I found this place while searching online for a tailor to repair a tear in my coat. The reviews…read moreseemed decent, so I felt comfortable bringing in three items for dry cleaning, including a $400 coat that needed a small repair. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The seamstress was not there when I dropped of the coat, they said that she will look and see if she can fix it and let me know by phone. I then find out that she "fixed" my coat without consulting me first, claiming the repair was necessary for the dry cleaning process. In doing so, she actually made the tear worse and ended up ruining the coat. When I tried to address the issue with the staff, the situation only got worse. The employees became defensive, rude, and belligerent. The interaction escalated to the point where I felt uncomfortable and unsafe in the store, as two male associates were behaving aggressively. I haven't even evaluated the quality of the dry cleaning yet, but at this point it's hard to say the service was worth the cost of a ruined $400 coat and the unpleasant treatment I received. It's especially disappointing because I had hoped I'd found a reliable dry cleaning and tailoring service close to home.

The first time I stopped by, I was new to the area and I stopped in with 3 slacks that needed to be hemmed. A pleasant young lady greeted me but seemed very confused by the process. She finally asked me my inseam and although I know my inseam, I go to a seamstress/tailor in order to be measured and have an exact fitting, not end up with a product that I could have gotten off the rack. The young lady ultimately did her best and pinned my slacks for the actual seamstress/tailor to sew. There were relatively inexpensive slacks so I was not too concerned with the outcome despite my hesitations. The next visit occurred just a few days ago. I called ahead due to my prior experience and asked if the seamstress/tailor was available; I was told that they were. I arrived 5 minutes later to meet with a very nice woman who once again asked me my inseam. I told informed her that I expected to have my slacked pinned and measured and due to her discomfort and the price of these specific slacks I decided to take my business elsewhere. Avis is literally 3 minutes from my home and it's unfortunate that I now have to drive over 30 minutes for reliable alterations. My experience seems to fall in line with the other reviews listed.

A-1 is only 10 minutes away from my job but it's an hour away from my house, which is way too far to drive just to pick up a dress, so I really only gave them about a day and a half window to alter it. If I hadn't explained my wedding situation to Anna, she said it wouldn't have been ready until Tuesday because they get very busy due to their location in a strip mall on a busy street. Luckily, she was happy to accommodate me and she said my dress would be ready before I even got out of work on Friday. BLESS. Anna did an AMAZING job on my dress and she's so kind. The price was great too! I only paid $24, but this alteration would've easily been a $50 job elsewhere. I'm so thankful I found this gem. Thanks, Yelp!
