Jennifer Baron, MD (dermatologist) did NOT listen to my concerns and did NOT seem to care about healing my ailment (which was totally heal-able). Just because a doctor is smart doesn't mean they care enough to help you. I saw her over a period of years. The office and doctor are bad with following up with prescription options when one is denied. They are also bad with setting up an after care plan. Communication with the office was terrible. They can be condescending. It's like they think they're nicer and more helpful than they are. You start adding up the facts and it's like oh you really weren't very helpful were you since I did NOT get a correct prescription or an after care plan. I had wanted to try some extra things on my skin after my primary concern was resolved, but would never get that far with this office after experiencing their ways. The front desk never got back to me like they said they would. I called so many times and heard excuses for several WEEKS about why no one had called me back. I even went in to the office only to hear the same thing: "We'll call you; the doctor received your message; we have your correct number." No one ever returned my calls. Ever been GHOSTED by a doctor? Just say what you want to: NEXT! Stop wasting your patients' time and energy because it's just as valuable as yours. read more

Went to see Dr. Baron to have some moles and growths frozen off. The front office staff was friendly and professional. They took me to a room right away, asked a few questions, and then I waited about 10 - 15 minutes for Dr. Baron. I didn't mind too much. Dr. Baron was warm and communicative. She examined the things I wanted removed and determined they weren't cancerous. She also asked about some other lumps and bumps I hadn't mentioned, checking to see if I wanted those removed, too. The freezing procedure hurt for a moment or two, but I was prepared for that since it wasn't my first time. She asked about my skincare routine, agreed I was using the right products, and told me about a non-greasy moisturizer she offers, which I ended up buying for about 20 dollars. It's aloe vera-based and works really well on the eczema on my hands. All in all, it was a good visit and I recommend Dr. Baron. read more

Dr Baron was a referral through my friend. The office cancelled my appointments 3 different times, with no fault of my own. I initially waited 3 months for the 1st appointment...not a lot of great dr's where I live and was willing to wait. Then on my way to the appt from my home (1.5 hours from San Jose-and mentioned that each time I made an appt) the office called to cancel an hour before the appointment. I was in Morgan Hill and had to turn around. The office cancelled the 2nd appt a week later. The 3rd appt (for tomorrow 11/7/25) I again travelled 1.5 hours for an early morning appt the next day. They called at 4:00pm to cancel my next day appt. Ho hum. Can I have that time and gas money back please?!? What an inconvenience nightmare. Please stay far away!!! read more

Meeting her was kind of a fluke - when our elderly Aunt was a patient at a skilled nursing facility, and needed the care of a dermatologist. By chance, the skilled nursing facility recommended a nearby clinic, and arranged special wheelchair transport to the appointment, and by pure luck, Dr. Baron was the one to see her. Dr. Baron's kindness meant the world to our Aunt, a nurse by profession, who was at her very lowest point in life, immobile, and no longer able to live independently. We were deeply touched by Dr. Baron's sincere care of her. Not long after, we were thrilled that she opened her own private practice, at which time our entire family did not hesitate switching doctors to be under her care. She knows her stuff, being up on all the latest medical advancements, and she won't give up until she finds the solution. Three generations of our family have been patients of Dr. Barons over these many years, and she has always been there for all of us, which we are truly grateful to her for. Visit 2/10: I was literally one of the first visits of the day, and I still waited 30 minutes inside the patient room (not the waiting room). I also asked the receptionist 30 minutes in if the doctor is coming. Dr. Baron came later, and was very nice, but spent a maximum of 10 minutes. I told her what I was using, which she seemed to know some and was curious about others. I asked for recommendations of products given my current routine. Front office in person 0/10: After the visit, I was ushered to see the front office. They were going to show me recommendations of products I asked for, and all there seemed to be was white labeled products. Not sure if this is normal practice across all dermatologists but it felt salesy. I think it would have felt less salesy if it was more OTC/prescription products. Billing ?/10: Not sure how I feel here. Dr. Baron spent a maximum of 5-10 minutes, but the bill showed I was billed for 30-39 minutes. At the end of the day the insurance adjusted amount might be the same though regardless of how it's coded? Also note - bill only gives option to pay via mail and not online. Front office over the phone 0/10: I called in to settle the bill, since the bill only gave an option to pay via mail. The front office receptionist was very very rushed, and rude. The reception was probably having a rough day but not someone I'd like to deal with again unless they were having a better day. read more

