We got there an hour and half before the my closed and you could tell the hostess wasn't thrilled. We had a party of 7 after a baseball doubleheader. However our server, Erin, was phenomenal! The food took 45 minutes to come out and there was no one else there but us. When the food came out it was cold like it had been sitting there. Decided to give this a try. They offer a kids eat free here on a specific day, which is a pretty cool gimmick. The service was good, the ambiance with all the drawn on dollar bills was an interesting touch, though defacing U.S. currency shouldn't be encouraged. It's raining outside and the ceiling fans are running at full blast in some areas of the restaurant. I politely asked if the one near us could be turned down and they refused. We were not the only ones freezing, the poor waitress was freezing as well. I find it amazing the business flat out refused to even lower the speed. Very poor customer service by the manager on duty. I've went to Jefferson's four separate times last year. I keep trying to give it another chance believing it was just one bad experience. Each time was the exact same as the last. The one in Albertville is the main one we would go to. The service and food overall is mediocre. The food, always came out cold and I don't know if it's cause we sat for hours waiting for it or if it just wasn't cooked properly. (Which would be a health hazard) The waitress had to discount it once because it took almost 2 and a half hours to get to us. (No exaggeration because we actually timed it the third time as a joke because of how long the last two waits were.) We were with our kids and their food and my food was cold. You're losing money there if you have to discount meals for waiting too long. Especially if the food being served too late or cold enough to be sent back to be either heated in a microwave or remade and have to throw it out. The waitresses are nice, they seem a little down, probably from other customers being rude or unsatisfied. The one waitress who gave us the discount was really trying her best. I think you have a good staff, but I believe you're just missing something to where all of this could be avoided for a lot of customers. I see I'm not the only one with the same experience of wait times and food being served cold. I've ate out at a lot of restaurants in my lifetime, an hour or two when it's busy, understandable, that's how it was at the Scottsboro Jefferson's, but when there's only 5 tables filled up on their least busy day I can't find an excuse for it, my sister works in the food service industry. We always try to go with the least amount of people there. I understand it's mentioned in your about us that it's meant to be a laid back restaurant, that's nice, but I think there's some improvement needed. I'd honestly be fine with rude waitresses if it meant my food was hot and came in good time. I'd really like to come back and not have food being cold, sent back, it taking too long, and us having the same experience each time. I don't find myself complaining about anything much. I'm pregnant now and find myself craving the fries jalapenos. Hopefully service, food quality and the overall ambiance has improved since the last time we went in October. I'd love to return and stay a customer along with my husband who adored the place before we got together, but has since had a bad experience all four times. He always gets the wings, so when his food came out cold we stopped going altogether cause he worked in the food industry too and found it unacceptable to return at that point. Thank you for reading. Ordered takeout, after saying never again, and they lived up to low expectations....had hoped for improvement. First, not ready in time they said would be...over 15 min longer, even though did not appear too busy. Second, sauces not as tasteful or spicy, and was watery. Only good sauce was garlic Parmesan. I hate to leave bad reviews but this Jefferson's is not like the other ones . We waited an hr for our food and the restaurant was not even packed . A lot of young people work here and they are goofing off quite a bit . I can understand being understaffed but they had a lot of workers . The wings my boys got weren't that good either . Good atmosphere when you first walk in, especially on game day. But for starters the waitress talked loudly, obnoxiously, and like she ate cigarettes like you for breakfast. When I ordered my wings i wanted them tossed in 2 different sauces, Parmesan garlic/ hot. When the wings arrived to the table. It looked like the grinch splooged a load onto them after a couple of off days. I tried one because it's not christmas and the wing was 90% bread 10% meat no exaggeration. After I sent the wings back, and ordered a philly cheesesteak, I couldn't even eat it because it was so greasy and nasty looking. And to top everything else off, when everybody was about to leave, the waitress started to wipe the table off while we