I will start by saying I went to write a review, and the very first one I saw was an excellent review that I posted 8 years ago. This is unfortunately a much less flattering review this time. Andy the front end manager was nice, as was our server I was happy on that front. We decided to order the combo appetizer where you get 3 items for about $15. As I was listing off what we wanted, (pickle fries) mozzarella sticks, and pretzel bites) she informed me that they were out of stock on the pretzels. Ok, no problem we got fries instead.when she took our drink order, she advised they were out of straws (this comes into play later). My granddaughter wanted pancakes with strawberries on top, we were informed they were out of strawberries. I popped up and said oh, well I need to order something other than the French toast with strawberries and bananas, our server being HELPFUL said that the strawberries and bananas come in a pack that they do have in stock. (Thank goodness ). So that's what I order. Guess what .. they are out of French toast. I was at this point trying not to get upset as this was my birthday dinner, and relatively I succeeded. Well 15 min goes by, 3 plates of food come out for our party of 6, and we are assured the rest of the food will be out shortly. Another 5 minutes goes by, 2 more plates are brought to our table. We wait patiently for another 15 min for my daughter's food, and finally spot the server to ask her about my daughter plate (oops, they forgot it. My daughter brings to my attention there are stacks of straws in the lower dining area on the bar and other patrons are being served with straws. Darn the luck. Then my son takes my granddaughter to the restroom and as they are finishing up, she goes to wash her hands, and surprise! There is no soap in the dispenser. (They must have been out of stock). Then during the payment phase of our experience she put the machine up into my face practically. And there were only optiois for 18, 20,or 22% or custom. I sucked it up and did the 18% because I didn't want to waste any more time putting in a lesser custom tip. I just wanted to be done. read more

I was hoping the nice new renovation would come with better service, but it's the exact same problem as before. There is a total lack of management skills and the employees clearly do not want to be there. We experienced incredibly slow service just trying to order, and our food was never actually delivered to the table. To make matters worse, the staff has a terrible attitude. When we politely asked our waitress about the delay, she gave us major attitude and said, "I did take your order didn't I?" A nice building can't hide terrible service. Avoid this place. read more

Waitress was nice but not real efficient! Wife's beer sat at the bar for over 5 minutes just enough time to warm it up a bit. She said she was getting another beverage for me and went to another table to take their order. Next thing I see she's setting at the bar spinning on a chair? Oh well won't go back there. I had complained to Applebee's through the ap previously gave them that last try managers response was after covid things were just not the same? This is 2023 not 2020. I went here with my friend and servuce was super slow waited 15 mins or so to get someone to our table for drinks. I got the 2 for $35, one to go for my boyfriend, when it came out it was not to go I guess they expected me to eat both and the steak looked and tasted like it had been out all day. Would have complained but no one came to the table the entire time we were eating. Don't recommend. read more

Poor! Ordered the 4 cheese Mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken. The "cheese" sauce contained not even one cheese. It appeared to be a tepid Alfredo sauce that barely coated the noodles. Do they even have a fried chicken Alfredo on the menu to cause a slip up? You go to Applebee's expecting consistency, not greatness. If they can't even be consistent, than what's the point? read more

Very bad service and poor management. We were told we could not eat there because we had 5 people in our party and the place was empty. All while the manager and a few workers played cards at a table. I have never seen the level of bad management at an establishment as this. Feel sorry for the owners as well there is no telling how much revenue they are losing due to poor management. read more

Wow. I mean I've ALWAYS loved Applebee's, but todays visit left MUCH to be desired. My server, who was also the bartender was let's just say not very happy to be at work. I watched as she stood with her hands on her pockets, sour look on her face.... However, She was very happy to chat with the 2 older gentleman sitting in her section. (They seemed to be regular's) I asked for extra parmigiana on my Tomato soup....apparently a mistake. When she brings my food out, it has powdered parmigiana on it Gross. When I asked about it she explained "They discontinued that." I sat and listened while she told another guest that Covid has made it impossible to get Celery. ‍ Lastly, She took a phone call from what seemed to be someone wanting a job and after being incredibly rude to the poor person, she hung up with a very loud sigh and said "Yea, she's never calling you back!" Situational awareness is a thing. People hear you. People see you....and more than anything, people feel when you do not want to wait on them or be "bothered" to help them. We went on a Friday night, and got two orders of chicken strips and fries. It was okay, although the fries were pretty sparse, though they tasted decent. This was my first visit to an Applebee's and will be our last. The waiter disappeared and had to be called over for a drink refill, as well as to get some vinegar for my fries. I was charged $0.50 for vinegar, which has never happened before in my lifetime, at any restaurant, anywhere. Most restaurants just leave it on the table, not try to squeeze a few more pennies for a basic condiment. There was filth on the blinds next to our table; I took some pictures. It was disgusting and when I pointed it out to the manager on duty, she didn't seem to care. I guess having a filthy restaurant is normal for them. Makes me wonder about cleanliness standards re. things we CAN'T see. Will never return to this, or any, Applebee's. read more

