From the very first appointment, his kindness, compassion, and professionalism put me at ease. He took the time to clearly explain everything about the synovial cyst I had at L5-S1 that had immobilized me for years. Dr. Lobo made me feel completely taken care of. The day of surgery and my entire postoperative experience were flawless. Thanks to Dr. Lobo, years of pain have been lifted, and I can finally start living again. For that, I am forever grateful!

The doctors took x rays and MRI of my back to determine this. They started me off with pain meds that did nothing to ease the pain as well as an Epidural Steroid Injection in my back in L4 & L5 area. of my back. That did not work either to ease the extreme pain down both of my legs from my feet up to my butt when I stand or walk. Pain so bad I could not walk and one step away from needing a walker or wheelchair to get around. I walked hunched over. The only relief I got was when I was sitting or laying down. They finally gave up and told me to go to a pain clinic specialist. I spend the summer of 2025 going to a Chiropractors, Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine pain center pain specialist. I got PRP shots, Shockwave treatments and spinal decompression on a moving table to relieve pressure on my sciatic nerve 3 times a week. Insurance did not cover this. After tall this treatment, and $6000.00 later they told me there was nothing more they could do. I would need surgery to fix the problem. It took 10 months to tell me I needed surgery to fix my extreme pain in my legs preventing me from walking. What a waste of time. Why did I have to wait so long in pain before they stopped trying to hide the problem with pills and shots. Just fix the problem! As I was going through all this my neighbor just had a surgery on his back for pretty much the same problem. A sciatic nerve in his back was causing him pain down his right leg only. He had back surgery and came out of surgery the same day and was able to walk without pain. WOW! Who was this surgeon? I want his name. It was Dr Lobo of Neurosurgical Associate of Los Angeles. I made an appointment to see Dr Lobo to see about getting him to operate on my back and fix my problem. I gave him my MRI and he got an additional X-Ray to get more information he needed. I saw him on Sept 9th and I was in the operating room by Oct 23rd. That was quick. No more wasting time with shots and pills for pain. He went right to work. The operation was at Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia. They have an excellent staff there. The best place to be. After the operation I felt no pain at all. I was out of the hospital by 1pm. They wheeled me out to my car and was able to stand and walk from the wheel chair to the car without any pain like nothing ever happened. Amazing! I was at home resting in bed and was told recovery would be 4 to 6 weeks. After a few days my sciatic pain started to come back and my legs were in pain once again. As time went on the pain was as bad as it was before the operation. I went back to see Dr Lobo on Nov 4th. He said because I was able to walk to the car after the surgery, the surgery was a success. I must be suffering from sciatica inflammation and gave me a prescription of Prednisone to be taken over the next 15 days. The pain was starting to get better for the first 4 days then on the 5th day it all started to come back. I thought I was doomed to have this pain the rest of my life. On the 9th day, Nov 13th I woke up and the pain all went away. No more pain at all and it never came back. On Nov 18th I had my followup with Dr. Lobo. Told him my experience with the days after prednisone and he said that was normal. Your inflammation is gone and the operation was a complete success! After over year I am finally PAIN FREE thanks to Dr Lobo. I spent an entire year in pain for nothing. I wish I had see Dr. Lobo on Day 1. Dr. Lobo is a great doctor. He will spend time with you and explain your condition and what needs to be done to fix it. No BS with drugs and shots to try to hide the pain. Instead Dr Lobo fixes the problem that is causing the pain! Don't waste time like I did suffering for over a year with this horrible pain. Go see Dr. Lobo and get your sciatica problem fixed. I will also tell you that at no time did I have any pain at all from the actual back operation. My back was fine. It has a very small scar and that is all. The operation was totally painless!!!!!! Don't be afraid of this back surgery at all! Dr Lobo is the best!!!! Dr. Bjorn Lobo is a board-certified and dual fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in spine surgery and brain tumor surgery. Thank you Dr. Lobo! Bob Meza Canyon Country

I have had two surgeries performed by Dr. Ladner in the past 10 weeks. My initial impression was…read morethat he is a very young surgeon, which concerned me a bit. I can now without hesitation add that he is also an extremely talented surgeon, regardless of his age. I appreciate that he takes the time to patiently answer in detail, any and all of my questions. He is confident without coming across the least bit arrogant or overly self-important, like so many others in his line of work. I am the sort of patient who does a great deal of research into the condition I am facing, the available methods used to treat the condition, as well as the potential outcomes. Unfortunately this approach can be somewhat off-putting from the perspective of the physician, and the subsequent reaction is often a defensive one. Thankfully however, Dr. Ladner does not suffer from any of these shortcomings. He seemed to enjoy discussing whatever material I would bring to the given conversation. He was in no way resistant to ideas that reached beyond the scope of time-honored, conservative approaches to treatment, but rather openly acknowledged recent advances and welcomed for consideration the newest treatment developments. I have found these to be areas where a physician's ego can really get in the way of the best possible outcome for the patient. Dr. Ladner, on the contrary, puts the ideal outcome in the crosshairs of his focus. By now it should be obvious that he left a great impression on me, which says a lot, because I would not hesitate to just as easily criticize him here if my experience with him warranted that. If it comes to be that he is your attending physician, rest easy with the knowlege that you are in very good hands. Lastly, I want to add that his front office staff, Alex and Crystal specifically, have always been warm and personable. It is my belief that the disposition of a receptionist in a doctor's office is a big indication of the "climate" that exists around the physician they work for. I can call Dr Ladner's office and in under one minute, be speaking to a pleasant, competent professional, rather than navigating a seemingly endless automated menu protocol and left on hold for an undetermined amount of my day. Dr. Ladner must treat his staff well because they never come across as stressed-out, cold, disconnected or indifferent. Bravo team Ladner!

Although I live in Long Beach and had limited time to visit in person, Dr. Melikian was kind enough to initiate contact via email and responded promptly. He arranged a quick phone consultation at no charge. He came across as very amiable, genuinely concerned, and highly knowledgeable about the subject. During our conversation, he brought up additional tests and treatment options I wasn't previously aware of. The call was definitely productive and appreciated. My only gripe, generally speaking--not specific to his practice--is that stem cell treatments are exorbitantly priced and not covered by insurance. Expect to pay anywhere from $6,000 to $9,000 or more for various stem cell treatment options. So, not a go just yet until I figure out how to come up with the money, I will have to live with my back pain.
