Hamburger steak was very salty
Mark F.

Stopped in on our way to Fort Collins and wanted to try the hamburger steak since another reviewer stated it was the best he ever had. I thought it was OK at best but extremely salty. I didn't quite finish it because I was sure I'd already had my salt allotment for the week now. The mash potatoes and gravy were ok too but, again, too much salt in the gravy. We arrived right at lunch and with one cook in the kitchen and a bunch of togo orders, we didn't eat until 45 mins after we sat down. It ended up a disappointment overall since we drove 20 miles out of our way to try this place.

Excellent family run restaurant. Fast friendly service for a bite to eat in Hugo! Grab a window seat for watching trucks pass during your meal

We chose this for a stop going to Denver. Nine of us. Our server was right there. A few things on the menu weren't available. But everyone found something. Some liked the fried appetizers. The cook got it up quickly enough. We were in the room with the dead animal heads above us. Mountain sheep, moose. In a frame on the wall coming in were three dollar bills with Presidents Clinton and Obama (in sheik garb). I didn't feel comfortable here. Some others may.

Tasty food. A good homecooked meal. Excellent service. Updated bathrooms. Cozy environment. Mom and Pop diner. Family friendly.

Dining room.

as a truck driver this is one of the best places I've been! highly recommend to all travelers…read morepassing in Limon, Co the staff is the best!!!

Oscar's Bar & Grill…read more Easter Sunday. Road trip to Denver. Middle of nowhere Colorado. Translation: finding food could've been a problem. Luckily... we landed at Oscar's Bar & Grill in Limon--and this turned out to be one of those "right place, right time" kind of stops. From the outside, it's a classic roadside bar & grill, but once you step inside, it's got personality--movie memorabilia, neon lights, pool table, and that relaxed, local hangout vibe. The kind of place where you just know you're going to get a solid meal. We weren't looking for anything heavy--just something good--and the $9.99 burger special caught our attention right away. Enter Sherry--our server--and she absolutely made the experience. Friendly, engaging, and confident in her recommendations (always a good sign). She pointed me straight to the Texas BBQ Burger, and that was the move. Smoky, slightly sweet BBQ sauce (house-made and legit) Crispy onion rings stacked right on top Juicy burger cooked just right That first bite told me everything I needed to know--this place knows what it's doing. I paired it with coleslaw, which was surprisingly solid--fresh, not overdressed, and a nice balance to the richness of the burger. We passed on appetizers and dessert this time, but based on the menu (and Sherry's confidence), there's definitely more here worth exploring. Bottom line: If you're rolling through Limon--especially on a holiday when options are slim--Oscar's is a no-brainer. Great service, good food, fair prices, and a welcoming local vibe. This is exactly what a road trip stop should be.
