I don't suggest coming to Jeanne Scott if you have thick, afro-textured hair. She claims to specialize in African-American haircare but does not like having Black clientele at all. She refers to Black hair with derogatory terms such as "nappy". Literally stood in my face and said "this is why stylists don't do African-American hair" trying to humiliate me in front of other customers people when I questioned the price she pulled a price out of thin air that is contradictory to what's on her website. Very cruel. I had asked for a silk press, and ended up with what looked like a blow dry only. Took way too long to do something that should've taken about an hour and a half maximum. Later on in the appointment, I ASKED politely if she could help me put in some clip-in extensions and she said that she would try. I was not impressed with the quality at all, and my hair barely looked straightened. From the time I walked in, the atmosphere she created made me uncomfortable and uneasy. Gossips a lot about others. Then wanted to charge me $210 at the end of it all. She is inappropriate, aggressive, and rude. Kept burning me, and jerking my head around. I have been to other stylists who did an excellent job and charged 3 times less than her. The worst experience I've ever had in a salon. Absolutely horrifying. read more

I think Jeanne is a good hairdresser, I just feel like she messed up on my hair and I've should've said something about it. I came into the salon about a month and a half ago for a trim and she told me she could only cut it if she blow dries it straight... (I found out it's something you DO NOT do if you're cutting curlier hair because you end up cutting off more than what you planned to cut. I've had my hair cut where its not straightened out a while ago so I know.) I should've just said no and walked out but I was too scared to say anything and I assumed she's a professional and she knows what she's doing, so I just said okay. She did give me some helpful tips on how to take care of my hair and got rid of split ends which were some nice things about the experience. After the cutting process she asked if she wanted to leave it straight or curly, i chose curly. And I was...devastated. My hair was cut waaaay too much. It was a little past my shoulders and then it was neck length and I ended up looking like a poodle. She also cut layers a little too short on the top of my hair which I don't like at all so I would put it up in a loose bun a lot. Luckily it has grown out quite a bit so it is more manageable, but I'm still upset because I have to wait till the layers grow out. read more
