5 Stars - Worth the Wait! Dr. Jun is incredibly attentive and actually listens to his patients - which is honestly refreshing these days. There's a reason he's booked out for months (I waited nearly a year and a half for my first appointment, but it was absolutely worth it). The practical details are great too: free parking (seriously, what doctor's office has free AND available parking?), excellent location, and the building itself is clean and professional - not sketchy at all. Switching to Dr. Jun is probably the single best decision I have made regarding my health in decades. He's kind and empathetic. He listens and makes actionable decisions based on what you tell him. Yes, a doctor that listens and cares about you! It's wild to think about how much I've just suffered in silence before rather than trying to actually fix a health issue (such as shortened muscles due to lots of sitting or weird and random allergic reactions). He's also very accessible and communicative with My Health Chart. My time at the office is also short and efficient, not a ton of waiting like I've experienced elsewhere. We're actually moving soon and while there's a lot of feelings that go into that decision, I think finally finding a gem of a doctor then leaving is one of my biggest regrets! read more

Recently had to switch to a new PCP since my insurance was changing to UHA and my former doctor did not accept that. Thankfully I was referred to Dr. Andrew Jun who is now at the Queen's Health Care Center in Kahala Mall (by the back by Corepower Yoga). The building is completely new and just opened up in November. On my first visit, I was surprised with how young Dr. Jun is haha. I guess I was used to having an older doctor. Also he was very friendly and personable! He made the whole doctor visit feel at ease and he was very thorough. He answered any questions or concerns I had. Seems like he really cares about his patients! Such a nice change! My previous PCP retired after 20+ years in practice as she wanted to move on to the next chapter of her life. I had to find another PCP, even though I have a PPO that doesn't require it. You want a PCP regardless of the type of plan you have mainly because you need someone to go to as a "first-look" whenever you got questions about your health. Your PCP is your quarterback of your medical team. My family have been seeing Dr. Jun for the past few years while he was in the Hale Pawaa building as Manoa Family Medicine. He's recently moved to the Queen's Health Care Center at Kahala and I'm very glad I found him. I have severe health anxiety and he's been patient with every question and concern I had about my health. He is very easy to message over the MyChart system and both him and his nurse assistants are some of the most patient and kind and understanding and knowledgeable folks I've talked to. There is less than a 5-10 minute wait before you see the doctor, and what's great about Dr. Jun and his staff is that they do followup calls and/or messages via MyChart. If you ever visit the ER or the downstairs Urgent Care they will call you the next day to make sure you're okay. It's a bit more difficult to get to the "front office" there because you have to call their patient support center which is like a customer service line, but they have no problems leaving messages for the Kahala staff to call you back, and they're usually prompt in their calls. Parking is ample. The center is clean, modern and welcoming. Dr. Jun is still taking new patients, but you will usually have to wait about 2-3 weeks for the initial appointment, but afterwards it's usually easy enough to get an appointment within a week, and if you do have an urgent issue he's willing to squeeze you in if necessary. read more

Dr jun is the best doctor I've ever had, and I've had many. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and addresses any issues that you have one by one. He's is also always available either through his staff, my chart or even on a phone call. His receptionist nurse's and staff are also incredible and willing to help. read more

Dr. Andrew Jun has been my (and the wife's) primary care physician for the last several years. He is young, energetic and extremely thorough. He really takes the time to listen to you and your concerns. His office is located in the new Hale Pawa'a Building on Beretania Street. It's not as convenient as his old location in Manoa, but all things considered it's a positive change. The only negative is his staff are young and generally inexperienced medical assistants that seem to have little or no practical medical knowledge, that being said it doesn't change my opinion of him or his practice. read more

I can't believe that it's taken me so long to review Dr. Jun because if anyone deserves a 5 star review, it's this doctor. He is very humble and I know gets a little embarrassed when I say this, but it's true...he saved my life. A few years ago my PCP retired and I continued to see the doctor who took over her practice. She was nice, but I never really felt that she provided the same level of attention and care as my previous doctor. My husband started seeing Dr. Jun in 2017 and encouraged me to switch...I finally did so and had my first appointment the summer of 2018. On your initial visit, Dr. Jun does a complete work up, sits with you to review your history and current health, and runs a full panel of blood tests. At the time I was feeling run down (but then again, who doesn't feel tired with full time job, a preschooler and newborn?) so he ordered some extra tests. Initially we thought that my fatigue could be due to a possible case of mononucleosis. But, by late summer I was also starting to experience some neck pain every so often while walking. As this pain became more frequent, Dr. Jun suggested we start looking into other reasons for this pain and wanted to rule out any cardiac causes. He was my advocate over the next few months as we worked together to get in to see specialists and schedule various tests (the wait times for these are crazy now days). And as my symptoms became progressively worse, he continued to listen to me and fight for me. He never brushed off my symptoms and was a strong advocate. At one point, I called him on a holiday and he sent me to the ER hoping it would get me in for testing sooner. But the ER checked me out, told me I didn't have any heart issues and then sent me home. Thank God for Dr. Jun! Because of his diligence, I was able to have a stress Echocardiogram the week after my ER visit and they found that my left ventricle did not function well under stress. The cardiologist who performed the test put me on nitroglycerin, told me to avoid exerting myself at all and called to get my cardiology consult fast tracked. Fast forward another week and after fighting the insurance company to authorize a cardiac angiogram, we discovered I had an almost complete blockage of my left anterior descending (LAD) artery to my heart. It was so bad, the team would not let me go home and scheduled an immediate open heart surgery. Thanks to Dr. Jun, doctors were able to find the blockage and fix the problem BEFORE I suffered a heart attack. A heart attack that I now know would probably have killed me before I would have been able to get help. I know that my previous doctor would not have pushed so hard nor followed up with me so diligently. Like many women who have unusual symptoms, I would have probably succumbed to a heart attack because the doctors brushed off my symptoms and concerns. I'm now recovered and in excellent health. And know that I have a lifetime in front of me with my husband and two boys. We've referred so many people to Dr. Jun in the past year and I can't speak more highly of him. He gives every patient his full attention and takes your concerns seriously. He is an excellent doctor with a stellar bedside manner. The new office in Kahala is awesome! Clean, modern, ample parking AND they work with Urgent Care downstairs. Very convenient! I hardly have a need to go to the doctor, so it's been a while but Dr Jun and Staff were just as courteous, efficient, and personable as I had remembered (since... 4 yrs ago? Lol). He really took the time to ask thorough questions and met my needs. I had also called him about 4 months ago re: vaccine side effects, and even then he was prompt in calling back and took the time to explain. I know doctors offices are hectic, so I'm used to kind of being rushed out, but Dr Jun does not make you feel rushed at all (and I know he is super busy) So lucky to have stumbled upon him, way back from when he was practicing in Manoa. read more

