Maaan, I really wanted to love it here but sadly I had very mixed feelings about my food. There's definitely a lot of potential, though! I wish I could give 3.5 stars. This seems to be a fairly new restaurant in Guntersville. I came for a solo lunch after work in the area a few weeks ago. The restaurant is on the smaller side but the inside is absolutely lovely and not at all what you'd expect from the location. The decor is really very beautiful and looks expensive -- modern and chic! Everything was spotless, including the women's restroom. Service was also fantastic! Unfortunately I'm a few weeks removed from my visit as I've been too busy to write super prompt reviews, but whoever my waitress was, she was such a sweetheart. She took great care of me, anticipating my needs and offering up useful information about the menu and items served. An owner or manager type also came by and spoke to me briefly, quite polite and genuine. On to the food... A complementary sampler type platter was brought out to start. It consisted of some bread, feta, olive oil, and an herb/spice blend (to dip the bread in before dipping in olive oil), along with one other small item that I don't remember -- think it was something pickled or similar. The items on the platter were on par with what you'd hope for, but the bread was unfortunately not warm and quite hard. I didn't eat much of it. I got the hibiscus specialty drink to sip on and that was actually quite lovely. Pretty color, not too sweet, very slightly tart. I was surprised to get a free refill on a drink like that one, but I certainly appreciated it! For my entree, I ordered the shawarma supreme wrap with a side of Brazos fries. This was probably the major letdown of the experience. So, I picked this item because it was on the cheaper side. Lots of the other entrees look good but were quite pricy for lunch. Therefore, I chose a smaller option. The menu said it came with marinated chicken and a garlic sauce, so I scratched my head when my waitress asked if I'd like my onions grilled on the wrap. I didn't know onions came on the wrap. I figured we were probably talking small slivers or cubes of onions, so I agreed. However, when I took a bite of my wrap, I found quite large pieces of onions -- maybe an inch or two in length and diameter both. This really hampered the experience for me because I don't like large pieces of onions at all, and it was impossible to eat even a bite without encountering a hunk of onion. I pulled them out or ate around them. It's a shame, cause the chicken and wrap and garlic sauce were all very flavorful. I agree with other reviewers that the menu is very flowery but doesn't accurately convey what to expect from the dishes. Still, flavor potential! Just gotta clear up what I'm actually ordering. The dish came with a few pickled peppers and vegetables to enhance the flavor, which I enjoyed. The fries were...not good. I should've stuck to a more traditional side dish like rice as I think that's where they excel. They had the consistency and shape of frozen fries. They were jazzed up by some sort of seasoning mixture on top, but unfortunately I really didn't like the flavor. The owner/manager caught me sniffing the fries (lol) and came over to assure me they were cooked fresh and all the way. I wasn't worried about either of those things; I just wanted to figure out what the spices were! It honestly reminded me of Old Bay seasoning but I doubt that's right. I wound up dunking my fries in the garlic sauce and tzatziki sauce to drown out the flavor. Last, I couldn't help but order some rice pudding for dessert. I love desserts from this cuisine so I had to! It was probably my favorite thing that I ate -- nice and creamy, lots of delicious chopped nuts and golden raisins. Good stuff! Would definitely order again but would also love to try the baklava. I guess I'm being extra critical just because I see the vision for something extra special! I'd love to return to try some of the larger, more expensive dishes, hopefully with my husband so we can share. I love this type of food and would love to have more of it in the area so I really hope they succeed! I'll be back to try again, but I'll make sure to double check what's in or on my meal before ordering next time. read more

