Here's what stood out though: instead of feeling like it was time to dip out after the test ride, I ended up staying there for several hours just talking. Not because anyone was trying to "sell" me something the moment I walked through the door, but because they were genuinely great to talk to. I mostly worked with Josh and also spoke with the manager (super chill and easygoing) and a couple of other employees. At no point did I get the sense of "this is what YOU need." Instead, it felt more like, "Here are some options, let's talk bikes," with a few jokes thrown in along the way. In the end, I went with a different bike that they didn't sell. But the experience still left me wanting to support this shop any way I can. They have plenty of bikes that a great for most riders in the city, a knowledgeable staff, and fair pricing. Thanks to Joshua for the knowledge, help, and great conversation.

I brought my motorcycle in after a low-speed drop that left my steering feeling notchy. Shawn and the team did a thorough front-end inspection, including test riding the bike, checking alignment, and identifying that the steering head bearings needed to be replaced. On top of that, they had no issue honoring my request to double-check the wheel bearings, front suspension, and rear wheel alignment. It's now been 1,500 miles and a full track day since the service, and I'm still extremely satisfied with the results. The bike feels planted, smooth, and confidence-inspiring. If you're looking for honest, detail-oriented work and excellent support -- Tokyo Moto is the place to go. I'm very grateful for their help.

I've owned a Toyota for years, and I'm very particular about keeping up with scheduled maintenance…read more Because of that, I've spent a lot of time at the San Francisco Toyota Service Center, and my experiences there have consistently been very positive. Scheduling service is straightforward, especially online, and the overall process is efficient and predictable, which I really appreciate. I usually drop my car off early in the morning, and it's ready by the end of the day, or drop it early enough and then hang around for less than an hour before it is done. This makes it easy to work service appointments into a normal work schedule. That reliability goes a long way. What really stands out, though, is the service staff. The advisors I've worked with have been professional, courteous, and clear about what's being done and why. I've never felt rushed or talked down to, and communication has been solid from drop-off through pickup. Over time, this place has earned my trust. If you're looking for a Toyota service center in San Francisco that's organized, dependable, and staffed by people who know what they're doing, this one has treated me well.

My poor twenty-year-old car continues to attract random vandals in San Francisco. This time,…read moresomeone took what looked like a baseball bat to my driver's-side mirror. Eugenio is the man. Because of the positive experience I had with him last time at the service center on Geary Boulevard in the Inner Richmond, I brought my car here this time (he had moved to this location in the interim). Once again, he lived up to my expectations and was very communicative throughout what ended up being an annoying experience. None of the annoyingness was due to anything this place did. Rather, it took forever for me to get things working with my insurance, and when they finally got back to me, Eugenio was ready to take my car. I told him about the damage, asked him to inspect a few other items specific to my car, and had some non-vandalism work done (that I would pay for out of pocket). He agreed and got things rolling with the insurance adjuster they assigned to me. Unfortunately, Progressive randomly determined that the damage was due to a hit-and-run accident rather than vandalism, which I thought the evidence clearly showed, so rather than pay the $100 deductible I would pay under my comprehensive insurance, I had to pay the $500 collision deductible instead. Even the process of getting that straightened out took forever due to Progressive's lagging, so San Francisco Toyota had my car for almost an entire week before they (insurance) gave them the go-ahead. The real kicker for me was that Progressive didn't even pay the shop directly, so I could have had them fix everything right after they inspected it. (I paid Toyota, and Progressive is supposed to reimburse me the difference between the actual cost and my deductible. *Fingers crossed*.) The work was done professionally and well. I should say promptly too, which it was after all the insurance-caused delays. Eugenio helpfully provided photos of some of the other things I asked about and recommended some other repairs. I told him I'm just trying to get as much life out of this car as I can, and he totally understood and didn't try any kind of hard sale. In fact, that's why I like him and followed him here: He's honest and efficient. The physical setup here is also nicer than on Geary. There, you drive your car into a parking lot crammed with cars either waiting to be repaired or picked up, and you often have to wait in line in your car until someone can see you. At this location on Van Ness, you drive into the building, and because there's extremely limited space on the ground floor, they immediately move your car upstairs, even before you've finished talking to the service person. At first, it seemed sudden, but it also made it feel like the entire drop-off process went faster. When you pick your car up, they bring it down for you, no need to go searching in a parking lot for your car. The little waiting area is also very comfortable, although I didn't spend any time there except while I was paying my bill. As long as I have a Toyota in San Francisco, I'll continue to trust this San Francisco Toyota Service Center location for specific repairs, especially when insurance is paying for (part of) them. I would give them five stars except that it is a dealership, so the prices are on the higher end.