I would like to say that at this stage of my life I have had many doctors for my wellbeing. And searching for the right doctor (these days) can consume a lot of time!!! She is not only my dermatologist for medical checkups she's on the leading edge of cosmetic procedures. I've recently had a few facial skin treatments to rid of 'nics and crannies' and this was ideal for maintenance but I needed/wanted something more - where I could 'feel' and 'see' the difference. I started my research and found that a HALO laser for resurfacing my face and neck. Fortunately, Dr. Baron now offers this amazing treatment and I'm testimony that it is truly a game changer!! They always said they are understaffed. However, this problem has been going on for many years, no change. if you want to refill your medications, good luck to you, no one will respond. VERY Disappointed. Before my appointment, I called the office ask what the cost would be out of pocket after providing insurance over the phone - I was asked to call back after she had made the call. She confirmed there would be NO CHARGE to me based off my insurance (which hasn't changed). Surprise - Got a bill over $185 and the office will not adjust even though they told the incorrect info. They pushed their products claiming they were good since they were gentle when I asked what the difference between them vs. Dr. Dennis Gross's products. Followed the directions the front desk gave - the products are now gathering dust on my counter since they dried out my skin. The office called a few days later to follow up (a pleasant surprise) and i relayed the result, she just apologized and told me to try one product a week until i could figure out what was causing the dryness. You would hope for more after spending $200+ on products. When I called the office to inquire about the bill, they said no one would tell me that and that its not protocol to follow up with patients after their appointments and I should have notified them sooner. Well, I did but surprise - different response when it's too late for their office to do anything. Based off recent reviews it sounds like others are experiencing the same poor experience. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Waited 2 hours (plus the initial 4? 5? months it took to even get an appointment...) because apparently the doctor is so busy. I just wanted a check up to make sure all my little spots were healthy, etc. I had three spots on my legs that I especially wanted her to check to make sure they looked healthy, and when she said, "Oh, I can remove them" in such a mild, low-key way, I said, "Well, sure, I guess..." She proceeded to burn (freeze???) the skin spots and it was incredibly painful. I received no papers regarding how to care for the (now extremely damaged skin) once I got home, and no info on what to expect. After a week I called back-- the places on my leg that she froze or burned were swollen and painful; one was infected and bleeding... The girl answering the phone said that Baron wasn't in (not in the office?? During business hours?!?!) but she asked someone else (??) what I should do, and they said that I should "put Vaseline on it." I've left messages, but no one has answered the phone since, and Jennifer Baron never followed up after any of my phone calls. This last call that I made, I completely lost it. My leg looks awful and I never even intended for her to work on my skin, much less harm my skin. I can't even regard her as a doctor at this point, and I said as much in my message. I am going to have to refer to her as Jennifer from now on until she resumes her role as a physician. Seriously, Jennifer has zero regard for patients, from making them wait months for an appointment and then hours in the office, to performing procedures that were never asked for... pretty sure she is mostly interested in making $$ and hawking her over-priced lotion (which I didn't purchase... and why would I, when I can "just put Vaseline on it?") I had my first appointment at this practice and was disappointed with the experience. Despite arriving on time, I was kept waiting for an hour without any communication or updates from the front desk staff. When I inquired about the delay, I was told that it was due to an interview that had been scheduled during my appointment time, which I find unacceptable. Furthermore, the front desk staff did not seem to express any empathy for my situation and appeared to minimize the length of the delay when I brought it to their attention. As a patient, I believe that timely and respectful communication, as well as excellent customer service, are essential components of a positive experience. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell short on both counts. Dr. is nice and she apologized for the long waiting time. I hope that the practice can take steps to ensure that patients are informed of any delays or changes to their appointments in a timely manner, and that front desk staff are trained to provide empathetic and responsive customer service. For those who are first time patients be wary, you will be charged the most on your first appointment. There was no transparency or mention to this prior to the appointment. I was billed with a code for a 45+ min visit despite not spending more than 20 min in the place total, from entering to leaving the parking lot. Not only that, but after many times calling and trying to understand why I was being charged that, front desk told me they thought it was a mistake and I should have been charged for a 30 min visit at most for my first appointment, but the claim code was never changed. My case was very simple and the doctor did not spend more than 5 min looking at my hands. I also had a lot of trouble getting my prescription because they didn't fill it correctly and took me a week calling everyday to get them to talk to the pharmacy and fix their mistake. All that was necessary was to have more transparency about how this would be charged. That would have allowed me to make a more informed decision before choosing a doctor. A bit more attention to detail or effort on their part to make sure I get my prescription correctly would have also been better. read more

I just received a voicemail from a billing company telling me I owe money. Invoices were being sent to a wrong address yet almost 5 years later i finally receive a phone call. I found Dr. Baron and called to make an appointment for a skin check and to discuss skin concerns. She was booked for a few months but I was able to schedule appointment in time for the end of the year. I was very pleased with the new client intake process, friendly staff, easy to find location (with parking!), and the time and care that Dr. Baron gave me during my appointment. I purchased some products from her private skin care line and they've been great for my skin. I have since gone back for Botox and she made the process very easy. I was nervous for my first Botox experience but she explained everything, asked me questions about what I wanted, and told me what to expect afterwards. I highly recommend Dr Baron for any skin cancer relates issues. She performed a Moh's surgery on me competently and demonstrated a genuine desire for positive results. While the wound healing was as anticipated, I had an unexpected allergic reaction to some materials. She stayed in consistent contact with me to monitor progress and when my allergic reaction became more of a concern late on a Saturday night, she met me to attend to it and ensure I had a clear path toward healing. She even offered to come to my home if I preferred. I think it is a rare that a Dr would go to that length to ensure a patient's health and it showed me she stands by her work. Dr. Baron is top notch, incredibly knowledgeable about everything related to skin. Her products are amazing, especially the retinol serum which I have been using on my thick-skinned knuckles from ichthyosis. Nothing has come close to doing anything for them including CO2 laser done by another derm; Dr. Baron's retinol has softened my hands to the point of almost being normal!! And I've only been using it for about 3 months!!! I also love the caffeine and green tea lotion ~ this is so nourishing and takes away redness on my skin. I even put it on those ugly bruises that appear easily under aging skin and I swear they disappear faster than anything else. I also love her Vitamin C serum ~ you can feel it working.
