This review is for Nichole. I have been going to her for over two years and have referred clients…read moreto her. She helped me grow out a pixie and her haircuts have been great until yesterday. When I sat in her chair, she commented how great my hair looked grown out. I said I wanted to continue to grow it out and she firmed stated "no." Then I said I wanted the hairstyle more blunt where the back is not shorter than the front and another "no." Finally I showed her a photo with cute bangs and a third "no" so all things I communicated I wanted in my hairstyle were dismissed. She stacked the back after communicating to her I how much I dislike this. The side are choppy with uneven layers. (see photos). While I appreciate Nichole's strong personality and opinions, at the end of the day I am the client paying for the service. Not once did she apologize or show concern in our text messages. She refunded the cut but it will be a year before it grows back to the length I had before this unfortunate incident.

She texted me, apologizing, so I went back. Huge mistake. I told her how important it was to me to keep growing out my hair and that I only wanted the bare minimum cut to keep it as long as possible and she cut several inches. Why did she do this? It's so upsetting. I just can't understand how this happened. I only wanted to clean up the dead ends. To add insult to injury, the price on Vagaro said $65 and she charged for a hundred. It's hard for me to stand up for myself and I just paid it without saying anything. This was the most expensive haircut of my life for a really bad experience. I deeply regret ever setting foot in that business. I'm so, so upset about my hair.

Short version: -Great location…read more-Super easy to get to and from on all modes of transit -Making appointments online makes life a little bit easier -I've had the best hair of my life since I started going to Sara Long version: I graduated college a couple of years ago and of course I wanted my hair to be the best it can be for the sake of photographs and a general sense of accomplishment because let's be honest, getting a degree in architecture does not feel as good as a fierce set of hair on your head. So off to the salon I went. I wasn't a regular anywhere back then because I never felt like I couldn't get a better cut somewhere else, so I decided to see the same person I had my last cut with. I'm not gonna get into the details, but I left the place in tears and sat in my car for a good 30 minutes hyperventilating and crying because graduation was in two days and I had just chopped all of my hair off. The next day I squeezed myself into Sara's full schedule for a rescue cut by jumping in after my friend got their hair dyed a beautiful brown-green gradient. I was honestly just hoping for a decent short pixie after the disaster of a cut I had gotten the day before but I walked out of Magdolls with a haircut that has made me a stronger and more confident person. Now I'm growing my hair out just so I can cut it again. No joke. Do yourself a favor and find a hairstylist. It will change your life. and if you're reading this, that means you're still looking for one so take my recommendation and go see Sara at Magdolls.

Welcome to my favorite salon…read more I started coming here a few years ago and wasn't sure what I was getting into. I had always done simple cuts and no color. But, I wanted to try something new. Katie immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. She both listens to what I want and advises me. Because of my history (look, I went to Great Clips and similar in the past), we have always taken a path of conservative exploration. Here, I adopted a shorter style, added highlights, and even explored a little purple once! And I am a customer for life. I "cheated" on her and got what was supposed to be a simple trim elsewhere. It was terrible, but Katie worked for months, as my hair grew, fixing that mistake. I told Katie I want styles and colors that don't need monthly maintenance and I am delighted with the results. Today I paid $165 for cut and color. It took about 3 hours and was filled with conversation. My impressions: The salon has large windows and is bright with high ceilings. There is water and tea at there front. It smells like a salon but isn't overpowering. It doesn't activate my allergies and I get headaches from walking down the cleaning aisle at the supermarket! The music is contemporary but accessible (Budapest by George Ezra and Take Me To Church by Hozier played today). The chairs are comfortable - I am plus size and fit nicely. This is an excellent salon that is welcoming, listens to what YOU want, advises you if you need it, and does GREAT WORK.
