I'm a brand new patient and recently met with Dr. Harada. She spent a lot of time with me, was very personable, and asked many questions to understand my overall health picture. She seemed to genuinely care. I was impressed and plan to continue seeing her as my doctor. It's hard to find a good PCP these days, and I was pleased with my first experience. Do not go to this doctor. Incompetent and failed to diagnose terminal health condition. For many years, she did not even have an exam table in her office. Extremely rude and defensive when asked about failing to meet basic standard of care. Likely subject to medical malpractice claim. read more

I only had Dr. Harada for couple months since last year of June 10th, 2021. I scheduled an appointment with the front desk and when I got there which took me 15 minutes to get to Ann Harada's office since there was plenty of Harada in the building, I finally got there. Went up to the front desk and told them that I had an appointment with her, and my name didn't pop up because I called over the phone on March 24th, 2021 to make an appointment. It such a waste of time that I went around the building to see her and very disorganized. Speaking of which, I had gone to see Dr. Harada exactly at June 10th, 2021 before my appointment starts at 11am. I waited for 20 minutes until they called my name and when I got into the room, I waited for another 15 minutes for her to finish off her clients. It was literally a disorganized place and for me to be there 15 minutes prior to the time my appointment started, I could say that she takes her sweet time before her next patient. And for couple weeks of trying to get in contact with her since her promotion or however you wanted to call it but I have called and called her new work phone also her main office, no answer. I tried to leave a voicemail but it was full. I even requested an appointment with her on MyChart and I don't even think her or any other staff member faculties has even CHECKED their Chart if they aren't going to answer their phone line. What's the point of wasting your time with that? Anyways I have found a new doctor so I don't have to worry if she doesn't answer my call or not. read more

Ann herself is a very sweet doctor, however, her and her office severely lack scheduling and following up with their patients. I was a new patient this year, and have only seen her once in person and had to wait over an hour to see her for this appointment. Then, I had two scheduled telehealth appointments and both times she never showed. They also like to cancel or reschedule the day of your appointment. Unfortunately, I will be switching doctors. Respectfully, I wouldn't recommend this doctor or office to anybody looking for a reliable practice. read more

My husband went to her since his old internist had retired. First, he had to wait an hour and a half after his appointment time before she saw him. And she never finished his physical exam because she was busy and forgot about him. So when she discovered him still waiting, she rushed to take him in, then she asked him to wait. In the meantime, she took on somebody else instead of finishing his exam. He finally had to leave to pick up our son. Her office was chaotic, with doctors and people coming in and out. He was forced to return so she could finish his initial exam. His second appointment was for 12:30pm. There were three patients ahead of him. When he asked the receptionist when the doctor would be able to see him, she replied that it would be around 2:00pm-2:30pm. My husband never went to a doctor who did an incomplete examination, forcing him to come back. That should have been a red flag already. Then when he returns for the second visit, he would have to wait 1.5-2 hours before she could see him. This doctor is very slow and incompetent. You are better off looking elsewhere, unless you love to sit for hours in a waiting room. read more

Dr. Ann is a great doctor. She spends a lot of time with each individual patient. I know she and her staff work very hard to get everyone situated each time I go to an appointment. She not only works really hard at what she does, but her personality is so warm and welcoming. Her love for her medical practice shows in all she does. From balancing the times and appointments of many people, to studying to gain further knowledge, and to how much care she just shows to each and every person that walks through her doors. Yes there are times when the wait is long, but that just shows how many people go to see her. But even with the wait, I can say it is worth it because of how she takes the time with each patient to make sure nothing is missed or looked over. That is what doctors should do. When I moved to Hawaii in 2016, I knew I was looking for a good doctor... but I never thought I would have stumbled across not only a great doctor but also a great friend as well. I am grateful to have met Dr. Ann Harada as well as her staff. I thank them for all of their hard work and dedication. They truly do make going for a doctors visit worth it. Dr. Ann Harada is a wonderful Doctor. I was there today and waited an hour and a half to see her. She is very thorough. However, her staff is extremely rude. She told me to come back and make an appointment in two months. I went out front to make an appointment and was told I was supposed to make an appointment with Alva. I was told it was in my chart to make an appointment in two months in my chart but she didn't have anything until 4 months. I don't know her name but she's pregnant. I've spoken to Dr. Harada about the staff before and their treatment. I love Dr. Harada, not the staff. Terese the receptionist is great. read more

