Our Jensen's Experience: We purchased my wife's ring 18 years ago. We purchased it at Jensen Jewelers in Idaho Falls Idaho, it was beautiful and she was thrilled. We've traveled across the Pacific Northwest for work over the last 15 years and about 5 years ago decided to settle down in Bozeman near my parents and let the kids grow up loving the outdoors as we do. My wife took her ring to Jensen's to be serviced and when we got it back there was black buildup under several of the diamonds. She returned the ring and they explained what it was and said they could fix it so they took it back. When we received it back it looked better but not great, shortly after 3 of the diamonds became loose and started to spin when bumped. We took the ring back in to have it serviced and plated. 3 Weeks later when we went to pick it up the entire top of the ring had been ground down flat. Where there was once grooves and beautiful designs it was flat. When we asked the clerk Eric he stated that there was no way to show that they did that. We showed him the photo of it before and he stated he still couldn't be certain that is something that they did. We were told by Eric on this visit the previous jeweler was no longer with them because he did terrible work and the new jeweler would be better, he's from California and knows his Jewelry. Eric promised he would take care of it. He said they would even send it out to be taken care of and fixed with a laser to recreate what was lost in the designs. Upon further inspection on the ring there was so much buildup under the diamonds that we asked for them to clean it again as well when they repaired it. They took it to and called us a couple week later to come in. When we arrived the diamonds were set uneven. Several sitting much lower than the others. When we showed Eric he agreed and said they must have scraped too much when they were cleaning it. They took it back to clean again. When we went to pick up the ring today it was dirty, had not been polished, the stones were still uneven and they argued with us when we tried to show them. The staff were so extremely rude. We told them we were unhappy so they gave us a discount on the ring but said there was nothing more they could do that it was done right. We took it to a local jeweler and were given this explanation: I'm so sorry, they have destroyed this ring, there is nothing we can do to fix it, you can see the diamond settings are uneven there is buildup under the stones, the band is bent the ring is beyond repair. They also said 2 of the diamonds in the set are completely different than they others and they appear to have been swapped with a lower grade. This jeweler would not recommend wearing it for fear the diamonds are going to come out. My wife's wedding ring was destroyed by Jensen Jewelers here in Bozeman Montana. A ring I saved every cent I had to purchase 18 years ago and when I ask them to make it right they were dismissive and argumentative and told us we could not prove they caused the damage. Please do not buy from this shop, please go somewhere that will back their work and take pride in what they do. I feel so bad for my wife and anyone else they have taken advantage of, we work so hard for what we have and it's terrible how we were treated. read more

Would not recommend Jensen Jewelers to anyone. My fiance bought my engagement ring there on the 10th of March, we went in the next day to get it sized and fitted. The sales lady was very kind and assured us it would take no longer than a month and that we could pick it up on April 4th at the latest. When we went in on April 4th it was not ready because "someone set it on a shelf and forgot about it." Unacceptable. They had not even started to work on it yet. We received no apology but were told we would definitely be able to have it back by the 17th of April. Again, when we went in to pick it up they told us they had received a shipment that day but that our ring wasn't there, and that we should be able to pick it up the following week. If it is possible to give zero stars I absolutely would have. My niece asked me to help her talk to this company after three engagement rings in two and a half years had to be replaced. Each one had fallen apart after just a few months of wear. Each time Jensens offered to remake the ring because of the "bad design" (their words). After the second ring lost diamonds - they switched to a completely different ring design and they ended up talking her into discontinued NON INSURABLE tension setting from a company who no longer even offers the design. 6 months in on the third ring the center stone fell completely out. When she took the ring back today - she was told they could remake it or she could up sell to a nicer ring. That's when she called me and we got the CEO/Owner Tony Pater on the phone in a three way conference call. Tony went on to tell us he was aware of the situation, even though he is located in Idaho. He told us that hat he was sure he could find damage to the ring that would be her fault... which there wasn't as you can see in pictures attached. He told us That my niece hadn't followed the warranty by having it inspected every six months... Which she did after having learned from another jeweler two months after it was purchased that one of the stones was already loose when she had it cleaned. He then began to belittle and talk condescendingly to both myself and my niece acting as if we were the ones selling faulty old merchandise. He said he had a 30 day return policy and they absolutely would not be refunding her money. He even managed to laugh at us. It comes down to this- we learned from the DESIGNER themselves that they had discontinued this style more than five years ago because of it's faulty design. When the first two rings jensens sold broke in under 18 months time, the only way they wouldn't lose money was to sell a piece of Discontinued backstock that wasn't any good. Jensen jewelers caries old faulty merchandise and treats their customers horrendously. They should just stick to elk ivory and class rings because clearly... They have no idea how to handle diamonds. read more

Ordered a $1400 custom ring and was quoted 3 months. It's now been 4 months and after calling several times to either get a refund or at the very least an update on whether it's even been made or if they even know where it is but no one can find it. I got a call saying it hadn't been made then two hours later got a call saying it was finished and would be there Monday then when I called again they said they hadn't called me and that it hadn't been made yet. Very angry at the fact that they just took my money with apparently no intention of making my ring or honoring the 3 month wait I was quoted or the fact that I'd paid in full and trusted them on their word. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone and warn you that they they at the very most will pocket your money and forget you were ever there. read more

