Dr. Chiang's staff is efficient & also asked if I had any other questions besides my tick bite - & I did have minor issues that I wouldn't otherwise have seen a doctor for. Dr. Chiang was nice, warm, friendly & smart doctor. He prescribed some ointment to help my tick bite heal & prescribed antibiotics to address possible Lyme disease. Doctor helped me with my minor problems: 1) dry skin on the back of my neck - turned out to be eczema, to which I apply the same ointment I'm using on my tick bite; 2) plantar warts on both feet, which Doctor "killed" by freezing; and 3) a cholesterol spit under my left eye, which doctor said is fine & I can "treat" by addressing my overall cholesterol levels. Dr. Chiang practices out of their Pleasanton office on Saturdays, so I'll go there for my follow up. It's much closer, about 20 minutes away!

Social media makes it hard to distinguish between a 'famous' surgeon and a truly skilled one. I found Dr. Roy on a random Facebook find. Despite that random start, I felt immediately comfortable with him during my first consultation. He understood my goals immediately and he explained the process and expectations clearly. Still, I worried if "comfortable" meant "the best," but after two other consultations, no one else compared. He didn't upsell me on a lip lift, full face lift or upper eye blepharoplasty, which I appreciated. So we agreed on a neck, lower face, and brow lift. For context: I'm 55 and felt my neck looked 70, even though my face passed for early 40s (I was told ;-)). I felt like I didn't need a lot of work on my face. Hence, I was scared of looking "overdone" or worse than before. Dr. Roy is incredibly skillful - I am stunned by the results. My husband even says I look younger than on our wedding day 17 years ago! The result is so natural. I just look like my old self. The team (including Christine & Alex) is genuinely kind--not just "customer service" nice. Beyond his skill, the care was personal. Dr. Roy gave us his personal cell number and responded instantly during those first few days after surgery when my husband reached out to him with concerns/questions. My advice? Follow every pre & post-op instruction. They aren't optional. The first few days are tough, and you definitely need help, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Dr. Roy is a top-tier surgeon who doesn't need a Beverly Hills office or flashy marketing to prove it. There was a slight mishap as they wanted to charge $500 for our service but it was quickly corrected before we paid and they apologized for the miscommunication. I was told the appointment also included a consultation, which made little sense because I had already seen the doctor and knew exactly what treatment I was there for. I requested a refund of the $50 copay, which is currently being processed. While I appreciate that, it doesn't change the fact that I wasted approximately 40 minutes driving through Bay Area traffic for an appointment that should have been canceled or rescheduled in advance. In my experience, the staff were not particularly friendly or accommodating, and the overall communication and customer service were disappointing. I have PPO insurance and will be taking my business elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office. Since the cream that the doctor prescribed would most likely not be covered by insurance, the front desk staff recommended Wellness Pharmacy that would have it for much cheaper than a CVS or a Walgreens. I wanted to try my insurance first and so they sent it to CVS and when CVS confirmed the price for the cream, I called the office back and asked them to send it to the Wellness Pharmacy and they did so and I received a text confirming the same. The waiting room I was directed to had a screen with very useful information on caring for your skin, practical advise etc. while I waited. There was also a notice posted in the room about making sure that each patient asked all the questions they had and to leave satisfied and I liked that.
