My car has been out of commission which is tough. I've had to rely on a neighbor to run errands. During my appointment today I was tired and doing the best I could to answer all her questions. Rather than showing empathy she said that lots of people deal with car issues and why was it so upsetting to me. Her solution was to prescribe antidepressants. I don't need antidepressants, I need a working car. If I had the energy I would seek care from another neurologist but I don't have the time or energy. Note to doctors. Put yourself in the shoes of you patient and offer sympathy not drugs. I felt she made a judgment call because of one bad day. Little things don't bother me but lack of transportation did this week. read more

I have been a patient for the last year of Dr. Yegiaian, of which I was very pleased with the services received by the doctor and her staff. A couple of weeks ago, I had an appointment with the doctor. Unfortunately I had an emergency in which I notified the office as soon as it opened that I needed to delay my appointment or change, whatever would be convenient for them. They advised me that since I did not notify them greater than 24 hrs prior, I would be responsible for a $50.00 Cancellation fee. As this was not a planned emergency I was under there 24 hours in advance policy being responsible to pay. OK fair. I asked when the next available appointment would be. The answer I received was she cannot make an appointment or discuss anything further until I pay the 50.00 penalty. I asked to speak with the doctor as I felt I was being treated by the doctors staff unfairly and felt the doctor should be made aware of how her staff treats its patients. Never received a return call from doctor I called the office again because I need to get medication refilled in the pharmacy. I was advised by my pharmacy that they never returned the request for medication refill. After not getting my refill prescription, and was told that unless I pay the 50.00, they would not approve the pharmacist request. I paid the 50.00, apparently that was more important than the patients health. Then they called pharmacy to release prescription. So now with my prescription getting filled, I asked about rescheduling my appointment. I was now given a option of 7bweeks from today. Don't believe the introduction on the answering machine either. If you need to speak to the doctor personally, press 3 for a personal message. I did that and again received a rude phone call from the doctors staff, instead of the doctor of why do I need to speak with the doctor. Unless it's a medical question, she will not answer my call. Apparently all that is important to them was money and not the patients health. My advice keep looking for a doctor that cares for its patients, more than 50.00. read more

Went for a consult for my daughter; it seems the doctor is all about money rather than actually helping patients. The office is completely white - not a good thing for those with illness that can be set off by bright lights. The staff stand over you till you fill out paperwork rather than sending to you ahead of time and you are required to pay for the visit up front . They do not take insurance but will bill the insurance if you ask them to. Dr may have left the big box teaching hospital but is running her business the same as the big box teaching hospitals - wants to do test, test and more tests, most likely in her office so she can get more money. My daughter was not feeling well and we had to wait, then the PA assigned had to keep leaving the visit room and kept asking us to wait as well she seemed tense and unsure. Parking is challenging - they don't tell you how to get into their parking underneath the bldg so we parked on the street using the one story open elevator to get into the front of the office - challenging with a wheelchair. We were never going back so left quickly and went home and spent the afternoon getting my daughter settled down. The next day I asked for a claim form for insurance and was told they had already submitted the claim. Okay fine. NOT FINE - they had the insurance pay them so they got paid double! When I called to get my refund I was told I had checked the box on the intake form allowing them to keep any monies from insurance for a year because it is "IN CASE THE INSURANCE CHANGES THE CHARGE AND THEY NEED TO HAVE PAYMENT TO COVER IT". Say what?! My insurance said they had never heard of that and the gal even took her time to call the office and was told the same thing. The insurance, because Dr is not a preferred provider, could do nothing. I ended up disputing the amount they were over payed with my credit card company and and it was refunded to me. Apparently it is not a good thing if they fight with the bank that takes their credit card payments. The other odd thing is that her bank is in Boston... Beware of her especially if you have illnesses that are rare and that you may test negative, i.e. you are seronegative. I firmly believe she is committed to the almighty dollar. If she has helped you, I'm really happy to hear that. IMHO, she is one of many bad drs who really should not be dr's. read more

