JD completed a small kitchen remodel in our home. We kept the footprint the same, but replaced all of the cabinets as well as a stovetop for a stand alone stove/oven. Jesus and Jessica got us started letting us know a place to make selections for countertop and backsplash. We pre-purchased all of the appliances and hardware before the job started to alleviate any delays with the process. The demolition, framing and installation of everything ran smoothly. We called on Jesus from JD General Construction to assess some damage from a leaky toilet to our original 80's era linoleum bathroom floor. We knew we would need to replace the flooring, but we had also been considering a small bathroom remodel (replacing the vanity and mirror, and new paint), so we asked him to quote out both jobs. Jesus was very responsive to our inquiry and came out right away to assess the floor damage and take measurements. He immediately put us at ease as to the severity of the problem, leaning on his prior experience, and playing out the "worst case scenario" so we would know what to expect. Jesus immediately came across as honest and knowledgeable; he felt like someone my husband and I could see working with on future home improvements. Though it wasn't part of the original plan, just for fun we asked for a quote to go ahead and replace the rest of our downstairs flooring: a carpeted family room and a tiled kitchen floor with vinyl plank flooring. I'd like to give a big shout out to JD Constructions for doing a superb job on our kitchen remodeling project. I came across them while walking my kid to school on Marsh drive when they were working on Neighbour's project. I also noticed they did couple of other projects in the neighborhood and got good recommendation on Nextdoor. Here's what stood out for us: - Super responsive and accommodating to our needs. They communicate with clients not just phone/text but create a chat group on Telegram app, and they are always available on Telegram (including nights and weekends) to answer questions, collaborate on design, etc. The app made is real easy to work with these guys. - One of the partners Miles is an expert at design, and was very patience with all the various changes we asked them to make. Unlike some contractors, these guys do everything - drawings, permits, install, etc. - Very reasonable and lower on cost than most established contractors. - They expanded our kitchen, replaced sliding door, new cabinets, new appliances, new island, new countertop, plumbing, electrical, all in 4 weeks from start to finish. They estimated six weeks but were able to do it in 4 without compromise on quality. Back in 2019, my wife and I hired a contractor to do some work on a home that we had just bought. We did a couple of bathroom renovations and the current owner of JD General Contractor happened to be the sub-contractor of the company we hired. After meeting him then and seeing the quality of his work, we decided to hire him directly when we decided we needed more work done on the house. We hired him again for 3 main reasons... 1) Honesty and Integrity. He came and gave us an honest assessment of what our needs were and what those costs might be. He dissuaded my wife and I from doing some work that we were contemplating because he knew the costs weren't worth the potential benefit. And when we finally decided to install can lights in our home, he stuck by a quote he gave us months before despite material costs going up considerably by the time he came to do the work! 2) Quality. JD takes pride in his workmanship and you can tell. He pays attention to every little detail and that really matters when you have someone working on your home! 3) Price. JD is not trying to squeeze you for every penny. He charges a reasonable rate for quality and professional work and that's really all you can ask for when hiring a contractor! Our only regret is not having known about him when we wanted to do a full master bath remodel. We were getting quotes in the $60K range which was out of our budget. JD quoted us a price nearly half that! By then we had already spent our reno budget. But if we ever decide to finally do the master bath, we will be hiring JD for sure!
