I drove out of my way to try this place out and I can't say I was disappointed! I love visiting restaurants off the beaten path. :) About 10 minutes north of Scottsboro, this little place feels like home when you step inside. Honestly, it sort of looks like home from the outside, too! There's a sweet memorial for a dog who has passed near the front door, honoring their favorite spot, which I thought was precious. Even though I popped in only like 35 minutes til close, I was welcomed warmly and not rushed. Their menu has American classics like hamburgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches, hot dogs, onion rings, fries, etc. It seems like burgers are the main attraction here, though, so I got their take on a mushroom and Swiss burger (my fav) and some French fries. The sweet tea I had to drink was perfectly refreshing and quite sweet, just the way I like it. I do remember thinking the total was a touch high for a single patty, fairly thin burger, but it is what it is. At least it was clearly fresh and high quality, which is much more than you can say for fast food. Like I said, food was cooked fresh but still came out to me in a timely manner. Heck, the fries were still so hot I burned my mouth a teeny bit! I was just trying to eat and get out of their hair before closing, so my bad there haha. Frozen-fried crinkle cuts but they were nice and crispy. My biggest complaint about the whole experience was the salt was sort of just thrown on them in a pile at the top. So a few fries were extremelyyyyy salty and others not at all. The burger was, as expected, the star here! Cooked about medium-well, it was still plenty juicy despite the relative thinness of the patty. The mushrooms and Swiss cheese were so buttery and melty together. They add bacon to their mushroom and Swiss and honestly I could take it or leave it. Some of it wasn't as crispy as I prefer, and I think the mushrooms add the extra savory punch so bacon makes it a little heavy, but I'm honestly nit picking here. It was a very yummy burger. I very much enjoyed myself. This is the kind of spot my folks would love, so I hope to bring them back in the future, and also to come try the delightful-sounding Moon Pie banana pudding! read more

Using the phrase, "Off of the beaten path", is putting it mildly. However, it's worth the drive. You can't it. It's the only place at the crossroads. It's an old gas station and store. My wife and I were out checking out a farmers market and decided to take the advice from a friend. The owners are as friendly as the food is good. We both had a mushroom Swiss cheese burger with a side of sweet potato fries. Unbelievably good! The place is mostly frequented by the locals, but they were very welcoming to two strangers. read more

Came across this quaint little cafe outside of Scottsboro, Alabama. My friend said it was the best cheeseburger he has had in a long time. My BLT was just right and the friend green tomatoes were very good. The young couple running the restaurant were working hard cooking and waiting on customers while taking care of their sweet little boys. You have to try it out! read more

Stopped by today, my grandson and granddaughter are very picky about their burgers. Both of them said the burgers were very good and the had them ate pretty quickly. We heard about this country restaurant on tv a month ago. Pikeville Store & Grill is located 5 miles north of Scottsboro and dates back to 1907-1908. The quaint white cinder block building is out in the middle of nowhere. Walking inside the building I felt transported back in time. At first glance the inside is very clean. Two employees greeted us and they were very kind and helpful. We ordered their famous cheeseburgers with crinkle cut fries and onion rings. Hubs had the double cheeseburger, a half pound of meat, and I had the single cheeseburger, a quarter pound of meat. We ordered both with everything which includes lettuce, two tomato slices, onions and pickles. The food is not fast food. The ladies in the kitchen prepare foods as they are ordered. Good ole home cooking reminiscent of the Mayberry Diner where Andy, Helen, Barney and Thelma Lou stop by for supper. I could barely get my burger in my mouth as it was huge. Hubs had a time biting into his double. The patties were cooked perfectly and were nice and juicy. I cannot think of anything that I would change other than add more onions. :). The menu has many items including famous moon pie banana pudding, hand dipped ice cream and milkshakes. If you like a nice drive, please take a ride to try the tasty burgers. The restaurant itself is in the middle of nowhere, but so worth the drive! The food is always fresh and flavorful, but do not expect your burger to be ready at the very moment you order it. Totally worth the wait however! *Tip: Call ahead, if you are on your lunch break. This will save you at least 10-15 min. Now, you have to get the burger, all the way, Chilli Fries, and that Moon Pie Banana Pudding.... This is heaven in a basket! If you are in the neighborhood, or even out of state... it is worth the drive! I can't stress this enough! People always talk about the burgers (which are incredible indeed), but if you are feeling brave, grab the fully-loaded foot long chili dog with potato wedges. Contains approximately one zillion toppings and is Huge enough to satisfy even the most beastly hunger, (enough for two people). Only costs around $8. Seriously. Best to avoid dining in (or prepare for a wait) on the weekends, as there are tons of regulars and yuppies spilling over from Unclaimed Baggage and very limited seating. Much like an old school diner, they take your order when you walk in and then it's up to you and your covert team of seat ninja to spot and secure a table before the food arrives. A kitchen staff person will scream out the name on your order when it is ready, you pick up at the kitchen door, and you're left to your own devices. Food is usually packaged in a carryout bag from the start, just in case the wait/seating is getting to you. The guy who works the counter is really nice and helpful. Enjoy! read more

Visited from Oxford Mississippi and stumbled upon Pikeville Store n deli from a recommendation. Cute and very clean little country store with awesome burgers. Real ground meat and loaded down in toppings, your choice of large or small burger. Prices were low and super friendly staff. They even have a moon pie banana pudding that was yummy. Walls decorated with news articles about them and tons of awards for best burger. Glad we got to visit and dine with them. read more

BEST BURGER IN THE SOUTHEAST!!!. Hands down, the best burger I've had in the southeast of America. Two Burgers & Order of chili fries and their world-famous moon pie banana pudding, all for $20! Funny thing is, you are not allowed to leave a tip, just clean your table because your momma doesn't work here. Get into Pikeville if you're around Scottsboro Alabama and try the best burger around. My girlfriend doesn't like the napkins and I don't care for them either but if I had to say anything negative about this place it would have to be the napkins(too thin and small to give the mouth a wipe after biting into a Pikeville burger). The bun on this burger is really good, so when you bite into a fully dressed Burger the bread does not overpower or overtake the flavors. The bun is perfect thin to enjoy the burger and fixin's! Delightful! Sister-in-law and brother, locals, took us here for lunch today. Owner was cooking & serving...a very friendly gentleman. My husband & I decided to compare sizes of large & regular cheeseburger baskets: unless you are really starving, the regular should definitely be sufficient! The fries were hot, and crispy outside while fluffy inside! Too full for dessert, but enjoyed refill of the crunchy ice and soda. Will look forward to returning! read more

Ok I'll have to agree for less than $8 for a huge burger and a lot of crispy fries it is very very good. Food was fresh and very tasty. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 star rating is everything I mean everything is served on/in paper or styrofoam.