In a time when it is the norm to be quickly dismissed by physicians of all specialties, Dr. Yegiaian is an oasis in the broken healthcare system. The end result of this comprehensive approach to patient care and treatment has resulted in many of my chronic medical issues being resolved by Dr. Yegiaian. True, there are times when it is necessary to wait well beyond a scheduled appointment time. After many, many, years of seeing 'hit and run' doctors who never take the time to find the root cause of a problem, it has literally been life changing for me to find a doctor who has been determined to solve my medical "mysteries." As a physical therapist and an ex administrator for physical rehab company who serviced over 18 hospitals, and work directly with neurologists, I am very impressed. I hear from my patient and family how she is compassionate and caring and skilled. The interaction I have had thus far is nothing short of what they are saying. She gave me her personal number to contact regarding this patient for any questions. I hate to bother MDs after hrs. I called her because of the patient emergency. She called back within 10 min. I apologized for bothering her but she was so sincere when she said it wasnt a bother. Spent the time working through the problem with me via the phone as I was with the patient. When I was seriously ill, I called the doctor's office to inform that I'm about to go ER so I can't go to my appointment. I was told there will be a $100 no show fee! So, I went to the clinic to show myself & show them how sick I was & I didn't want to pay $100 for no show fee. It's not the matter of the $100 but they need to understand the situation of their patients. When I walked into the clinic they said, oh they didn't know I was that sick & my answer was: am I lying to you???? I like to deal with people who care for the others & not materialistic people! Dr. Yegiaian, is beyond excellent. She is fully knowledgeable and up to date in her field as a Neurologist, a caring, and effective physician. I have seen many over the years, she is far the best. I can't recommend anyone higher as a patient and as a postdoctorate researcher. Also, she is out of my network and I have to pay out of pocket, not her fault, the way the new insurance, the "unaffordable health scare act" works. But, there is none better and even though I do not have the funds as a researcher for a 501 org, I go anyway and pay out of pocket, because she is worth it for my health care. Dr. Yegiaian is an amazing doctor. I have been suffering with severe headaches and as the years went by, they got more painful and longer. I found Dr. Yegiaian after suffering from a 4 day migraine. My neurologist at the time was non responsive and I was fortunate to have been able to get someone's canceled appointment right away. Dr. Yegiaian listened to all my symptoms and medical history. Her medical decisions were well thought out, and she was able to relieve the pain. Something that I could not do in 5 years, nor could the previous neurologist do. Her staff was amazing as well. There are so many wonderful things to say about Dr Yegaiain I don't know where to begin. She listens. She cares. She's an amazing doctor, and I know that not just because I have received great care, but when I have spoken to her colleagues and tech people in other offices (they always know what's up!) people rave about her. I had a crisis once and she called me at 10 pm from a charity dinner in Pasadena!!! I feel really lucky to have been referred to her. HER STAFF IS AMAZING TOO! One time I noticed I had an outstanding bill on my insurance company's website that clearly was a mistake. I saw this doctor about a year ago for headaches. She totally misdiagnosed me and ordered unnecessary tests. I saw other doctors after I saw Dr. Yeghiaian and they were all dumbfounded by her diagnosis. She is also very cold and arrogant and not caring. Dr. Y has been my neurologist for years. I'm guilty of being a stubborn patient sometimes.lol Im in shock of the bad reviews! I'm 70. Dr. Yegiaian is one of the best doctors I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of doctors. She was able to identify and resolve two health issues that were impacting my quality of life. I see Dr Yegiaian for my Seizures. She is such a great doctor. She is very caring and concerned. Definitely not like other doctors where it feels like they just see you for a couple minutes, ask a couple questions and then prescribe medication. Even when I didn't have an appointment and I had some problems going on she got back to me very QUICK and took the time to see me. I was so surprised. The waiting time is very minimal. Patients may choose to communicate through the portal with the doctor and her staff. For patients who are not able to utilize the computer, there is always the phone. They do not take 2 hour lunch breaks in the middle of the day, as do most medical offices, therefore maximizing the time for patients to call with concerns and to make and reschedule appointments. Dr. Yegiaian did a service by diagnosing me with POTS when no one else could figure it out, however she did a disservice by not using all the resources. She tried to treat me all herself but I was eventually referred to the Mayo Clinic by another neurologist and that's where I experienced the most transformative healing. She trained at Mayo and knows of the success of the Pain Rehab Program but strongly advised me against going saying I would just have a set back. My theory is that she knew how great it would be and I wouldn't go back to see her. If so, that theory was correct. I no longer need to see a neurologist because I have so drastically improved with Mayo's help. So, she's not all bad but don't settle on just one opinion when you feel stuck. read more

