I have had a very hard time finding, and keeping, a GP. My last two have moved out of the country, both with very little notice. (Is it me? Who knows.) I've got an old neck/shoulder injury that has flared up, making the last week of my life relatively unpleasant.
I learned that it's impossible to get insurance to pay for physical therapy without a referral from a GP, and almost everyone I called didn't have appointment for at least four weeks.
Enter Dr. Nakamura and his awesome staff. They saw me the same day I called (which is almost unheard of), and I was given the most complete exam I've ever gotten. He actually heard the things I was telling him, and gave me very honest answers to some slightly odd/neurotic questions. I got my referral to a PT, as well as a tetanus booster. (If my neck and arm are going to hurt, it may as well be all at one time, right?)
A giant mahalo to everyone in the office there, for such a great experience. read more
