so if you say that they gave you the wrong order than pay close attention. I had a choice and went there on 03/08/2020, even though there was a Subway in the parking lot I was shopping in on other side of street and highway. Upon looking at the prep area, it looked bleak. Hardly any toppings, no olives. Bleeeeeak selection. Ok moving on, I ordered a foot long tuna sub on wheat with salt and pepper. They immediately began making my sandwich directly on the countertop. I asked if it was customary and typical to make it like that and she replied with "yes, it's how we've done it for 14 years... It's been disinfected." So I said wow, my bread is laying on disinfectant. wow, yummy. They proceeded to ring up my order. One pitiful foot long with tuna and chips, no drink. 16.89$ I looked up at the security camera and told Jersey Mike only an imbecile would pay that. I told them I was offended as a consumer and there was no way I would buy it. I asked how they were even still in business and looked around and the place was empty. I could go to Longhorn, or just about anywhere and be way more satisfied with my selection and value. A 16 dollar burger would be delicious. At subway, that same order would have been 5 or 6 bucks or whatever. Absolutely ridiculous. They give you no impression that their ingredients were in any way better or worth the extra price. This is my first yelp review if that says anything: I place a lot of catering orders for work and decided to go with Jersey Mikes on Monday. I ordered online and spent around 75$ on sandwiches. When I came to pick everything up it was ready on time and neatly packed in a box, which was great. i realized I had forgotten to order drinks so I asked for a gallon of tea. I had already paid (and tipped) online already so they wanted $2.50 or so more for the tea. That was fine. I figured a gallon of tea would come with cups but it did not. When I asked for cups & lemons they told me I would have to pay for those too. Another charge to my AMEX for 2$ or so. This is why I usually go to Newks or somewhere with better staff and customer service. These people have no clue about customer service. Any restaurant I usually order from would have never have made me make 2$ additional charges for the tea NONE THE LESS THE cups, jeez. I didn't mind paying for the tea, but you really won't give me cups on the house after spending so much on a catering order? Never going back. They use to pack so much meat on there subs you could almost make 2 subs from it, now they have become just another subway in my opinion I ordered the giant Italian sub that was 9.95 and it only came with 4 slices of ham & 4 slices of the other meats. First of all, Jersey Mikes has the BEST sandwiches hands down. This particular location is consistently awesome. The restaurant is usually pretty crowded during lunch time, but the line moves quickly, and all of the staff seem proficient and fast. We've never had a bad sandwich or issue with our order. We always get the same thing - #2, Mike's Way, no onions, add pickles and mayonnaise. A few years ago, my husband and I were going at least once a week and the staff remembered our order. Then, after not going for almost a year (due to life changes NOT b/c of Jersey's Mike's), we went again, and they STILL remembered us and our order!!! We've gone sporadically over the past couple years, and they continue to remember us! AWESOME customer service in my opinion.