Was referred to Dr Yegiaian by Dr Turner's office for vertigo and made an appointment to see her. Before making an appointment I spoke with their office staff to see if they were in network for the select Blue Cross PPO provider and was told of course we are. So I made an appointment. I went to their office on appointment day and it is very sketch and complicated process to get to the office. You have to go into some structure press a button and they buzz you in. Then you park and someone meets you at your car. Which is a good thing because it is a total Get Smart situation to get to the actual office. Door after door. Finally get to the office and it is a newer office and very nice. They make you setup a portal access on a computer work station in the office. You give them your insurance card (I assumed they were verifying the benefits) and they came back that I owed a $40 co-pay for the visit and I paid that on the spot. The Dr saw me pretty quickly once I was in the room and she seemed nice. Very polite and really was interested in the "whole body" like a PCP not just the brain/head. At first I thought this was cool and then she prescribed a bunch of tests. I delayed getting the tests as I was out of town and when I got back into town I had a bill waiting for me for $424 for the visit saying my insurance did not cover any of it as she is OUT OF NETWORK. Apparently Dr. Yegiaian is not an in network doctor on the select blue cross PPO. These Drs see PPO and think no problem we are in network. There is a huge difference in the patient's financial responsibility from a Dr in network and to a Dr out of network on most insurance especially a PPO. Of course I called right away to discuss this with the Dr office and was told they would get back to me. Over the next few months I would get an email followed by an annoying automated robo call saying I owe money and to make a payment. I hate those robot messages. I would call her office and speak with Sarah who said she would talk to the Dr and then no return or follow up call. Next month - emails, robo call, and I would call them. Again told the same thing. After seeing I was not getting anywhere I paid a $200 payment on the FULL price amount for the services thinking she would settle for an amount she would have been paid if in fact she was in network as I was told when I was at the appointment. Boy was I wrong. Get this. They want the full $424 for their services even though they would not have gotten that much if she was in network. Does not make any sense. I told Sarah to unbill it from the insurance company and let me pay a cash price and she said that is the cash price. So beware if you find yourself looking for a neurologist and you go to Dr Yegiaian you better triple check that she is in network and do not leave it to her staff to verify. All they can say is sorry even though I have to pay more for her services than she would have gotten through insurance. Bad business practices. read more

I can't say enough about how thrilled I am with Dr. Yegiaian! She is a life saver! I was referred to her after I had an episode of uncontrollable tremors. She took me on as a patient immediately and treated me with a level of commitment that made me feel like a long term patient. I have some complicated, chronic health issues (ehlers-danlos syndrome, hemiplegic migraine) and she was extremely knowledgeable about both! I've dealt with some doctors who had never even heard of these conditions before. As a young woman with difficult to diagnose health issues, I have often times been written off as malingering, drug seeking or just anxious. Dr. Yegiaian has never made me feel unwanted or like I was a burden. She has absolutely committed to my care, and even figured out some other issues that had been bugging me but were never figured out (she figured out I have POTS and is helping me manage it). She so clearly loves what she does, and has taken an interest in my bizarre issues rather than become annoyed, which is how many doctors have responded to me. I actually get excited to see her because I know I am going to feel better after I leave. She also has one of the most beautiful offices I've ever been to. While that's not the most important thing, it is quite nice to be in such a gorgeous, spa-like environment - especially when you are going through some not so pleasant treatments. Dr. Yegiaian has provided some of the best medical care I have ever received, and I'm just sad it took me 26 years to find her. read more

My family met Dr. Yegiaian about two years ago. When she was still seeing her patients in the Huntington Hospital. She met my grandmother when she was very ill and weak. We had gone to a couple of doctors by then and none could figure out what was wrong with my grandmother. Dr. Yegiaian was very caring from the start. I remember her telling my grandmother "don't worry, we are going to get you strong again". and that she did. My grandmother went from barely able to stand up from the couch to taking her daily walks and getting up on her own now. The moment she opened her own office. We transferred over. Although, my family speaks only Spanish, Dr. yegiaian did her best to listen to my grandmothers needs. My family owes her a whole lot of thanks and this review was severely overdue. if you have any questions, her office staff are always so helpful. If you read this Dr. Yegiaian . Dr. Yegiaian is an excellent doctor, no doubt. She's very thorough, taking her time with her patients, at least she did with me. However, she takes very few insurance plans and so, patients with insurance she does not take must pay all costs up front. Her office does bill insurance, but then the office keeps the overpayment FOR A YEAR! Every person to whom I've explained this arrangement has been very surprised at this policy, including my other doctors. Consequently, because I'm in that category, I will not be returning to her office. I don't understand the reason for holding on to a patient's money and no one in the office could help me understand the reason for it. The office is beautiful and it does make a person wonder if patients like me, who are due the overpayment, are paying for some of that gorgeousness. In any case, if she takes your insurance, you'll be in excellent hands. If she doesn't take your insurance, be advised. read more

Dr. Yegiaian incorrectly diagnosed me and when questioned became very defensive. She exhibited behavior that can only be described, from my perspective, as unstable. I will say her assistant, Iris, is wonderful and professional. Iris spent a lot of time with me and genuinely seemed to care. I also liked her receptionists. They were friendly each time I went in.