I have to say everything at Brazos from walking in the door to walking out was spot on. I feel like they have paid attention to all the little things. The environment and ambiance was so calming. They made me feel right at home. They brought out a free sample appetizer that was great. I ordered a wrap & salad that came out quickly. Decided to try this Mediterranean restaurant as take out. We are generally a big fan of Mediterranean style food and have tried it all of the world. Let's start with the good items. I had the mixed skewers and they were excellent. Nice flavor and well seasoned. I also had the falafel, which was also very good. In addition we had the eggplant, which was done very nicely in high quality olive oil. The concerns were that the rice with our meals was just ok and a little under seasoned. The biggest negative was the fish extravaganza, which was pink tuna. This dish was significantly overcooked and simply not good. We actually questioned whether this was tuna it was so overcooked. Likely one of the worse seafood dishes I've ever had. The experience with this poor dish and very high cost (over $80 for these items via take out), means that unfortunately we can't recommend this restaurant. Wish I could as I love Mediterranean food but we won't be back. read more

Food was just the best ever. My wife had Filet mignon with rice palif. I had lamb chops. Plus super good waitress who went above and beyond to make us happy. Even gave us a on the house drink that was home made from wonderful healthy flavors. Eat here you wont regret it if you love foods from the Eastern Mediterranean. read more

Every little detail was beautiful. The lighting, the beautiful server serveware, the napkins, the lotion in the restrooms! Nothing went undone when planning! The wait was as expected on the first day of opening. Really no longer a wait than at the upscale restaurant in town though. Everything was delicious and service was great! Great service very clean and wonderful ambiance. The waitress was very polite . The pita with cheese and olives before the meal was tasty as well. I ordered an iced tea that tasted like roses very unique and refreshing. The main course was tasty as well . They even have a call button for the waitress at the table. The food was good; the service was good. The decor was amazing and would be good for an evening date. The snack they bring with the pita bread was really good. I had the lentil soup which was really good. My husband had a wrap which he enjoyed. I ordered the lamb medallions. The menu described it as "Experience unparalleled tenderness with our Lamb Medallions, meticulously crafted and seared to perfection. Elevate your dining affair with these exquisite medallions, epitomizing the artistry of fine cuisine." The server said it was cooked in the oven. So, I ordered it expecting lamb medallions with some kind of spice or sauce. Instead, I got a lamb shank with no sauce or spice. It was good and I enjoyed it but it wasn't what I really wanted. The problem was the way the menu is written. The menu doesn't really describe what the item is. It is too flowery and not specific. It has no ingredients or real description of the items. Another example is the Brazos Brew (tea). I ordered it hot. The menu describes it as "Immerse yourself in the aromatic allure of our Brazos Brew, where fragrant scents mingle with tantalizing spices to create a truly invigorating tea experience. Hot or Cold (sweet/nonsweet)." I expected middle eastern tea with some spices. What I got was black tea. Granted it was the best hot tea I've had in a long time but it wasn't what I expected from the menu. I did like the meal and we'll probably go back and give it another chance. But, I will ask a lot more questions before I order next time. read more

A Culinary Adventure worth trying. We wanted something different and this really worked. There were flavors you don't get often and a nice presentation and textures that make you want to have more. I think you get a quantity of quality food that is worth the price, which I think is really reasonable. It's a clean comfortable old Pizza Hut but there are fancy touches like nice silverware and real napkins and glasses. Look out for sneaky spices if you are sensitive but if you're like me you'll love it. I'll go back. read more

My wife and I were at Brazos last night. My wife had the skewers, filet, chicken and lamb. They were all amazing! I had the chicken schwarma wrap. Everything was fresh and delicious! The service was top notch! Our waitress kept checking in and refilling everything from our drinks to the complementary pita and oil as well. The owner was very attentive, even coming over to suggest "the best bite" of our skewers, and he was correct! This man cares about his restaurant and his patrons. He really wants to immerse you with his culture and he is very proud of the product he puts out. Everything is extremely fresh, the wait for your food was inline with any other restaurant that you'd expect to be cooking from fresh, not pre-cooked food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would appreciate fresh, culturally accurate Mediterranean cuisine if you are in this area! So very pleased with our experience! read more

Lived in the Middle East for an extensive amount of time and we are so excited something like this has come to Guntersville. Excellent service and authentic food. When I read some of the negative reviews, they are obviously from people who have no idea what food from this part of the world is like. Such people should probably stick to Waffle House. Great place if you want real Mediterranean style cuisine, and the prices are more than fair. read more
