The guacamole fresco was delicious. It has nice sized avocado chunks with plenty of tomato & onions. I ordered the fajita combo platter. Husband had the Jicama platter - not a jicama in sight but it had tender beef fajitas covered in cheese sauce. Misses-the salsa that came with the chips had no flavor and neither did the guacamole that came with the fajitas. Fabulous service. However, I wish I had taken a photo of my husband's platter--carnitas (pork tips), rice, beans, jalapenos, lettuce and tomatoes, and tortillas. He said, "It was all delicious, but the pork was incredible, so tender and moist." He orders carnitas often back in our hometown and as we travel. He said this was the best ever. We have only been to Sikeston twice. The first time we had the "throwed rolls" because who could pass up that experience? This time it was El Cerrito, and now that we will be traveling to Chicago more often because of a family member's move, we will go right back to El Cerrito, a welcoming family restaurant with super good food. P.S. Someone had ordered something that was served in a half a pineapple. It was so lovely. I asked what it was but can't remember the name. The daughter of the owner said it was a fajita served in the pineapple and that the fajita took on some of the pineapple flavor, a very tempting selection. In addition to the food, the service was excellent as well.
