It saddens me to see the 1-3 star reviews amongst so many 5 star reviews. I have eaten there "several many" times and always enjoyed it! The food (especially the low country boil and the crawfish) have always been my favorites! The ambience is rustic, country and bayou. The service is down home friendly! Buyer beware. Crawmama's advertises a weekend royal reds special for $13.99. I ordered the special and pointed to it as I was ordering off the weekend menu. When the bill arrived my "royal reds" were $30. When i questioned the waitress she just said oh I'm sorry you got the bigger meal. Right but not what i ordered. This feels very much like a scam. Especially since the "royal reds" looked and tasted more like Argentina red shrimp. Two stars for a nice breeze on the outdoor patio. read more

Great service and live music, at least on a Friday night. My waitress Jessica was fantastic. As I was not very hungry, I only ordered two pounds of whole crawfish. As I know that they are out of season, the frozen ones that I got, were ok, but there was way too much salty seasoning. Our waiter was good. It seems like she said it was her first time or something like that. Although im not a big fan of seafood and stuff like that I got 1 pound of crawfish and and coke for probably around 15$. If you like sea food you would probably like it at crawmamas my friend got some alligator something and id recommend getting those. I mean its kinda hot in there they have a bunch of fans running a little bit loud but it like a experience it stuff to look at on walls and dollars on the walls. Alright so the server is the main reason they are getting a 3 as well as the crab boil was waaayyy to salty, so much so that it overpowered the cajun spice. It was like they scooped all the salt from the boil stock pot. I think im bloating as i write this . I mean, yea south likes salt. I like salt but not like that. Fried shrimp was good, boiled shrimp was good. Oysters were lackluster. Corn was good. Okra was good. Server was horrible. Phones will rot someone's brain. She just went through the motions. Not a good experience and they put us in the back corner by the sandbox. If i had kids, sure. Felt like there were better seating options readily available. Live entertainment was good. Mixed bag experience tonight. Pros: ambience like a beach bar, awesome! Dollars and license plates all over the walls, wood picnic tables everywhere inside, live music, cool t shirts. Super friendly (& ninja fast!) staff everywhere and the bartenders made fantastic drinks! Shrimp, corn, sausage (from the boil) were good. Cons: CANNOT recommend the boiled crawfish. We were so so excited to find a crawfish place and so disappointed (this was also our anniversary dinner!). They were so bad I was afraid to order anything else, even fried. We have eaten and made a lot of crawdads (husband is from Louisiana) and have had over cooked, under spiced, over spiced - all still edible. These were by far the worst we've ever had and neither of us could finish them. I truly hope we don't get sick. They were very overcooked and tasted like a cross between sewage and old grease. Tried to suck the heads and give several a try in case it was a fluke but they were all really awful. I have a friend I trust who says her family loves this place so maybe I will give it another try once I find out what she liked from there. Crawfish boil : Seafood was sub par - crawfish were old and didn't taste great. Shrimp were overcooked. Sausage , potatoes and corn were very salty. People were friendly and atmosphere is very relaxed. Dad ordered catfish filets, bro had blackened grouper, and I tried gumbo. All of us agreed our entrees were not very good. My gumbo was meh: non-descript stringy meat and brown sauce blandly flavored. Grouper was under seasoned and over cooked. Catfish was thin and over cooked. I had to change my review from a 5 star to a one star. I brought people with me tonight that are visiting. The food come out before the appetizers, by a long shot. Had to beg for refills on drink. We had to beg for them to bring the rest of our food. We have a table of 6, they said we are going to discount your ticket 20%, I do not want anything discounted. We had to find our own cocktail sauce and ketchup. After I confronted them about the rest of our food they never brought us any more drink or dipping butter. I asked to speak to Kathryn and she was busy and could not come to the table. I have always been the biggest supporter for small business. When I walked in, I realized they have no AC... I almost walked, but glad I didn't. The air is kept moving, so the heat wasn't so bad (it was 91 outside). First the staff; really friendly, and seem to care if you're happy. The Boil is on the September specials, so for $16.99 I got a pound of crawfish, 1/2 lb boiled shrimp, smoked sausage and the fixins. I'd give 5 stars, but as is typical in this area, the seafood was a tad over cooked, but not to the rubbery point. Overall, a great meal. read more

So being from the Coast I wanted to try their Crawfish. The name is Crawmamas. So I was trying to beat my craving. The taste was okay, they have a lot of improving to do. They were a bit dry, and under seasoned. I only had the crawfish though, I can't recommend any of their other dishes. Nor can I give you my opinion. Do better on the crawfish though. This was our second visit to the restaurant, the first was close to a year ago, and from what I remember about the place, the food this time around, had declined. The first time we visited this place, I raved and told many people about it, yes the food is expensive here but you got a decent amount and the shrimp were unbelievable large, actually the largest shrimp I've ever had, anywhere.. The service was decent and everything went well.. But on this visit (Yesterday, June 8, 2013) everything had changed.. First off our bill was $65 after tip, we started with the alligator tail appetizer, and ended with two pick your own seafood choices with two choices each, which cost 20.00 each. Between us we had the coconut shrimp, crab cakes, fried shrimp and crab claws. The coconut shrimp was overcooked on the outside and the inside was still mushy, I guess they flash fried it, the crab cakes were overly strong with a celery taste and the crab claws were overcooked and the meat would barely come off of the claw, to the point they were almost impossible to eat. And the curly fries that we had, my girlfriend described them as having a plastic taste, mine didn't taste that good either.. They did taste odd.. Our server forgot about us, and after finishing eating we waited for a long time to get our check, and finally decided to just get up and head to the cash register where they couldn't even find our check. We told them what table and what server we had and that still caused problems. A good 5-10 minutes passed and we finally got the check and paid. During the meal we were only checked on twice and our food was even brought out by another server, not our own. All in all, for the price of this place to the quality of the meal and service, I don't plan on returning after this visit. As I Said Before, the first visit we had here went great, food was great, service was great.. and if yesterday's visit had been like that then I wouldn't have a problem going back.. but it wasn't. read more

We were seated, literally at the same table as another family, no one was wearing masks (it's still the law, it's still the right thing to do), the restaurant had to be at capacity or more. It was so loud, people coughing, cigarette smoke everywhere. We did not even order. We sat down and got right back up and left. It's because of people like this that this virus won't go away. I love coming here! Best crab legs away from the beach! Don't expect an upscale atmosphere, but I love it. It reminds me of somewhere you'd eat at at the beach. It's a little hole in the wall but with great shrimp and crab legs. Definitely worth a shot! Updating my review... crawmamas seems to have gone downhill in the past year or so. Went back for my birthday in July and the service was super slow and it wasn't not busy. Food was average. Will probably go somewhere else for my birthday from now on. read more
