Note, my insurance info was already provided to assistant and I was scheduled to come in. To my knowledge, it was the Office Manager up front desk along with the assistant who scheduled me. Office manager asks for my Insurance card, looks at and decides (without double checking) that they do not accept my insurance. Mind you, the front lobby is literally a few feet from the front desk and had a full room of clients listening in. This made me very uncomfortable as I felt she was belittling me for no reason at all. I then proceeded to explain that the Assistant ran my insurance and scheduled me to come in, I just wanted a consultation as I needed Jaw surgery asap due to timeline of my Braces. I basically had to convince her to let me be seen as I had taken time off from work for this appointment. Dr. Mogannam stepped in shortly after and was more than happy to take me in for consultation. He did full scans of my Jaw and went over procedure that would take place. I was ecstatic and very optimistic thanks to him. Dr. Mogannam is a very nice, and caring Dr who I can tell takes his profession very seriously. Leaving, the Office Manager changed her tune a bit (knowing now that my insurance would in fact cover) and said she would contact me within a couple of weeks... I went in late January, it is now late April and I have never even heard back from her or anyone from this Office. Thankfully Dr. Bruckman at Stanford took me in and I had a successful surgery April 4th. Please do better Ms. Office Manager.

The whole process was smooth. I called to let them know my sitution and I was given a consultation appointment with Dr. Yoshikane. She was very helpful, knowledgable and informative. She made me feel comfortable. After the consultation appointment, I made an appointment date for the surgery. Mind you, I was awake to pull out my other wisdom teeth at some other office (worst experience ever). However, I was advised to be put to sleep and I was so nervous because I never had any other type of surgery where I needed to be put under. However, it was surgery day. Met with Dr. Yoshikane and team. They were super nice, they let me know what was going to happen and what they were going to do. Just like that, I woke up and it was done! I had a great experience with the team.

Healing and follow-up care went much better than I expected, especially since I'd been bracing for the worst. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is due to one frustrating interaction with the front desk. I had an 11:15 appointment and arrived at 11 to complete my forms. After sitting for about 45 minutes without any update, I overheard another front desk clerk explaining to other patients that the office was running behind. When I went to check in again, I was told the same--that there was a delay and longer-than-usual wait times. I had no issue with the delay itself. What bothered me was learning that the original clerk I'd checked in with at 11 already knew about the backup but never gave me a heads-up. In contrast, the second clerk was transparent and proactive with her updates, which I appreciated. There should be better consistency and communication across the front desk team to keep patients informed and prevent unnecessary confusion. Otherwise, a solid experience that exceeded expectations.

Going in, we were very wary, despite the great reviews and referrals from pediatric dentist and ortho. What resulted was a pain free, near perfect experience. My 14-year old fell asleep within 2 minutes and woke up an hour later with everything done. Numbness which is normal, but shockingly that evening and Day 1 after was the worst that it got: light soreness. Barely even needed ibuprofen. The kid never complained once of pain and looked at me like I was nuts that wisdom teeth extraction was a big deal. Zero trauma, zero pain, post-op appt showed mostly healed and no infections or anything. My only regret was why wasn't Dr Chalak around to do my wisdom teeth extractions 30 years ago? Highly recommended - awesome staff in the front office, back office. Very responsive to any questions or issues both before and after. During that visit, I was told I had four cavities--which completely took me by surprise, as I've never had that many before. Trusting their judgment, I scheduled to have all four filled in the same day. From the moment the new doctor began working on my teeth, it was clear to me she lacked experience. She overfilled my teeth, which left me with an uneven bite and made eating extremely uncomfortable. I had to return the following week to have her fix them. That fix, unfortunately, led to another issue--she over-filed my teeth, and ever since, I've experienced noticeable tooth sensitivity and my newly filled teeth seem to be shorter than before. It has only been a year since I got them and already can tell they need to be replaced. It breaks my heart because I've always taken great care of my teeth, and now I genuinely feel like irreversible damage has been done.