Stopped here with the Grandkids for dinner and not good. . . . Onion Ring appetizer got to the table cold, some of us ordered the sirloin and not one was cooked correctly. One steak was so rare it still had the tail wagging. Baked potato was ice cold. Next we got dessert for the kids. We ordered some apple dessert with ice cream - waitress came back to the table and told us "we are so sorry but we ran out of apples - but you can order something else if you want". No - check please. She brings us the check and says - "oh I spoke with the manager and we found some apples". No - give us the check please. Bottom line - Food wasn't any good, service was not good and how do you run out of apples and then 10 minutes later you find apples. I would pass on this one. read more

Good service, poor product! The queso blanco is tasteless, the chicken wings are standard. They do have a half price app but that doesnt include the sampler or trios which was dissapointing. Dinner sides were limited, they were out of mashed potatoes so I asked for salad and I got charged for it. The fries were cold. Arrived as the first customers for lunch. The restaurant was totally empty. We had a party of ten. Sat for 30 minutes before the restaurant started to fill up. Starred noticing that everyone in the restaurant had eaten and our food had not come. Asked to speak to the manager but she was "busy." Hour and a half later after complaining we received our mediocre, at best, food. With places like Dexter Ribs and Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, there is never a reason to visit this establishment. read more

Went in at a prime time Saturday evening. Server was pleasant and patient with us. Food was good. Server was good. A nice experience.

My sister and I stopped in for dinner after a long day. She ordered the Shrimp Won Ton stir fry. The rice wasn't cooked..when she told the waiter, he offered to talk to the manager to see if he could deduct the cost of it. He later returned and said the manager said no. Never once did the manager come to the table to talk with us, or try to make it right. Shame on you Applebees...this will be our last visit here. read more

This is one of the worst Applebees I have ever had the displeasure to "dine." We ordered steaks, wings, and sides. The wings cane and no plates were delivered, we had to "beg" for plates. My side was incorrect and both steaks were so over-cooked it was difficult to chew. After speaking to the manager better but not delicious steaks were made. read more

The service was terrible at this Applebee's. We waited over 40 minutes for the food to be served. The wait staff seemed either very stressed or very disorganized. My food was not warm when presented, indicating it sat for a time before it was delivered. This Applebee's was promoting a beer special. But at 5:00 pm the restaurant was out of the promotional beer. Staff kept saying how busy they were, but the restaurant was not full when we arrived and we were seated immediately. While waiting for our food I asked to see the manager to complain about the Slooooooow service. She never appeared. This was a very poor experience. I hope Applebee's is not trying to wring profits out of it's restaurants by reducing staff and hiring incompetent managers. read more

AppleBees in Sikeston is awesome! They have an awesome and friendly staff with great managers and delicious food! I would definitely recommend going! Don't forget to order a Triple Chocolate Meltdown at the end of your meal, they're to die for. Yumm. read more

1 star only because it was warm inside,,,,,,,,, today at 1;15 pm... therese and i went to have lunch... placed our order ..i ordered the steak salad.with sweet potato fries ...therese ordered chicken fingers and fries on the lunch page 12 min order... after 25 min still no food..i am a diabetic when i am going down i need food ...no one problem but mine ...i asked if i could have some crackers and was told no crackers,,oh and bake potatoes only after 4pm.............. later the manger told me on the phone they have not had crackers in 2 years then what do u serve with ur soup or salads ...she laugh at me .. ..well no crackers that is for sure ...i was so upset i said lets go across the street and get something to eat ....we left ..the waitress said it was going to be another 15 min ... for a business that serves food they sure have a lot of rules on how and what u eat ... friends please voice your option to go or not ..but i will never ever go back never ...then i found out that the manager was the cook .... oh my ..this business needs to close and get their act together and maybe reopen with all new....never ever will i go back ..oh also the bathroom was nasty ....i should have had a clue then ............... never ever read more