Husband went to buy a diamond band and no one helped him...or greeted him...or looked in his direction. I hate to say he was racially profiled but, he was. There were several other non-ethnic customers who entered the store after he and they were helped right away. This same exact thing happened at Riddles so it will go up there as well as. read more

We have been doing business with Jensen for years now. Cetaira and her staff are very helpful and friendly. Always quick to be greeted by all available staff, always asked if I want like my ring to be cleaned and looked at to be sure no diamonds are loose. Really horrible customer service-manager is really unpleasant! Tried to return diamond earrings and they did not honor 30 day return policy as promised by the salesman. Buying a ring is such an overwhelming process, but I was so impressed with how well I was treated here. I went to 4 other jewelry stores and did a lot of online shopping, and ultimately chose Jensen because of the customer service. Annie did an incredible job of helping me pick out the perfect ring, which was no small task as I analyzed and overthought for several hours over two visits. My wife and I spent thousands on multiple rings. After 2 days one ring had problems. We returned it and the old lady at the counter argued with us and tried to justify things. Absolute horrible service. Very disrespectful, argumentative and shady. They all need to take a customer service class together. NEVER buy from this store!!!! read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! If there was an option to give 0 stars I would. This company is a joke. We purchased our first engagement ring in September 2014. After which I lost two diamonds, through no fault of my own. They repaired it both times. I ended up trading out the first ring for a new version (second ring) of the same model. No surprise, again, another missing diamond. I took the ring back in and exchanged it for a more secure model (ring number three October of 2015) and paid more. Now here I am again with yet another ring that lost its diamond. By the grace of God, I was able to find my missing center stone. When I brought it back to the store and asked for a refund (which I felt was very reasonable request) they told me no. After many phone calls back and forth I was finally able to talk with the CEO of Jensen Jewelers, Tony Prater (or owner) he was unclear about who and what he was. After our conversion it is clear to me this man and business does not care about their customers and is only about the bottom line. He flat out refused a refund and proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I had not taken the ring in every six months for inspection (although I was bringing my ring in every few months because of lost diamonds). He was rude, snarky and unprofessional, which one would think as the Owner and/or CEO, he would choose to be a role model. I will never give this company another dime of my money and asking for a reasonable refund for a faulty product is out of the question. Heed my warning!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

We had a terrible experience at this store, and not with just a sales-person, with the manager. We wanted to have the stones from another ring set in a band for my wedding ring and were hoping to do so in palladium as we have really liked it used in other pieces. The manager grossly misrepresented his knowledge of this metal and underestimated the price by more than half. He told us it would take 2-3 weeks to get a solid price from one of his vendors. We left our old ring with him (after getting a receipt for it) and after not a word 6 weeks later, we had to call him. It still took him a couple days to get us the actual price from his vendor. After questioning the surprisingly high new price (again, more than DOUBLE his estimate) he said that he didn't realize that his knowledge was so lacking. We then requested that our old ring be over-nighted to us (we don't live in Bozeman, we're just getting married near-by) so we could renew our search for a wedding band and because we are now only 5 weeks away from the wedding. At this point he became very rude and unhelpful. Lesson learned - even if someone in a jewelry store seems more upfront and straight-forward than most and is the manager, their only goal is the sale, not ensuring their customers get the best service possible. And just because someone is the manager it does not mean that they know anything about their job. I would highly recommend against purchasing jewelery here. read more

I took 2 watches in to have the batteries replaced April 3rd, 2015. The tech fractured one watch down the side from putting too much pressure on my Coach Signature Boyfriend watch, basically totaling my watch. When I picked up the watch (I could see the damage from along ways away) she completely lied about breaking it and proceeded to insult me say that I wear glasses insinuating that I was not able to see the damage before. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she would not be in until 10AM the next day. When I called at 10AM I was told she would not be in until 1PM. When I came in at 1PM with my grandfather I was ganged up on by several employees and the assistant manager who informed me that it was clearly posted Jensen jewelry store is not responsible for any damage they do to your jewelry. My grandfather pointed out the sign posted about expert technicians. I then was told to come back on Monday when the store manager would be in. I live 100 mile from the Bozeman store. I called later asking that they contact the manager who I am sure was available by phone and have her call me. I then called their sister store in Idaho Falls to ask how to file a complain with the corporate office, where the manager there contacted asked if she could help me by contacting the Bozeman store. I only then did I receive a call from Bozeman manager who said she had no intention of talking to me, gave me an owners phone number to call on Monday. She said everyone in the store had already told her (lied) of the situation and that it was clearly posted they are not responsible for any damage they cause to the jewelry they work on and hung up on me (she did say bye as she hung up, but it was not a kind bye as she disconnected the line). I am very upset about the damage they did to my watch, but then to proceed to insult and berate me because they do not want to take any responsibility is extremely unprofessional. This was not my first purchase or repair with this store but obviously the last. It certainly is a business that can not and will not ever stand behind their work. With several other choice I would suggest you keep walking to the next business at least 3 in that mall alone for your jewelry needs. read more