Called because our cardiologist referred us to Dr. Harada and Teresa was very rude saying she wouldn't accept new patients. When I tried to explain that this was a special referral she rudely cut me off. A'ole...terrible service. Dr. Harada may be great, but her staff is HORRIBLE and no aloha spirit. read more

Most doctors office you wait. some days are busier. some days are slower. this office is just just like any otber office but i noted that inside the clinic, the staff are happy, friendly, efficient. Dr Ann Harada goes out of her way to make her patients aware of their medical condition. She treats them as much as she can handle before referring them out to especialiist. Not all primary care do that, this in turn slows her down at times. You are lucky to have this caring down to earth doctor in the community. read more

I inherited Dr. Ann when my internist of 34 years retired and sold his practice to her. Dr. Ann is overwhelmed; she has far too many patients and she and her staff have poor organizational skills. It is 4 months between appointments, even if you are post-surgery and are supposed to see your internist within one week after hospitalization. She doesn't follow-up with lab results. For example, she has ordered M.R.I.s and other exams for me, but doesn't call me with the results, as did my former doctor. Two of my specialists have talked to me privately about their inability to get records from her, and her office's general disorganization. You wait 1.5 - 2 hours for your appointment. It takes a week to get a prescription refilled. Finally, I researched her education and learned she graduated from a medical school in the Caribbean, one which pays hospitals for their students to do rounds in varying areas of practice in the U.S. Her medical school is called a "second chance" school. Her medical school has hooked up for with a clinic in California, where she and others can get a residency in GP or internal medicine. I'm looking for another, more organized, more accessible, and brighter internist. But, I can't find anyone taking new patients. I agree with those kind reviewers that she listens to you, makes you feel she cares, and that she is learning and studying your issues. But, for me, I've got friends for that. She has heart, works hard, but she just isn't suited for her profession. Maybe PhD psychologist where you see one patient per hour and you can't prescribe meds. would be a good alternative. I feel guilty writing this; she is a good person. Just not a top notch organized decisive medical doctor. read more

Dr Ann Harada is the best doctor I've ever had. She took care of my dad who could have died from having uncontrolled diabetes for years, had I not changed him to her care. His previous Doctor wrote he was a controlled diabetic when that was far from the truth. His reading was three times the normal and could have gone into a coma. She did such a great job, that after just two months he was down to one diabetes medication and has normal glucose readings. Unfortunately my mom was not so fortunate. After decades of neglect from her previous Doctor she has suffered a heart attack and numerous strokes. But Dr Harada did not give up on her and has gotten her blood pressure down to normal. But because of the strokes she has difficulty with everyday activities. Because they were old, their previous Doctor probably just wrote them off and felt they should just die from their ailments. My parents were such loyal patients that they would wait in excess of two hours for their appts. Now my dad calls him a quack. My dad is nearly blind and has lost sensation in his feet due to the years of his uncontrolled diabetes. I would highly recommend Dr Ann Harada to anyone who wants an excellent, compassionate and highly conscientious Doctor. I have also decided to join the trend of ppl seeking a great doctor." I just wished I meet her earlier since my parents were not given adequate care from their previous internist. Well, now that both of my parents have passed peacefully thanks to Dr Harada's excellent compassionate care they lived longer than I would have anticipated. He was 97 and my mom 93. Since I've switched to Dr Harada too, I feel much more competent about the care she will give me. She helped me already in several of my illness. One I thought I was going to die. read more
