Local joint in Rainesville, Alabama. Have come here for lunch and breakfast. Both very good, especially for the price. Good food and affordable- solid combo Lunch has a menu but I have eaten off the meat and vegetable bar. Grilled chicken was tender and veggies were flavorful Breakfast had the steak and eggs. Steak was cooked right with good flavor. And eggs were soft. And the coffee - right on point. Best part if this place isn't even the food. The people there make you feel welcomed. I liked patty melt ($7). Wife and daughter got BLTs ($7 a piece), both didn't like, both only ate half. Shared app off fried pickles, ok for $5. $31 after tax, $35 after tip. Hmmm.. not worth it. Place closed in ten minutes as I was leaving. Door was locked, no one at door, had to unlock myself. Bet the local Fire Marshall would love that if there was a fire. read more

I stumbled upon this place and took a chance - and hit the jackpot. The food here is as fresh as it gets. Everything is prepared on the premises daily, and they are generous with the portions. I had the spicy barbecue chicken which was tender and flavorful. The sweet potatoes were amazing, and I could have eaten an entire plate of them as a guilty pleasure. I had to choose between fried okra and macaroni and cheese, and that was hard, since they both looked delicious. I went for the mac and cheese, which was fresh and lighter than most versions I have tried. It is worth the detour from the highway to enjoy a fresh and delicious meal here. I absolutely love Kelly's kitchen. They have the best home cooked food around. Love the lunch specials. So good. Also, very friendly staff who is always there for you We were scrambling to try to get thanksgiving together this year. My grandmother was always able to do a good bit and this year had been in the hospital and stuff, so we found ourselves up in the air about thanksgiving. Hard that Kelly's did dressing and decided to check them out. We ordered a large pan of dressing with a pint of gravy. The dressing was wonderful. I would recommend that to anybody for the next holiday season. read more
