From front desk worker to medical assistant and Dr Lee they are patient, helpful and kind.

Having to go to a doctor is almost *never* a cup of tea. Searching for the right doctor isn't one, either. We tend to rely heavily on word of mouth and when I found out that my sister (who is a nurse) and my niece found a doctor they liked and trusted- I decided to give him a shot. I booked an appointment with Dr. Lee through his office and the soonest appointment available for a new patient was about one month later. It wasn't an emergency in my case, but it did seem a little long to wait... I'm glad I did, though! Unfortunately at the time of my first visit I had just suffered through miscarriage. It was a difficult time and Dr. Lee proved to be one of the most patient, kind and thorough doctors I have ever met. He ordered for me to do a series of tests to make sure everything was okay and to be proactive with my health since i hadn't been to a doctor in years. Upon receiving the results, he instructed me of what supplements I should be on and what to watch out for and what he would monitor over time. I've visited him on several occasions for different things. The most recent being for my lungs. As a former smoker, I was concerned about my breathing and he listened in and ordered a chest x-ray that very morning to be read by him immediately [to rule out cancer]. I do have to take medicine for an inflammation and build up but I was so grateful that he was proactive and took my concerns to heart. Dr. Lee is now our family doctor for my fiance and I -and hopefully one day soon for our little ones as well :-)... I must say, the wait for beau's first visit is almost 3 months... If you're a new patient and not in a rush- do not let the wait discourage you! It's a miracle he's still accepting new patients. Plus, it's only a wait for new patients-- once you are a patient of his, you become a priority. He even works on Saturdays. In the event you get an appointment, you should get to the office on time but be prepared to wait. Because of his attention and genuine concern for his patients, he takes his time with each individual. I've never felt rushed. His office is located in the Kuakini Medical Plaza on the 3rd floor. If you are coming from the parking garage, you'll have to take the elevator to the 4th floor where you will find the entrance to the Plaza building (kind of confusing- but you can handle!). read more

Two year ago, I started to feel body not doing well. I went to dr. Eugene Lee for medical help but until now what I got just blood test and urine test every 4-6 months for the last two years. The most terrible thing is when I called for UTI prescription they said they would call DLS for a urine test right away. 50mins later DLS didn't have any order from him. And closing time was 10mins away. Called and they did verbal order, results came in showing need antibiotics. They called 5 mins before the pharmacy closed. I asked them to send to another pharmacy close late as I could take that night to alleviate the pain. The wife who is also a receptionist in his office said she would do it but 2 hours later pharmacy got nothing. I awaited at pharmacy for an hour to wait for my doctor call me back after physician exchange. He eventually called back saying the prescription is ready. However, when I checked with pharmacist it went in just 6 mins before dr. Lee called me. Irresponsible doctor. read more

I love Dr Lee! He is the best doctor in Hawaii!! Seriously. Dr Lee is one of then kindest and most caring people I've met. He is definitely a doctor who is in the profession to help people. His office is very conveniently located in the Kuakini medical building, so there is everything you need in his building. A pharmacy, a lab and even x-rays/imagining.. I have been seeing Dr. Lee for a long time and he is always the best. He takes the time to explain everything to me about whatever is going on in my health. One of the biggest reasons I like him is he is not a script happy doctor. He does not try and push meds on you. in fact he normally suggests some more natural methods like Acupuncture or Yoga for pain instead of just writing you a script for nasty pain meds. It's so refreshing to see a doctor who really really wants to help his patients in the best possible way. His staff is always knowledgeable and caring. He's had the same staff members for years, which tells me a lot about who he is a person right out the door. I am very, very grateful on have found Dr Lee for my Primary Physician. Dr. Lee is great. I've been with him since my surgery back in 2010 and won't see anyone else. He cares about his patience and does extra to help. His staff does their above and beyond than what they're supposed to. read more

Dr. Lee and his staff are absolutely excellent and simply the best. He has been my Dr.for almost 6 years and has caught many things that other Drs missed. He is thorough, professional, but he truly cares. Sometimes when a person has multiple medical problems, Drs roll their eyes and do not make the time for you. We love Dr. Lee! He is a compassionate, open-minded and caring family doctor. I've referred others to him. He reminds me of an old school doctor. He takes his time and he doesn't rush you out the door like some harried doctor at an HMO. I don't particularly care for the Kuakini location because the building looks like it could use a makeover, but I have no complaints about Dr. Lee. He sees a diverse range of patients from children, people with special needs and the elderly. It's not difficult to get an appointment and once he even fit us in right after his weekend closing hours just to help us out. read more

Dr Lee is one of the few doctors who truly cares about his patients. He is very professional and his staff is wonderful. Sometimes his office can be busy but not too bad. He listens to your concerns and works with you in making you feel better. Highly recommended! read more

Having moved back to Hawaii from Seattle, it was hard to find a PCP that I was comfortable with and trust until I found Dr. Eugene Lee. He was highly recommended from the nurses I worked with and I am glad i took their advice back in 2010. He is a awesome and knowledgeable physician. As both a internal medicine and pediatrics physician, my whole family sees him. He is very good with my nine year old. He takes time to listen to my son and explains things very well with him. Just started seeing Dr Lee. He is really an awesome doctor. He is very comprehensive and very caring. He is extremely thorough which is very important to me. For now, appointments are easy to get but I imagine as more people find out about him it may not be as easy. I am so glad my friend recommended him.
