In October 2024, I began experiencing strange sensations in my toe that gradually spread throughout my body - burning, tingling, pain and pressure, muscle spasms and twitches, dizziness, ear pain, and other painful paresthesias. I saw nearly every specialist you can imagine--primary care, ENT, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, rheumatology, neurosurgery. Every test and scan came back normal. I was repeatedly dismissed, even as I grew more symptomatic and more desperate for answers. But I knew something wasn't right. For Dr. Barton: In July 2025, as a passenger, I was involved in a car accident. I sustained a concussion along with other injuries. I had difficulty sleeping, trouble concentrating, frequent headaches, and dizziness. I went from doctor to doctor and was offered various medications that made little to no difference. Fortunately, I was referred to neurologist, Dr. Barton. What immediately gave me comfort and confidence was his approach. Dr. Barton listened carefully, almost without interruption, and then began asking thoughtful questions. This was an unusually attentive and refreshing approach. He reviewed my previous test results and carefully evaluated all medications I had been taking. He explained: the good news was that, according to testing, my brain function was normal. The bad news was that I was clearly suffering. He decided not to prescribe additional medications, explaining that multiple medication trials had already failed. Instead, he referred me to a specialist using a specific post-concussion rehabilitation protocol he brought from his home country--one that had shown excellent results in many cases. Dr Barton seems be very educated in his field and is double board certified as he states. Upon meeting him for the first time, he speaks very well, seemed to be attentive but the second visit was very disappointing. I should of read his reviews prior to office visit. He seems to have 5 stars straight across the board and others that were negative were similar to my experience; he also referred me to Boris. I neither have the funds to pay for, $150 each visit and is too far for me to go. Everything that I told him about my pain, he negates it. Pain is very debilitating and every individual handles it differently.. I left his office not even trying to explain to him because he was very condescending. I gave up and just left the office. The cacophony of positive reviews led me to book an appointment with Dr. Barton. It took about six weeks until his next available appointment to see me. Dr. Barton listened to my concerns and documented my history and symptoms. He read through my previous tests with polite attention. He told me he knows how to fix me and wants to tell me but first he wants to explain what it likely is NOT. He said it could be (but is highly unlikely to be) caused by damage to my cervical spine. He said we could do an MRI of the area but insurance companies don't like to approve images of the neck and they are expensive. I found this a little odd for two reasons: 1. He never asked about potential injury or trauma to that area (of which I've had both) and 2. I've had MRIs plenty of times and have never fought with insurance to make it happen. But I'm intrigued to hear his solution so I set aside those concerns . He continues on and expressed empathy as he too experienced the same condition and suffered similar symptoms as me. Dr. Barton shares how this Massage Therapist helped cure him. He tells me his name is Boris and provided me with a snapshot of Boris's capabilities. When I inquired about number of visits I would need with Boris, Dr. Barton was unable to give me an answer but did say it would likely be regular maintenance. So, I left his office with no real solutions and a slip of paper with Boris's information on it. Later on I researched Boris and discovered his education and training to be underwhelming. I do not support chiropractic care at any level and felt a bit bamboozled that Dr. Barton would refer me to him. Not only because of his "specialty" but also because of his price; Boris charges $150 for a 20-30 minute session. That is not a long term solution and is definitely more expensive than an MRI. I am doing everything I can to mitigate the pain and was really hopeful Dr. Barton would have some solutions. Boris is not a solution and no others were presented. He gets two stars for his polite and kind demeanor. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Barton unless you're seeking alternative therapies for your condition. read more

I'm not a person who "goes to the doctor". I have turned to the chiropractor and accupuncture for many years due to my multiple experiences with car accidents. They helped manage pain and always gave me relief. I am not a fan of finding immediate relief through drugs. When I started having tingling up and down both my arms for a prolonged period of time I imagined that this might be the time to seek additional medical help. Dr. Barton was recommended to me. Having an appointment with a neurologist struck me as being a big step from my homeopathic naturopathic way of healing. I found doctor Barton to be very pleasant with a good sense of humor and he immediately put me at ease. He shared his philosophy with me about how he approached healing and it very much resonated with me .... I was left with the impression that he leaned more towards natural healing and was not reliant on just pharmaceuticals for treatment. He suggested that I sign up for his nerve study so we could more closely pinpoint what could be the underlying issues. He also ordered an MRI. What I learned from the MRI was that I have some spinal stenosis (scary). What I learned from the nerve test was that I had carpal tunnel syndrome in both arms! Who knew! So - my journey continues as I'm on my way to a spinal doctor to see how these discoveries tie into my past with car accidents and, I imagine, spinal stenosis. I appreciated Dr Barton's approach to healthcare, by exploring non-invasive, non pharmaceutical actions, as a first step to pain management. When I mentioned to him that I have been dealing with vertigo since 2001, he was the first doctor to recommend that I see an ENT specialist (every other doctor would just tell me it's crystals in the ear and there's nothing you can do about it), he suggested that we explore what other causes there might be. The specialists that he has sent me to have been first rate. I feel he takes a holistic approach to his patients care, and to paraphrase him on my initial visit "we want to do what we can to avoid having surgery or relying on pain medications, if possible".
