Who doesn't love a fresh bagel in the morning? Outside of Einstein Bros I truly find it difficult to get a good quality bagel in the area. Unless there is a mom pop shop that I might have overlooked. Then oops! Nonetheless Jeff's Bagel Run surely came to save the day.
I stumbled across this bagel shop after scrolling on Facebook. They are currently doing a soft opening with a variety of freebie options as they launch their new location. I stopped in to receive a free bagel with spread. Also, if you share the grid opening online, they will give you a coupon for another free bagel on a different day. Double perks, right?
Now when walking in I was greeted by a worker that explained their concept of their bagels. They have a variety of bagel options to choose from. I won't lie. I have such a mindset and mentality that bagels have to be toasted, however, the concept of Jeff's bagels is that they are always boiled and never toasted. So it was kind of hard to get my mind to not want to ask for it toasted. I think I just like the warm concept.
Upon ordering I noticed a tray of samples. The young lady didn't initially talk about it until I asked after the fact. Apparently it was the blueberry bagel which was their daily special and I won't lie, it was spectacular. They have a different bagel of the day every day of the week. So I do think that is kind of cool that they rotate out a different one all the time. Although, I wonder if they would ever make any of those as permanent options for long-term consumption.
Nonetheless, I opted for a asiago everything bagel and I did a side of jalapeño spread. I did notice that they also tossed in a chive spread, which I am glad I did not opt for it as I did not feel like it was good at all. I am one of those taste test people where I like to lick the sauce before using it, and the chives tasted very oddly buttery, but in a weird way. Versus the jalapeño spread was creamy and full of flavor. It now makes me curious if they allow you to sample the spreads before choosing, but I do not know. It is worth asking!
Another odd thing that caught my attention is that they don't spread the cream onto your bagels. They put it in a cup, and you apply it yourself. I was kind of apprehensive as I am used to it being put on but workers, however, the explanation is that you can choose to put more or less and it is your choice. My only worry would be considering waste down the line with extra material being used. Although, I do see their point. Yet what if I were one of those "extra spread" people then hmm I wonder how that would go in that case.
Overall, the experience was wonderful, and the bagel was very fresh. So if you like savory definitely consider the consider the asiago everything bagel with the jalapeño spread! I won't lie. I will surely have to test out a sweet bagel next time I am in the area as I now have a coupon to return! Jeff's Bagel Run is surely giving Einstein Bros a run for their money as everything was amazing. Also they have seating inside and out and I believe WiFi as well if you want to make it a co work option for early morning people. Just make sure you wrap it up by 2pm because that's when they close! read more