were still at the table and knocked a full ranch cup onto my shirt and acted like nothing happened. I gave this rating only because the service was good. Ordered fried pickles. The pickles were so thin you could not taste the pickle. Ordered a black bean burger and was served a regular beef burger. When the order was corrected the burger was burnt. Ordered fried oysters. I have never been served such small oysters in my life. Plus they were only lukewarm. About all I got was crust. I wish to relay an experience I had on Friday the 8th, 2018 at your Albertville, Alabama location. This is the contents of a complaint I sent to corporate, and after a very good few days still have not heard back. So here it goes where maybe it might get answered. We had visited your (Albertville) location the past few days that week and we had not had any problems until this night. We walked in. and we ordered. We all ordered appetizers and drinks. The appetizers we're fine. The drinks we're fine. It was slow getting refills, but it was a busy night. We ordered food. I had ordered a hamburger steak platter with coleslaw and a side salad. I ate the coleslaw. Then I bit into the steak. Absolutely salty. The gravy tasted incredibly, indelibly salty. So we tried to get a server's attention. We did not get attention until my two other guests with me had finished their own dinners. The servers had no idea what to do, and what I ended up was a 5 dollar comp and asking if I wanted to order something else, after being told the gravy was 'expired'. /Five dollars/. For a tiny bowl of coleslaw, since I ate /nothing else/ on that plate. FOR EXPIRED FOOD. My husband with me, decided that was not fair, and walked to speak to the manager, directly. He explained what was going on, and he (my husband) also lodged his own observations about the messy bathroom was. Where in, he was told again that, the gravy was expired- and that 'someone had just thrown up in the bathroom and that's why it's messy'. Thrown up. After eating the food there. After being told I had eaten expired, inedible salty gravy. I want a resolution to this, because I do think I'm owed for a week ruining experience like this, but I don't think I'm going to get one. This place is a great sports bar. Lots of memorabilia on the walls. I've never had a bad meal here. I love Jefferson's. I say all that to say this... the purpose of my Yelp account is to review places on their beer selection, and it's hard when one of your favorite restaurants carries nothing in the way of craft beer. Yuengling, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams Boston Lager are the only three. Occasionally I believe they've had a Sam Adams Seasonal, but it's rare. It depresses me because there are some great breweries that are local to the restaurant, and they are on the distribution for the restaurant, and yet they're not available at the restaurant. On the plus side, they do daily specials on their beer, and one of my favorites is $2 Yuengling draft. Good for when you need a drink on a budget! So, in conclusion, food and service gets five stars. Beer selection gets 1. Evened out at 3. NOTE: If you are looking for food reviews, please disregard mine. Again, I love the food here. If I could give a negative star, I would. We waited 20 minutes on our drinks. We waited thirty minutes for the waitress to ask for our food order. Then, we never were checked on again. The waitress had 3 tables at the most. We had to ask our waitress to check on our food and we waited another ten minutes. Then we cancelled our order. Then paid for our drinks with cash on the table. She chased us into the parking lot to tell us we must pay for our drinks, but not our food (that was never delivered). I came in at 7:00 pm on a Mon evening by myself since my wife was out of town on business. The sports bar restaurant was about 25% occupied. The sever took my order of 10 traditional wings (actually received 15) with medium sauce, chips and salsa, celery and ranch. The wings were cooked on the med-well side not slimy undercooked as many restaurants do them. I really prefer chicken done but not dried out tough. The sauce was not sloppy covering the wings and had a good flavor but was more tame with less heat for medium than I'm used to. I chose the chips and salsa instead of fries. The homemade salsa is terrific with a nice mix of spices, minced onion, and tomatoes not canned and serving is bottomless. My server came by 3 times after taking my order not including the check. I'm usually irritated by servers that come by ever 3 min as much as those that rarely check on you. Excellent meal, pleasant prompt service, plenty of big screen TVs. I'll be back to try more of the menu in the future. I just wish sports bars would add subtitles to Sports Center and conversation shows. It seems pointless to have talking heads without the conversation. Cost $9.68 for meal, $2.50 for sweet tea, $2.50 tip Total $15.78 incl tax. read more
