Best donuts ever! Donuts are a little heavier, not super like like a puff, as some donuts can be. One is super satisfying and not leaving you feeling like maybe a second one is needed. The owner (i expect she's the owner) is very friendly and always so nice to my kids. My favorite is the maple donut and with each bite i taste a little bit of heaven. My kids always want the pink ones with sprinkles. I don't love that one, a bit too sweet and it is strawberry flavor. I like the classics!! Great prices, better than any other donut shop around, i believe. Even if it was a little more expensive I'd go here. Although it's one of the furthest donut shops from My house, I'll make the drive. The donuts were incredibly light, with just the right touch of crispness on the outer shell without being chewy or overdone. The fritter... as good as any I've ever had, maybe the best ever. Once again, just the right amount of crispness without being overdone -- and the inside done just right, moist without being doughy like fritters so often are. When I was little my mom would bring me to the Jelly Donut everyday before school. My order never changed; always a Chocolate glazed donut and a hot or cold chocolate milk. The donuts were consistent daily: warm, fresh, and plump. The service was also always on point with the friendly owners greeting us by name and remembering the order. That was years ago. When I visited this past week I must say that I am torn between how things at the Jelly Donut have changed. Aside from the banners on the wall for newer items the decor is pretty much the same. The most notable difference was that in the service. I was not greeted with the same friendly smile and hello from the owners, and instead waited to be greeted when I had a question. My question was regarding the day-old donuts marked off to the side and wondered if they were sold individually, which I was informed that they were not. That was okay considering my top favorites were not in the box. (Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate!) Being overcast outside I wanted that warm feeling in my hands of a hot tea, so I ordered one. What I didn't realize is that I would have the option of regular Lipton and a bag of what I presumed was green. I went with the green and there were no surprises. I wasn't offered lemon or anything of that sort after having my warm water placed in front of me. For the donut, I ordered a Chocolate Cake. It tasted fresh and not hard considering I visited mid-day. It was still great tasting and satisfied my craving for chocolate...that day. I'm torn for writing this review. I have always loved the Jelly Donut because of their great tasting donuts and community feel. When I was younger the locals would always be in their usual spot enjoying a morning coffee. What I'm struggling with is the quality of service from the employee behind the counter. While I was enjoying my donut and tea, the employee in question was loudly speaking on the phone while helping another customer. The customer had some questions as well, but they were left unanswered. I will still visit the Jelly Donut in the future; perhaps next time in the morning if I can catch the owners or any locals I can remember. The taste and sweet smell of the place is enough to bring me in again. It is worth the visit if you're looking for just a classic little donut shop; a little donut staple of Indio. read more

This is thee BEST place for donuts in the Easter Coachella Valley! The donuts are fresh and made with love. This shop is the real deal when it comes to a community staple. My father brought us here in early mornings and now I bring my daughter here. The family who runs this spot are real locals and are always polite and straight with you wether its your first time or 100th time here. The Jelly donut i would say in my opinion has the best ham and cheese crossaints I've tasted. There is just the right amount of cheese throughout the crossaint and the jalapeños give it just the right amount of spice. The customer service is very friendly and hospitable.
