I've boarded another horse there for about a year 5 years back as well and the experience has been the same. I get updates often on how my horse is doing and what care is coming up for them. The owner Maryanne is personable, professional, and a joy to be around. She cares deeply about the horses on her property. I sleep soundly knowing my horse is in her care. This barn is full of very inviting people that are genuinely so kind and fun to be around. I have taken lessons from Maryanne and she introduced me to her trainer, Katherina, who took me on as her.atudent. Katherina is an amazing teacher. She is firm but kind and clear in her instruction. She can pick up on how I'm doing and adjust the lessons to my needs at the time. She is a wealth of knowledge. The lessons have been such a blessing, with her help I transition from western to full English. Truly, the transition wouldn't have gone so easily without her direction. Katherina is the one that started my horse and trained her in dressage and BOY! She did such an amazing job. Even a novice like myself can see what an excellent job she has done. Katherina cares for both the rider and the horse, she is tuned in during the lessons.

I brought 2 of my horses to Oaks and Ivy in Marshfield Missouri. 6 weeks later they looked like…read morethey were being starved to death. I had the skinniest one of them vet checked. No illness and no parasites. This horse is the one that I bred. The vet said her not settling was most likely due to the severe weight loss. This weight loss was so bad that the vet recommended not even trying to rebreed until next year. I would give them a negative rating if it were an option. My video coverage is too large to post here

TL/DR: RIP Cypress. If you like to be involved and informed with your pet's care go elsewhere. If…read moreyou want to be charged for ridiculous, inappropriate vaccines that decrease quality of life when your puppy is already dying go here. Full: Went to MVC to examine a puppy with a growth on his gums. Between making the appointment and getting seen the growth became severe. The vet took one look and gave almost certain prognosis of death without radiation. I declined biopsy and radiation and consented to x-ray. When they came back they said x-ray was useless and stood by the original prognosis. I told them I would consider a short course of antibiotics in the unlikely chance it was bacterial infection. She said if it was a bacterial infection the antibiotic would turn it around it in 2 weeks, and if it was cancer he'd likely be dead in that timeframe. I told them I definitely didn't want to vaccinate since he was already fighting for his life. She then informed me that she gave him vaccines without my consent while she took him back for the x-ray. I expressed my dismay and she was defensive and unwilling to acknowledge my position and right as a pet owner to make informed decisions. I left the clinic and within 30 minutes the otherwise healthy, energetic pup started violently vomiting and couldn't stand up. I called the clinic and talked to speak the manager. I explained the situation and my concerns. She was equally dismissive and saw no problem nonconsentually vaccinating a sick pup with an almost certain prognosis of death. I told her he took a 180 degree turn of health within an hour of getting the vax and asked if they would consider putting my vet bill ($125) towards euthanizing him (more than $300). She declined. I asked if they'd refund the vaccines. She declined. I asked her to send the pup's medical records to me. She declined. They were not only unhelpful but also rude and unprofessional. The pup had to be euthanized elsewhere almost immediately since he never recovered the dramatic health decline following that vet visit. I was able to obtain the vet records from MVC via the other vet we transferred him to. That vet and another I consulted with were appalled at the behavior of MVC and had strong opinions of negligence and unprofessionalism. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the MVC now alleges that they vaccinated the puppy in front of me and that they did not charge me for the vaccines. This is a blatant lie and an attempt to avoid liability. Making a mistake is one thing, but these people are willing to go to great lengths to make sure they get paid regardless of what's best for animal and owner. Emily Johnson DVM and Lynnette Cook should be embarrassed of their unprofessionalism and lack of ethics. Update: I was still established with their large animal vets for emergency farm visits. They blacklisted me as a client without informing me and wouldn't call me when I had an animal in need.
