A year of suffering and a hospitalization had not led me to a solution or to the cause of my pain and rapid loss of mobility. After a series of weekly visits, I was guided back to normalcy. Some tips during treatment keep me on course. I will return for occasional visits as needed. Thank you, Dr. Barton, for your guidance, wisdom and empathy. I am 76 and I want to avoid surgery whenever I can and take care of my body.

Dr. Barton's office is tucked inside West Coast Neurology (Suite 175), and honestly? The whole…read moreplace feels surprisingly upbeat for a medical practice. There's a kind of warm energy buzzing through it. When I walked in, a few staff members immediately checked in with me--offered help, asked if I needed anything, and seemed like they meant it. It's the kind of place where you don't feel like an inconvenience for just... being there. Dr. Barton himself? Warm, sharp, unhurried. He asked specific questions, zero judgment, no rush--just actual conversation. You can tell he likes his job and takes it seriously. Also? He's a lot more personable than you'd expect from someone who's double-board-certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. (Which sounds a bit like a Marvel super-scientist resume, but I digress). ‍‍ Bottom line: if you're looking for a doctor who listens, thinks out loud with you, respects your time, and actually gives a damn--Dr. Barton checks every box, and then some.

No one was there and the office had a lock box on the door. Went to the office next door and was told that they were not there. I did some research and found out that Dr Christopher Aho was in trouble for substance abuse and was being sued for malpractice. His license was suspended and his practice was closed. No thank you! I will go to Cedars-Sinai for the best Neurosurgeon! This page needs to be taken down because it is false advertising! Never go to any physician unless you research them first. My pain management physician had no idea what was going on! I could have been mangled or worse.

From the beginning, Dr Aho was pretty amazing, he was very patient with me he explained everything to help me understand. He answered the ton of questions I had and He took his time, he didn't make me feel rushed, like some drs can. His office manager Sylvia was also very helpful and helped tremendously with all our paper work needs and appointments. If I had to say one negative thing, it would be the office can be a lil hard to get a hold of at times. They have both made our brain journey very smooth. And my husband is doing amazing!

Over the past several years, I had suffered from neck and back pain. I had been taking Vicodin and…read morewanted to get off the pain medication. I had tried over-the-counter pain medication, but it did not help. My condition had gotten so bad where I started to fall and lose my balance. I had a couple falls and had one incident where I had to go to ER, because I had fallen on both knees and couldn't walk, because of the bruises in my knees and didn't understand what was going on with me. I walked as if I was a drunk person and my balance was so off that when I walked it was like walking up and down a hill. My neurologist suggested that I get an MRI of my cervical spine done. After receiving the results, he explained to me that I didn't have much support (narrowing and herniated discs) in my cervical spine at C4-5 and C5-6 and referred me to see Dr. Haig Minassian, Neurosurgeon of Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, who specializes in this area. Dr. Minassian reviewed the MRI with me and explained to me in detail where my problem was coming from; he also did a few range-of- motion tests to check my balance. In the past, I had several Carpal Tunnel and Trigger Finger surgeries for the numbness and tingling sensations in my arms, palms, and fingers. The pain and numbness started to travel down to my legs. Dr. Minassian recommended that I have surgery to replace the discs at C4-5 and C5-6 with spacers and hold them up with a plate and screws. He assured me that I would be fine and was confident that surgery would be a success. I was a bit hesitant to have surgery, because I was unsure of the outcome; however, because of the amount of pain that I have been suffering from all these years, I decided to move forward. Immediately after surgery was done, I did not have any back pain (other than stiffness and pain at the surgical site) whatsoever. The numbness and tingling sensation were "completely" gone. He is a "miracle" doctor. I started feeling better four days post-op and I now feel at least "10" years younger. I am so grateful to Dr. Minassian for changing my life. I would highly recommend Dr. Haig Minassian to anyone who has suffered from any kind of neck, spine, or back pain. He is truly an "Amazing" physician. Thank you for my new life, Dr. Manassian!!!
