I've been going to Dr. Jennifer Ito for a few years now. She is the most sweetest & understanding doctor I have ever met. She's usually booked with many appointments but always manages to squeeze me in. She genuinely cares about the physical AND mental health of her patients. I came to her with debilitating insomnia and she helped me solve that immediately. She treats you like family and is reachable through call or email at any time. I confide in her with everything. My 3-year-old son was hospitalized for asthma 3 times in six months at Red Cross and St. Lukes Hospitals in Japan. Dr. Ito was a good friend with my son's father and wrote a letter to a family court that my son was very healthy. Dr. Ito had never seen my son in the past and her diagnosis was based on the casual interview without neither a blood test nor x-ray. Her letter encouraged my son's father not to believe my son has serious asthma. As a result, my son's father continued not to give my son medicine and my son often comes home coughing and throwing up. His condition has not been stable due to inconsistent treatments. Dr. Ito seemed to be very nice when I talked to her over the phone. She was sympathetic about my court situation but never told me she actually wrote the letter to a court. I found out after I talked to her. I called her office couple of times but her worker said she left for vacation. I asked them to have her call mr and also her email but she said Dr. Ito doesn't have an email address. What she did caused my son's health at risk and I strongly believed it was ethically wrong and irresponsible to write such a letter without proper medical exams and seeing my son having asthma attack when he was brought to the emergency by ambulance and admitted by two major hospitals in Japan. She volunteered to get involve in the family court matter for my son's father and didn't communicate with me fairly. I hope she won't make same mistakes again for other children. read more

Dr Ito is an amazing physician and person. She truly cares for her patients, and goes above and beyond to make sure her patients get the best care possible. She is proactive in her practice and treatment, and takes the time to email results and further advice. She doesn't need to do this but I think she does because she is just that caring. Her staff is very nice and helpful on the phone which is great. There never is a long wait, and they do their best to accommodate you for appt times. Dr. Ito earns every single one of those 5 stars and I would give more if I could. (Not sure if I have ever even thought that when writing a review) but it's true. When moving to Hawaii I was recommended to her office by my roommate, Thank God. After some confusion with starting a new job and my new insurance, her compassionate attitude was one I have never encountered in a doctors office to date. (Which seems kind of wrong now that I think about it) Dr. Ito truly is about her PATIENTS and makes it clear she's in this for YOU and not the $$ you bring through her door. She is everything you would hope to find in a doctor, but rarely do. On top of that, she's just a good person to put it simply. After her standard of care, I think the bar has been raised and I will never again accept "that's just the way it is" if I ever have to leave Hawaii. Beware other Doctors, you are now challenged to catch up with this amazing, thorough, caring and compassionate Doctor. It also doesn't hurt she's got an amazing sense of style and always has a smile on her faceI will never think of my PCP the same way. I wanted to add this though because I didn't think it fair to rate an obviously great doctor with 1 star just because she can't take on more patients. If you think about it, it's kind of punishing her for being exceptional. I'm sure if she could take on more patients she would, but let's give her a break people! dr ito is the best there is! i have not had a dr for many many years... ive been referred to dr ito by a family member! i explained what i needed in a dr. especially a super clean office with not a wait time that will ruin your whole day. dr ito is down to earth, very caring and patient. she has been my dr for a couple years now but i rarely go in to see her but knowing she is my dr gives me peace of mind knowing she is the best! i cant understand why anyone would rate a person one star based on she has been denied. what a joke! read more

Dr. Ito is by far the best doctor out of every doctor I have ever been to. She really cares for her patients, and takes the time to listen to you. Yes, just like all the other reviews, she is very pretty and young but she is also the smartest doctor I have ever met. She was the only doctor that after one visit knew exactly what was wrong with me instead of my pediatrician who was horrible, and just constantly put me on an antibiotic that didn't work for me. Before Dr. Ito I had lost all faith in doctors. Hawaii seems to be in short supply of good reliable doctors. I am only 22 but I have a slew of health problems, and am always having to find a new doctor who is up to the challenge and who will listen, diagnose, but also who is educated enough and experienced enough to have the vast knowledge necessary in a good doctor. Dr. Ito is all that! Not only is she speedy- in and out appointment, no unnecessary talking or questions, straight to the point, but not too hasty. She was knowledgable- within the first few minutes impressed me with her knowledge, especially given my specialized problems. She was able to help me with both travel medications (vaccines and malaria pills) but also refer me to a specialist AND helped me with internal med/primary care doctor needs. She was sweet, caring, was genuinely interested in getting to know me and my health and I walked away happy and accomplished. If you too are being bogged down by Hawaii's health care- check her out.
