Fraud via shortcuts.

STAY AWAY! Sneaky and dishonest! We hired Jensen Mechanical to install an AC system in our home. Their bid wasn't the cheapest, but the owner seemed trustworthy, at least initially.. He turned out to be a total cheat and the job was a disaster. It took a month to finish instead of the 3 days we were told it would be, the owner completely screwed up getting the proper permits with the city, lied to us repeatedly saying everything was in order, dragged his feet fixing his paperwork problems, and then argued with the inspector's safety requirement to bolt the AC unit into our roof beams. After refusing to comply and causing even more delays by trying (hiring a consultant) and failing to convince the inspector that the bolt the unit into the roof was unnecessary, he crew ultimately "faked" bolting the unit down to pass the final inspection from the City. Throughout the whole mess, the owner, Ryan Jensen, refused to actually take responsibility for his mismanagement, although he sure could run his mouth with excuses and blaming other people for things that he did wrong. We didn't know the full extent of the lies until we checked this "bolting" after the final inspection. The bolts did go into the wooden AC unit base, but were too short to go all the way through the roof surface and into the roof beams, which is what the inspector had stipulated. (A photo is attached.) Their plan was probably for us to never find out -- but one of his crew admitted that "the bolts are only for show" -- while he stood in front of our front-door home security camera! Now we have a project that is not up to permit standards and serious concerns about what other shortcuts were taken during the install. Is the wiring safe? Were proper materials used?. What Ryan Jensen did was outright FRAUD of a private consumer and to a governmental authority. He has been contacted by our attorney, but has not bothered to reply. Perhaps he is too busy cutting corners and defrauding his next customer. We have video and photo evidence to support our claims, and we will be filing complaints with the CA licensing board, with the Better Business Bureau, seeking remedy with his bond company, filing for actual and punitive damages in court, etc. If Jensen Mechanical was this brazen about lying to the authorities and taking the cheap way out in our case, what other undiscovered shortcuts have they have taken on past jobs, and what will they try to sneak past you if you hire them?

Thank you Ryan, my tenant also thanks you !

I was a new homeowner in 2022 when Vic (the owner) and his company, Elite Comfort Systems, saved my…read morefamily (including the feline members) from sweltering in 100+F degree weather by diagnosing and repairing my air conditioner. Since then, they've serviced the almost 22 year old system at my home, nursing it along. With each semi-annual "check-up" service, they advised me on what I needed to do, and what could wait. When funds were tight, they suggested stopgaps to help. Because of this history, when Alex showed me that my heater was leeching carbon monoxide into my home, I knew I could trust him. While I waited for my appointment, I was provided with space heaters gratis. This IS an independently owned business, and they treat customers like family. Ozzy (Osvaldo) and Anthony installed a new heat pump and air conditioner for me last week. They were at my home three days. Not only were they professional, friendly, and polite, they were also respectful of my home--taking time EVERY day to cover my carpeted areas, covering their boots as they came into and exited the house, and cleaning up any installation debris before they left each day. Ozzy and Anthony discovered that a part of the original system was not going to work as efficiently with the new system (the dampers) given the difference in the size. Ozzy explained the difference to me, noted the cost, and the pros and cons. He didn't pressure me to upgrade the items but he made sure I had enough information to make a decision. At the end of the installation, Ozzy took the time to show me how to use the new digital thermostat controls and gave me tips on how to use the system economically. He provided me information on how to follow up if there were ever any problems. Just like other times, Vic called a few days later to see how things were going (I missed the call, but still...so so kind and thoughtful). It's a lot of money to replace your entire HVAC system, no matter which company you use, but hiring one where you know you can trust the company. Simply put, you'll never have worries about trusting Elite Comfort Systems.

I installed a unit, but apparently I didn't ferrule my lines very well, and it lasted a week. (the…read moreold lines from the previous Chinese unit were 6 inches of copper soldered to aluminum to 6 inches of copper, which gives 4 more places to leak so I didn't use them; that unit's motherboard failed.) They wanted $4,169 to fix my lines (new ferraled lines from the manufacturer are $150, and to refill ($125 in freon) total job one hour for me To redo everything, $8,929 I recently installed in my 2,400-square-foot home a whole new heating and AC system for $24,000. They also wanted to redo my 115 volt lines to 220 volts. This system does NOT run on 220 volts. He mentioned how it uses less electricity. NO, it does not. I'm an electrician. 115 volts, 20 amp is the same as 220 volts, 10 amps because 220 volt is 2-115 volt lines, which are 10 amps each line = 20 amps. and he said my water drain wasn't installed properly, but it was according to the manufacturer. (just drain it outside, period.) My unit from 'Heat and Cool' was only $400 without the AC lines; this is the 4th unit I've installed and only one that failed my installation. it comes with a 1-year warranty, 5/7 if you get an ac guy to install it and 7/10 for an extra $150 Well, Elite isn't going to slap their sticker on this unit, so they will lose future business. That's NOT good business; that's simply greed

What I appreciated most was that he didn't just start replacing parts. He thoroughly diagnosed the system, explained what he was testing, and walked me through the results. He showed me that the capacitor was testing low, the contactor was worn and pitted, and even performed a megger test on the compressor to verify it was still healthy. After the repairs, he confirmed everything was working properly by showing me the compressor amperage had dropped back to normal and that the system had an 18-degree temperature split. Keon was patient with all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. He explained the pros and cons of the recommended repairs, including the hard-start kit, so I could make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured. I really appreciated his transparency and professionalism. By the time he was done, our AC was cooling properly again, and he even worked with us on the final price. If you're looking for an HVAC technician who is knowledgeable, honest, thorough, and takes the time to educate his customers, I highly recommend Keon Garcia. Thanks again for getting our family cool again!
