The…read morefood was from Dashu and consisted of hamachi, chicken and udon, and prime rib plus mixed vegetables. White rice, a side salad with dressing and miso soup completed the order. The side salad with dressing, white rice and miso soup were good. There was extra ginger salad dressing. It was too sweet to me. I had to add soy sauce to counter the sweet taste. The miso soup was good. I could taste the dashi and like most places the soup was thinned down but consumable. 4/5 The chicken with udon noodles was good. The udon noodles were overcooked to me. 4/5 The prime rib with mixed vegetables was good. The meat was overcooked a bit but was good. 4/5 Many thanks to Lina for a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a delicious meal from Dashu delivered by Door Dash. 4/5

This is THE best place in town to hang out with friends any day of the week, not just on game day. The bartenders and servers are very friendly and the service is definitely on point, even when the place is packed they get to you as quickly as possible. The food there is not your typical bar food either. The burgers and sandwiches are out of this world!! I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and I promise that you haven't lived until you taste Yankee food, and the food at The Turtle made me so homesick I almost wept. I highly recommend this place!!

It's super easy to miss if you're not looking, as there's no real store signage outside. Over the years I've heard this was one of the best burgers in town and just a solid hole in the wall, neighborhood type joint. Well, they weren't wrong. It's a seat yourself kinda place yet, it's full table service. It's much larger than you'd think inside as well. Arcade games, darts, pool tables are all inside along with a large screen TV and multiple other TV's. I imagine this is a solid spot for watching your teams. We got their menu's (food & drink) and took a hot minute to make our choices. Thankfully, our server and his trainee (the owners niece) were super patient and helpful along the way. They have super cheap draft beers but sadly, none were to my preference. That said, they had a number of cans/bottles of the local/regional craft variety and we enjoyed a few of those. I honestly can't recall what Amber got but she enjoyed it. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was quite good. Burgers are just one of those things that are very much about preference. Having lived in Austin for a number of years and it being a HUGE burger town, my expectations can be somewhat lofty. There was absolutely nothing offensive about their burger, I think I've had ones I've enjoyed more elsewhere in town. The prices and portions can't be beat though! We both absolutely LOVED this spot and will do our best to visit more often!

This place has changed since I first reviewed it, so might as well write an update…read more I have not come here for alcohol, but they do seem to have a fair variety of wines for sale, as well as weekly wine tastings. I am glad they have different coffee drinks nowadays, including espresso tonics, which have become my favorite for summertime. The food menu is small, but covers the basics. The space is nice and open, and I am glad they removed the red tint from the windows, makes it feel more relaxing now.

Sorority sister and I came to Charlie Foster's to get a glass of vino after dinner at El Caz. The majority of wine cellars/wine shoppes/wine centric places are extremely friendly, not tethered to a chair, and very engaging because, it's wine after all, and most wine lovers love nothing more than talking about wines! Rather than look over a wine list, I just asked for a glass of pinot grigio. The young man gave me the saddest pour I have seen in my life, again, in the requisite plastic purple Solo cup, and guess what this regrettable purchase cost me? $12.00. For a little more than double that cost, at about $26.00 I can get an entire bottle of Italian pinot grigio at Nick's ristorante, which is 4 *full* glasses!!!! Originally, I wanted to see what kinds of wines they had for sale; however, after this very transactional and impersonal interaction, I was ready to leave. I would suggest that management/owners train their personnel on wines and have them attend actual wine tastings with a sommelier and learn a few talking points about the various types and vineyards they represent. Staff should mingle with patrons to see what the person is interested in (would they like a dry white wine bottle to drink inside, a purple cup "to go," or several bottles for an upcoming event) and encourage things both that the customer prefers or is just outside the customer's comfort zone and peaks the patron's interest. I would also suggest they select staff who actually have a personality.
