Doctors like that are hard to come by nowadays. In fact, I decided to leave my last PCP when she stated her preference for two patient visits per year and the use of urgent care and the ER. She was candid about HMSA's reimbursement switch to a capitation plan as the basis for her preference. I empathize as I think this new payment system is detrimental for the patient too. So that wasn't going to work for me so I found paying the MDVIP fee a good investment. Dr Okimura has in-depth knowledge of my health issues and she is sincerely invested in finding solutions and helping me to be the best me. She is incredibly empathetic, timely responses to calls and emails and comes with well rounded knowledge. I really appreciate that she respects that I know my body and always takes my input into consideration. I highly recommend Dr Okimura!

She's more than just a doctor, she's caring and understanding. Never judgmental and always taking the time to make sure I'm ok physically and mentally. The staff have always been kind and considerate. Honestly, I don't usually write reviews on yelp for medical professions but I just wanted people to know that she is awesome because if you are being referred to see her, then usually you need peace of mind. Rest assured. She's awesome. Understand the stress and demands of healthcare workers and that they are multi-tasking. It's a busy office. If it wasn't, that would be more questionable. So I'm grateful.

I am a bit of a complex patient and an anxious one at the moment so I am super grateful that my Queen's physician made finding me a supportive match the priority. Dr. Miyashiro is incredibly empathetic. She was well prepared for my consultation which is sadly the exception rather than the rule nowadays. She went over my options taking my other medical issues in to consideration and respectfully listened to a couple I had heard about and shared with me pros and cons. It won't be an easy journey but I feel so much better with her as my quarterback. My wait was about 15 minutes and reception was meh, but maybe they were having a challenging day. It is a very busy office. Hope this review helps someone else considering physicians. I found information to be scarce.

A friend of mine recommended her - a friend who knows I am somewhat of a hypochondriac and always think the worst when it comes to my health. Dr. Asari is great at putting my mind at ease. She is calm and professional and extremely detailed oriented and thorough in her examinations. She will ask me what I am worried the issue is; I will tell her; and she will do what ever it takes to rule it out. She doesn't hesitate to run tests to see what's going on. Some may not like that, but I for one am thankful and appreciative instead of her just blowing things off and saying it's "nothing". She also does a great job of explaining to me why it's probably not what I think it is and helps me think things through logically. I also love how at the beginning of the visit she herself writes down a list of details and gets a good background history from me, instead of the nurse doing that. She is a great problem solver and talks everything out with me. That makes me feel better, to know what she's thinking. She will always tell me the worst scenario, but is very realistic and open about what is really going on, which validates my thoughts, but brings me back to reality; and again, she never makes me feel like a hypochondriac, even though I know I probably am. lol.

She's really active in her kid's' school/sports activities and we've run into her sometimes (once while we were laying over in Taipei airport on our way back to Hawaii too!!) but she never makes it awkward. I also really like that I can get in touch with her via MyChart for non-urgent questions instead of having to make an appointment and hassling with parking.

No one bothered to check in on me during the time I was in the examine room...No communication what so ever. no one came in saying ...so sorry the Dr. is running really late. There will be another ___ minutes wait or would you like to reschedule. NOTHING!!!!I I couldn't even find someone when I left the examine room to tell them I was leaving. I had to hunt someone down. Never saw the Dr. Harada. This office is poorly run. They don't communicate with their patients, They don't value other peoples time. I did not feel welcomed. Who was her nurse? Nothing welcoming in a business that is people driven. You will never have a second chance of making a first impression. Especially from a PCP & her staff that you will have to depend on for your health concerns. I don't think this dr. will have my health concerns as a priority. Not coming back. On another note: No one from this office even called to apologize for my experience. Not a word. This just confirms my opinion of how poorly run this office & they just don't care. Established patients are prioritized over new ones and the wait for a new appointment may be a few months. However, once you have established care you can expect to have your needs met. Dr. Harada does tend to run behind, but she will make sure to give you her full attention when you see her. I appreciate that she will squeeze established patients in if they need to be seen, she is worth the wait! A few of my friends have PCPs who are booked out for months even when they have an acute or urgent concern and end up going to urgent care or the ER for everything except wellness checks. I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a PCP.

A recent visit to urgent care revealed concerning lab results suggesting potential kidney failure. We were advised to follow up with her primary care doctor and repeat the blood test in about a month. When I contacted Dr. Nekoba's office, I was told that because it had been over two years since her last visit, she was now considered a new patient--and unfortunately, the doctor was no longer accepting new patients. I explained the urgency of her condition, and the receptionist said she would speak with Dr. Nekoba and get back to me. No one ever followed up. After calling multiple clinics, all with wait times of several months to nearly a year, I reached out to Dr. Nekoba's office again, desperate for help. I expressed how worried I was that my mother might not survive the wait. The receptionist again checked with Dr. Nekoba, but the answer remained unchanged--she would not see my mom. I was told to try the Queens Clinic, even though I had explained that Queens had already referred us back to her PCP and wouldn't even order another blood test without one. While I understand that doctors have policies and limits, the complete lack of compassion or flexibility in the face of a potentially life-threatening situation was incredibly disheartening. At the very least, I had hoped for some kind of guidance or support from someone listed as her doctor of record. Where's the Aloha?
