Ribeye cooked medium with skillet fried potatoes

Each time we have been here, the Owner greats us in the parking lot and spend the evening going from table to table greeting and making sure everyone is satisfied. The food?? THE BEST steak ever! Cooked over an open hickory fire and perfect! The atmosphere is lovely and the Staff are awesome! I don't eat desserts, but they look amazing!!

    Everything was perfect..

Ate this evening (8/29) and it was a really great experience! Everything fried was crispy but not greasy (excellent hush puppies!) and the steak special was a great value. Service was on point, and the entire place has a relaxed home style vibe our family appreciated. In my opinion the star of the show wasn't my steak- it was the peanut butter pie! Definitely some of the best I've had. We'll definitely be making a return trip to check out a few other items!

Probably the best steak I have ever eaten. We each had the 12oz. Ribeye and they were cooked just right, the dinner salad was very fresh, baked sweet potatoes were melt in your mouth delicious and the fried mushrooms were an excellent appetizer. The servers were great and the owner came to our table to greet us and checked on us later also. We drove 55 minutes one way and it was worth the drive. Bring cash and get a 10% discount on your bill. The building was once a cotton gin and has a lot of character on the inside.

Heard about Ole Gin and have been trying to get up there to check it out... one word - Fantastic! Breanna took GREAT care of us and made sure everything was perfect - even the GF/DF needs of the wife! Owner (didn't catch his name) came by and is a super nice, down to earth good guy - you can tell quickly talking to him, and it trickles down to his employees! The steaks were extremely delicious- very good flavor and cooked perfectly to our request. Baked sweet potatoes were the best we've ever had! The decor/ambiance is a step back in time! Oh, and it's truly an old cotton gin, 100% metal building, so NO cell signal! Made the experience even better!

The best customer service. Amazing food. The desserts are off the chain. It's worth the drive and I highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant. The ambiance is very casual and they make you feel at home.

Was attending a conference up in Guntersville when one of my colleagues suggested this place. So, we all decided to get dinner there. Even though the place was hard to find, we eventually arrived. The service was top notch and I had one of the best ribeye steaks I have ever eaten. I mean the kind where you don't need any sauce!!! I definitely will go back next time I am in that area. Great place to relax and eat.

    12oz Rib Eye Steak

We absolutely loved our food! It was delicious! The steak was so tender and juicy, the sweet potato was the best I've ever had. We will be returning next time we are in town. The service was outstanding as well, we were well taken care of! A great environment.

Not only…read moredo you have a wonderful selection of meat, the steak we picked up you cut for us to our desired thickness. So you are looking for a huge steak, or a wicked good deal on chicken breast, or actually those square lunchroom pizzas from your child hood memory, Guess where you go, Patrick's. Yes, crispitos, cheese sticks, Mexican pizza, square pepperoni pizza, you name it, and they have it (unless they are sold out). But don't kid yourself, you really have to come here for the steaks, some of the most tender cut of beef I have ever eaten. All steaks are cut to a 1 inch diameter that is in the meat case, but you can request 2 inch cut or 3 inch cut, whichever your heart desires. And 2 inches of a NY Strip or ribeye with the correct seasoning and grilling method. Amazing! We got to meet Patrick, he was actually the one who asked us if he could help us find anything and shared a little bit about the market. We asked if we could get some steaks cut and he was more than enthusiastic to help us. Our special request and within seconds Patrick's disappears to the back to cut our requested order. Exceptional service, amazing values. They also have a seafood case (we didn't try but almost got some scallops because they look amazing). We will definitely be back,we will drive out of our way to purchase here and get amazing steaks. You are definitely missing out if you don't go here at least once.

Visited for lunch on Thursday and was unfortunately sorely disappointed…read more I arrived at about 12:45 and found a fairly full parking lot. The lot is a little torn up but not too bad. It's easy to get in and out. Walked around to the front and stood in the entryway for a few minutes. Didn't know the protocol since it was my first visit. Eventually, a waitress said loudly from the drink machine to seat myself, so I selected an empty booth near the kitchen. There's a lot of seating inside. I'd say the restaurant was about 1/3 full. Idk where people park when they're at capacity lol. Waitress came over and somewhat incredulously asked if I was by myself, which I confirmed. She pushed a scrap of white paper in front of me and told me to circle what I wanted and she'd pick it up. Eh...okay. It was a limited menu of meat + 3 combinations. They advertise breakfast till 1 as well as burgers and sandwiches but none of that was on there. However, the waitress' demeanor can only be described as frosty, and fortunately I was okay with my choices, so I kept to myself. But a part of me was kind of curious about breakfast for lunch. Alas. She returned with my tea wordlessly and swiped up my slip with my order. I circled a fried chicken breast with "potato patties" and fried okra. The sweet tea was the best thing I had and I enjoyed drinking it while I waited for my food. No refills or to go cups were ever offered though. I will grant the food came out fairly fast...but it also came out cold. Well, the chicken and potatoes were approximating room temperature, but the okra wasn't even lukewarm. My grouchy waitress also didn't give me any silverware and ran off before I could ask for any. I had to hunt down a different, only marginally less grouchy waitress so I could eat my food with a fork. It's a shame the okra was cold because it had a hint of potential; the breading was sort of cornmeal-y and might have once been crispy. As it was, it wasn't good at all -- the cold okra got slimy. The chicken was passable but also not nearly hot enough. The breading also needed more seasoning. The potato patties were...not patties? I was expecting something like a Jojo (small crispy potato round, thicker than a chip) or at least something circular lol, but instead I got two scoops of a sort of whipped potato casserole. This would've also been alright except it was lukewarm and, even worse, absolutely replete with still-crunchy large pieces of onion. Couldn't get a mouthful without them and left with much smellier breath. The one redeeming factor other than the tea was the bread basket: two yeast rolls and a hunk of cornbread. The cornbread was awful (bland and dry), but the yeast rolls were soft and warm and about the only food item I legitimately enjoyed -- even though, once again, my waitress left me hanging with no butter. I really couldn't wait to get out as I felt terribly unwelcome, so as soon as I ate what I could stomach I went to the marginally less unfriendly waitress and paid at the register. The price was decent (~$15 before tip). I did still tip, but I was salty -- legitimately some of the worst service I've had in a long time. I'm forgiving of long wait times and forgotten stuff, but I really don't like callous attitudes when I do my best to be pleasant and accommodating. Definitely wouldn't return. 2 stars because the food was edible and the place was clean enough. The hunt for a decent lunch in Scottsboro continues.

Chips and salsa were brought to the table without having to ask, which is always a welcome touch. Service was attentive considering there was only one server handling the floor. Props to them for keeping things running smoothly. The food was middle-of-the-road -- not the best Mexican I've had, but certainly not the worst either. If you're looking for a solid, no-surprises meal, it'll do the job. The atmosphere is actually one of the highlights. It's a nice bar setting, well-lit, and wasn't overly loud during our early visit -- easy to hold a conversation, which isn't always a given at a bar. Now, the restrooms could use some attention. They're a bit dated and in need of updating. I did get a chuckle out of the handwashing requirement sign posted prominently on the wall -- right next to the one soap dispenser that happened to be completely empty. It makes you wonder how closely that policy is actually enforced. Overall, La Cabaña by JUAN is a fine spot for drinks and a casual bite. Just maybe bring your own hand sanitizer.
