They sure do feed you well too. The dishes they serve are hardy southern food and very filling. They will also bring out more items to feed you as you dine S well and you won't leave hungry. I thought the side dishes stole the show for me especially the rolls, fried okra and black eyed peas were some of the best I've ever had. Now I'll want to go back whenever I'm passing through that part of southeast Missouri. It's a really cool looking restaurant inside and out with lots of memorabilia on the walls especially the license plate plates. I had the chicken fried steak that came with mashed potatoes right on top and white gravy and it was very savory and good. For the 2 sides I ordered green beans and white beans. It was a heavy meal, but I managed to put away almost all of it along with scoops of extra okra, fried potatoes, tomatoes and pasta in a side dish together, and black eyed peas. I could only manage to eat two rolls and had one where they put a helping of sorghum syrup which I rarely ever see anymore. I grew up on this very kind of food with my southern parents cooking so this place really hit the spot.

The place has sort of a speakeasy persona from the outside, with the interior boasting a premium bar area and a well appointed dining room with a grand piano. The ambiance is of a decidedly upscale, yet warmly casual, elegance. The menu features steaks, salads and appetizers, along with a focused array of seafood and Italian favorites. We enjoyed an old fashioned and a quality bourbon from the bar, followed by manicotti for my wife and an excellent Toto Mare for me. Both were warmly zesty in the best tradition. Entrees we're generously portioned and well presented. Accompanying side salads were also very good. Prices were moderate.
