Would not recommend Jersey Asphalt. Their lack of concern for quality work is the first reason not to hire them. They ran out cap stone for our retaining wall and said they would return when they were in the area. It's been over a year and I haven't heard from them. There should be negative stars for this company. James Gorman and Patrick Burke represent themselves as good paving contractors. You'll get the line "we've been doing this for years." Don't fall for it. They're the worst. They don't stand behind their work and come up with every excuse possible to not return and finish / repair their own jobs. Be sure to measure the width of your project when it's done, out of square work, and paving that's uneven. We've filed a complaint this week with The NJ State Division of Consumer Affairs 1-800-242-5846. We suggest others do as well. You've been warned. They come across as decent business men. We had our driveway repaved this past summer and while the price was fair, we wish we went with another contractor. We stayed off our driveway as instructed for several days (more than instructed actually) and the driveway still pitted from the weight of our cars. So we went from having a cracked driveway to a lumpy driveway. They were quick to answer questions before and during the job, but did not answer their phones once we had a complaint. They did eventually answer their phones and we expressed our concerns about the driveway but nothing was done to remedy the situation. Also, while I understand this is a family owned business, I didn't think it was very professional for the owners' sons to be allowed on the machines and operate them even if they were under supervision. read more

This business which is ran by Patrick has horrible service. The work was terrible and done by workers with little to no experience. My driveway looks horrible after only 3 and Patrick lied to me about multiple things such as stones being laid before the asphalt so it would hold better. He ran out of asphalt so he had to stop in the middle of laying the asphalt to pick up more which made the asphalt that was already poured set wrong. He does not have a commercial size roller so the asphalt isn't packed down enough. He told me he would come back to fix what was messed up and he will not answer my calls. There are many good companies that does asphalt so do your research. If you go with Jersey Asphalt you will regret it. TRUST ME. I've attached photos for everyone's review. read more

You get what you pay for, great salesman, poor craftsman. Crews of 2 children and 2 non english speaking adults. Very young man using a backpack blower had no hearing protection, I offered him mine and he refused. Job completed 95% Patrick came up with excuse after excuse until he just stopped returning emails. I asked what I could buy and apply myself so the work looked complete, he never replied. read more

These people are terrible. Had my driveway paved about a year ago May 2018 and it is already falling apart. Patrick refuses to come back and fix his garbage work even if it is under "warranty". This guy is a good salesman by promising you the world and delivering nothing. This company deserves 0 stars because that is really what their work is like. I would agree with all the other people on his reviews this guy never came prepared, shorted us on materials including using low quality asphalt. The contract said 3 inches of material and I probably got an inch to an inch and a half. I am not sure how this place is still in business or even has a valid license to continue practicing faulty work. I would never recommend this company to anyone even if they are the lowest bid because the work is just that terrible. read more

Wow. This company is unbelievable. They are quick to charge their money but to us as customers it's so easy to ignore our complaints. These people are UNPROFESSIONAL. Please do not use them for your job because it will be a disappointment. They wrecked my driveway and made other damages while doing the job. I got overcharged for a job that I could've done elsewhere cheaper and professional. James and Patrick wow you guys should be ashamed. I too will be calling consumer affairs. It's not right. They do say "we've been doing this for years". Now I have holes and cracks. Plus they said they would dispose of all the garbage... yea right it was thrown by a tree. Don't use these guys! Very unprofessional!! When Patrick the owner asked me for the check up front that was my red flag but I didn't listen. They paved over weeds in driveway & asphalt didn't stick & came up. Now I have holes in driveway & I can't get them back to fix. Now I have to pay someone else to fix it right. Oh yea & good luck getting any warranty. I had to ask for a receipt. I got the amount that says pave drive. Not very professional!!! Stay away from these guys!!! read more

Only did 1/2 of our parking lot and then left but not before they got black tar on our building, sidewalk and son's car. Patrick said he would come the next day to fix the problems but 3 days later he's a no show. We are now in the process of finishing the lot ourselves, and my son has to take his car to a body shop to get the tar off. read more

We hired the company to do a big job, I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy, they did a terrible job and they have no integrity and Patrick B does not stand by his word. The entire job came out awful and the parts of the property that did not have work done got ruined. It looks like a bomb went off and everything is a mess. The workers are very sloppy and left things in such a disgraceful manner. I feel like we were robbed by a bunch of clowns who all are very untalented! When we tried to call and speak with Patrick he got very angry and hung up on my husband. He should be ashamed of himself and his company. I don't know how they are still in business, they are a bunch of pathetic thieves!!! Shame on you Patrick B!!! The job is atrocious, I'm embarrassed of how it looks with a crack in the front of the drive way for all to see and they were supposed to come and fix it and never showed up and we never even received a call. Did my driveway in Nov 2016 and it is already falling apart. I've called several times, left messages for the owner and he has never call back. They got way above the market rate for doing my driveway and have no decency to repair their mistake. Very unethical, shoppers, just be careful. read more