I was having a difficult time finding a good Primary Care Physician (PCP), so I decided to ask friends of mine in the healthcare industry who their doctors are. Several of them said they absolutely LOVE their doctor - Dr. Jun, so I decided to give him a try. I recognized immediately why the friends I spoke with were so passionate about referring Dr. Jun. He is certainly not your run-of-the-mill doctor by any stretch of the imagination. He is young, energetic, friendly, lighthearted and patient (he takes the time to listen to you and your concerns - you never feel rushed). He is also extremely knowledgeable and strives relentlessly to keep himself positioned at the forefront of modern medicine and therapeutic techniques. Another weapon in his arsenal is his impressive list of specialty doctors that he refers his patients to when necessary. The fact that Dr. Jun sincerely cares for his patients is evidenced by his strong desire and tireless effort to help them achieve optimal health as quickly as possible. When my wife saw the incredible treatment I was receiving from Dr. Jun, she chose him as her PCP also. She was in utter disbelief when Dr. Jun called her the day after her first appointment to check in with her and see how she was feeling. She said to me, "I've never had a doctor do that before". My wife and I are truly grateful to have Dr. Jun as our PCP and we look forward to a lifelong relationship together. Dr. Andrew Jun and Dr. Masaki Tesoro have recently moved to the Hale Pawa'a Building on Beretania St. They maintain joint offices on the West side of the building in cool and clean offices on the 5th floor, Suite 500. Dr. Jun has been my PCP about a year before leaving his offices at Manoa Family Medical Group and if you are interested in the past Yelps while at that location, you will find that both doctors had and have maintained 5 star ratings by all patients, old and new. There are multiple reasons for this and since I am a very pleased, (albeit admittedly a not altogether complaint patient) I must reinforce that you cannot do better that either doctor. And I feel comfortable saying this because they often work in tandem. When one is unavailable or on vacation, the other covers most competently for the other. When your own doc returns, you follow up with them. Very efficient system. They are thorough and practice state of the art recordation and prescription dispatching. You will find my Yelp review of Mina Pharmacy at the Pawa'a Building which is on the first floor. Dr. Jun does not practice favoritism with pharmacies but if you want your meds ready almost as soon as you leave the office and get down to first floor, then let him send yours there. If you do have to wait a few minutes, there is a cool, pleasant lobby just outside to sit in and read. Drs. Jun and Tesoro's offices staff is competent, helpful and pleasant. They are efficient in scanning information, ushering in patients, and generally running the office like the well oiled machine it ought to be. One patient at least is always before me and when I leave there is always one patient in the waiting room after. Dr. Jun is a patient, kind, informative doctor. He is careful at listening, helpful in his suggestions, expert in his diagnosis, competent in his assessments and most assuredly you will leave the office having been treated well and respectfully. Either his referrals to specialists, medications, and follow up phone calls (yes) will have you on the path of wellness very soon. He does make it very clear that patients are responsible for their own health care and maintenance but he will partner 100% of your needs along the way. First hour is free with ample covered parking. Second and subsequent hours there are a few bits, not even worth mentioning especially with what parking costs in any building nowadays. Now I realize that the above review is what you might expect from a good doctor. But today, find me another one that fits the whole bill. Add to this, that Dr. Jun treats with humor and a true, genuine understanding of the human condition, that he understands that patients that come to see him are not feeling their best, have issues that are not medical, might not be amenable to change of life recommendations, and are literally there to dump a wellness problem into his lap. He manages all of the stuff we bring him with kindness and cheerfulness. Not the easiest thing to do, all day, every day, many hours of the day. I'm pretty sure that Dr. Jun doesn't need new patients at this point but I am sure glad to be one of them. He does try to squeeze you in if you, "belong" to him and are feeling awful, or he will at least see you within a reasonable few days. If you are a new patient wanting to register, expect a month or two before you can meet this wonderful human being. The wait will be one of the longest you might ever anticipate but Dr. Jun is that proverbial, "worth the wait" kind of doctor everyone in the world hopes to find. read more

I'm totally new to HMSA...couldn't find a good pediatrician to take my kids. Then I happened upon Manoa family medicine. Initially it was hard to even get an appointment, since most good doctors are quite full and not really taking new patients. So we had to wait two months to actually get the kids into see him, but wow it was worth the wait. He looked over my kids whole chart before we got there, asked the kids questions to get them to talk and even gave them advice...not just any advice but real solid...what I've been saying...great advice. He even noticed that in my son's chart there had been an incident where he was bullied...talked to him about that. I couldn't believe what a great experience I had...Dr. Jun really cares about his patients and does an exceptional job! read more
