I'm kind of like Katherine Heigl in that movie 27 Dresses. Well, okay, I only have 5 dresses- but…read morestill. 2 of those 5 dresses I've had altered by Pauline. I tried another company for one of them, had a friend's mom do one- and I made the mistake of not getting one of them altered. A second trip to Pauline convinced me of what I already knew- she is friendly, professional, and does great work. She's also extremely affordable. My last set of alterations only cost me $20.24! My one and only complaint, if I had to make one, is that she is SOOO far away, and because she does alterations out of her home, it is a little tough to find if you are not familiar with the area. Despite all of that, I'm a huge fan, and I'll definitely be going back to her when (and not if) I am in another wedding. One thing to note, however- is that she does NOT press the dress for you, so you'll need to have that done separately!

Pauline was the perfect choice for my wedding gown alterations! I am fairly new to the Cincinnati…read morearea, so I had no word of mouth or prior experience to guide me. I originally chose Pauline because of her great prices and location. I liked that she took appointments on some evenings, so that it did not interfere with my work schedule. I had my first fitting/consultation eight weeks before my wedding, as she recommmended. She works out of her home, but has a professional area with a full body mirror and a private space to change. During my first fitting, I could tell Pauline is a perfectionist... which is exactly what I want in someone altering the most expensive article of clothing I'll ever wear! She did everything she could to make the dress fit perfectly and look amazing, and it worked! I met with her once more five days before my wedding for my final fitting. The dress fit exactly how it was supposed to. I loved that she she sewed in two hooks at the top of the zipper, one tighter than the other. This made it so when my strapless dress stretched throughout the day, we could switch it to the tighter hook so it didn't slip down at all. I brought my maid of honor with me and Pauline showed her how to bustle the dress (I had a ball gown with a long train). Pauline performed the following services for me all for just over $200: -took in the dress by a couple sizes -sewed in bra cups -inserted a few stays to keep the bodice from wrinkling -fixed a few beading areas -bustle

I was highly disappointed with my experience at Theresa's Alterations…read more I brought in a bridesmaid dress to be shortened and have the zipper repaired. I was given a pickup date and told that if it was finished early, they would call to let me know. When I arrived on the scheduled pickup date (which was also listed on my receipt), my dress hadn't even been started. It took the staff about 15 minutes to locate it, and once they did, they immediately apologized. They offered to have it completed the following day and said they would give me a discount for the inconvenience. I completely understood that mistakes happen and appreciated the apology. They asked if I could return the next day, but because I had to work, I told them I would pick it up the day after instead. When I returned two days later, the dress was finished. After trying it on, I went to the front desk and asked about the discount we had discussed. The employee laughed and said, "We don't do discounts here. Who would have told you that?" I pointed to the woman I had spoken with previously, who I believe is Theresa. Theresa then told me I had shown up two days late to pick up my dress and that she doesn't give discounts. I reminded her that when I came on the original pickup date, my dress had been misplaced, the alterations hadn't even been started, and she had personally offered me a discount because of the situation. She denied that conversation ever took place. What was most disappointing wasn't the initial mistake--it was the lack of accountability afterward. I understand that errors happen, but standing behind your word and making things right is what good customer service is all about. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, and because of this experience, I won't be returning and cannot recommend Theresa's Alterations to my friends or family.
