    Lobster bisque
    Ashley S.

We were told about JD's, so decided to try them out while in town. We went on a Saturday around lunch time and we must have gotten there at a great time because it wasn't packed. We were immediately greeted and sat at a booth. Our waitress then came and took our orders, Both the waitress and the hostess were very nice and welcoming. As I was walking to our booth, I noticed another customer with an entrée that I wanted to try. After asking our waitress, I tried the Cajun Tilapia dish with Shrimp. This dish was actually pretty tasty. I wasn't expecting it to be that well seasoned, but it was very delicious. It also came with rice and corn, so it was very filling. We also tried the Spicy Risotto balls, which were also surprisingly delicious. The only dish I felt needed to be a little more refined was the Lobster bisque. It wasn't bad. It was creamy, but it needed more seasoning and wasn't as "fresh" tasting. Nonetheless, great visit to JD's and definitely would come back.

    Spaghetti

I, along with two others, had lunch here. We were not disappointed. I got the spaghetti and really it was some of the best I have ever had. The noodles were just right (slightly al dente). The homemade sauce had a good consistency and was very tasty. Excellent and a nice portion size, too! I also got the crab bisque and it too was very good! The others got a stuffed baked potato and the country fried steak. They liked both of their dishes. The server did a good job. The ambiance is not the best (a little run down), but the food and service are top notch.

Stir Fry- the best I've ever had!

It is the of our favs! The prime rib on the weekends is wonderful. Recommend calling to reserve it. We have tried almost all of the entrees and they have been wonderful.

We are new to the area from the Washington DC suburbs. Husband and I tried this place out about month ago. and I have to say it was really good. He had the pasta special. I had tortellini. Portion sides were big. Services was friendly and attentive. I came back to get a lunch order. Chicken Parm subs. One recommendation for the own. You need a much bigger sign. We almost missed the turn finding the place. Like I would move the flam logo to the left of the JD's Grill and make the wording much bigger. Just saying.

    Prime rib.

Yucky, soggy and undercooked. I'm new to the area and this was a huge expensive mistake. Just don't do it.

The chicken and spinach filling is delicious and the noodles are perfectly cooked. The Caesar salad has a nice twang to it and it was very well chilled which I really prefer. The Bruschetta is my favorite appetizer and i love the olives with the balsamic glaze and cheese, it's different but very tasty. Not really a fan of the scampi or the angel hair pasta dishes since those seem to be overcooked each time, but the cannelloni really did it for me this time. The service is great, drinks were constantly being filled and wasn't in a rush to order. Each waitress/waiter has been nice and attentive. The atmosphere is nice, laid back, nothing fancy, but just a nice casual dining experience. On super busy night it can be a bit loud, but if you go early for lunch or their early bird dinner specials it's perfect.

Service was great. Krissy was an excellent server. We three had the cheese fritters, an appetizer pizza, seafood paella, gumbo, and the fettuccine imperial. All were tasty and came out hot. Dessert was a passable tiramisu and what may have been the best pistachio gelato I've tasted. We had a nice time and would certainly dine here again.

We had reservations for Sister and me last Tuesday when the tornadoes were rolling around North Alabama, to celebrate her birthday a couple of days late. The weather was a benefit for us because everyone but us cancelled their reservations in the non-smoking dining room - meaning, we had the whole place to ourselves! We both got the 6 oz filets, and I mentioned to our server that I wanted mine seared on the outside and medium internally. He says, "Oh that's Pittsburgh style," which I had never heard of. Sister got her's "Pittsburgh style" too with medium-rare as her temp. Both steaks were seared beautifully and absolutely exceptional quality! I didn't have to add any salt/pepper or use the sauce they provided. A really sweet gesture was the birthday card waiting for us on our two-top! We ordered appetizers to share: fried green tomatoes and crab cakes. Both were great with my preference being the crab cakes, although I'll ask them to sear them more when I return. Our side salads (Caesar for me and house for Sister) were fresh and delicious! They've stopped serving the bread sticks when you are seated and instead serve fresh bread (a slicked roll). Sister loved her lemon dessert! Their pinot grigio was a steal, at I think $24.00/bottle and was good! Our server was so attentive, replacing all silverware with each course, using that hand-held "sweeper" to capture any crumbs on the table and keeping my vino topped off. He was kind to keep us posted on the tumultuous weather on his phone and by checking the TVs in the adjacent dining room/cigar room/bar. It was lovely to see the Chef, our classmate Joey, and visit with him and to have the dining room all to ourselves! Thanks, Nick's for making another wonderful memory! I look forward to future visits!

It was around 1pm if management or owners read this. He was great. Great beer selection even though I was on work time so I had tea. Got the lunch special. The Cesar salad was big, dressing was good. Both the croutons and the dressing seemed homemade. Still had salad left but jumped to the pizza when it arrived. The Deluxe without onions, thin crust. Delicious!! Ingredients tasted fresh, nice crust. Perfect size for one person at lunch. Honestly I was a little full from the salad but there was no way I wasn't finishing that pizza!! Bathrooms were clean which is always a win in my book. The pictures on the wall didn't really have an explanation-would have loved to know more there. Tons of TV around with sports on. We were greeted and immediately seated. John was our server and very attentive despite handling most of the tables. We ordered waters all around, lemonade for the children, root beer (Tap was the only available option-but was definitely the best option! Heads up, no refills) and a virgin seasonal caramel apple ginger beer which was very tasty. The ginger beer could have been stronger but that's my personal preference. We started with the whipped ricotta and toast-the bread was warm and the hint of black pepper with the honey set it apart from others we've tried. We also had the Italian salad-pretty standard and more spring mix heavy than anything but still good. Maybe put the dressing on the side. We ordered Nick the Greek and BYO pineapple/green olive pizzas. Regular crust and housemade marinara sauce. The crust was good-just the right amount of airy and delicious. My only complaint here is the sun-dried tomatoes-and I love sun-dried tomatoes. They are put on top almost as an afterthought-maybe for texture. Rehydrating them may help? The BYO pizza was solid. I was surprised that my child really enjoyed the caramelized pineapple-they are more of a traditional pineapple pizza person. Oh, the Parmesan cheese is served in this cute containers! We finished the meal with a pizzokie-very gooey in the center, crispy edges and delicious ice cream. Overall, a great pizza option for Huntsville. I recognized the owner from the social media pages and while he was working alongside his employees-which I appreciated-he only interacted with "the regulars". It's always a nice touch the have an owner stop by your table, again my personal opinion. Would definitely visit again!
