David did a phenomenal job with our landscaping. He really listened to what we wanted and checked in with us every step of the way to make sure we were happy. David goes above and beyond to get the highest quality plants, flowers, and trees. He traveled over an hour and a half to get us a magnolia tree he knew we'd love. We will definitely work with David in the future and will refer him whenever we can. read more

David and his team are incredible!! I collected several quotes on a large project to completely remove my backyard (approx 90 x 30 lot), add fresh soil, re-pitch, and fix a drainage problem we have had by installing drain tiles. I was under a time constraint and David worked with me and did the entire project while I was out of the country. He always kept me up to date with pictures, videos, and text messages explaining what he was finding. The project turned out to be even larger than anticipated when a lot of concrete and asphalt was found in our soil (yard used to be a parking lot). Realizing he could probably get a bobcat through my entry door to my garage he hired someone to remove the door and frame in the morning so he could get the bobcat back there and had the door re-installed in the evening. David kept in touch with me after the project was complete and I was still out of the country. He came back to the site to adjust the sprinklers and make sure the sod was doing well. It honestly blows my mind how much work David and his team did in the span of 4-5 days. I returned to a beautiful yard with fresh sod that I can be proud of. 10/10 would recommend JD Flores Landscaping. In fact I already have! read more

David and the crew were amazing throughout the whole process. David was excellent at explaining what needed to be done and why, and for what they did, the price was very reasonable. Would recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome lawn design experience read more

We have used a variety of landscaping contractors over the years. Some were adequate, some were plain bad, irresponsible and sloppy. We heard about David Flores and his team from friends who had used him for over 10 years, so we wanted to give them a try. What a pleasant surprise and a welcome change. The workers at JD Flores, led by David, exceeded our expectations - their timeliness, professionalism, respect for nature and the perfection associated with their choice of plants, trees, perennials and annuals were astounding. They obviously love their profession and it shows in the quality of the work as well as their smiling attitude and genuine enthusiasm for what they do. David even drove over one and a half hours each way to get the best Japanese maples for the best price to provide extra value without charging for it. The quality of their work is one thing. Then there is the genuine motivation for being the best and doing the absolute best without being reminded or told. That is rare, if ever. We will not be needing to change again - we have found a small business of decent hard working honest people who share our core values of respect for the individual and putting forth our best everyday. They do not take more customers than they can handle because they want to provide the best quality at all times. David is one in a million - you will not regret trying them if you are in need of landscaping services. read more

TOTALLY unresponsive and non-existant customer service. Left two voicemail messages and followed that up with an email using the company's own website. Absolutely no one called me back! read more

I absolutely recommend David and JD Flores Landscaping. David and his team not only did a phenomenal job, but he was willing to explain the entire process. Our yard required not just a lot of work but an intelligent design to combat water coming into our property from both neighbors. David thoughtfully went through every option and explained how much we would benefit when the project is completed. He was 100 percent correct, and I should mention the results were beautiful as well. The experience was unbelievably easy, and the entire time I knew we were in good hands. I've been on yelp for at least a decade, and this is my only review. That's how good this team is! read more

I highly recommend choosing David and his team for your next landscape project! Our project consisted of grading/leveling a dirt backyard and front yard, adding sod, installing a flagstone patio and a couple of bushes. We initially received proposals from several companies and David's quote balanced affordability while also including all of our must-haves. David was very responsive both pre and post contract signing. We also really appreciated his design suggestions. While we had most of our layout already planned out, David offered some additional design options that we hadn't previously considered. When the project work began, David was communicative and his team was very friendly. Even though a few minor issues cropped up in the middle of the project, David calmly walked me through our options. David told me it would be a 2 day project and his team finished right on time. The final product definitely exceeded our expectations. After a little more than 3 weeks, the new sod and bushes are settling in nicely and it looks beautiful. If you're planning a landscape project and want affordable results that looks great, give David a call! read more

Our new house finally feels like home thanks to David and his crew! We hired them to redo our front landscaping and entire backyard, which involved installing a privacy fence, removing an ugly concrete carport, designing a new patio, creating a dog run area, and laying sod. We met with several landscapers for estimates and we were most confident that David would do the best job. He took the time to explain why he recommended certain materials and projects and took into account our budget and goals. He was extremely knowledgeable about landscaping materials but also how how Chicago bungalows were built and came up with a design for our backyard that we absolutely loved. David's communication and personality made him extremely easy and enjoyable to work with. He and his crew worked so hard and efficiently; everyday we were shocked at how quickly they were able to transform our property. We could not be happier with David's work and would absolutely recommend him. We will be calling him for any future landscaping needs! read more

The front of our home has flower beds around the shrubs. The existing railroad ties that were used to surround the area had begun to rot over the years. I called several different companies in the neighborhood and was surprised to see and hear the quotes for the removal and reinstallation of a new flower bed. I looked online and read various reviews and the one that really stood out was JD Flores Landscaping. I called and spoke with David who promptly set up an appointment to come out and look at the damage. I was so impressed with his politeness and professionalism. In the back of my mind I already knew that he would be a candidate for the job. After quoting me the complete price I was ecstatic! Not only did he quote a very reasonable amount, he came in about 2 thirds less than the competition. The work was completed to my complete satisfaction and then some! David was very pleasant to work with and would recommend him highly. If you're looking for landscaping work etc., look no further, JD Flores will more than meet your expectations. read more

David's team did an excellent job! He was very responsive and easy to work with. The crew was professional and friendly. They removed our grass, large bushes, and other plants; built a patio; re-leveled the slope of the yard; and put in new sod and plants in 2 and a half days! Just finished up an amazing experience with JD Flores Landscaping. First, I have to say I was so impressed with the care David and his crew planned out my project - they were clear with timing and design plan the entire way through the process. I couldn't have been more impressed. BUT THEN the work!! Amazing! They did SUCH a nice job and kept us informed every step of the way during the project to let us know about little changes to improve the project that they thought were necessary. I have nothing but positive words to say about JD Flores Landscaping! I called them, very last minute, as we were about to have an open house and our yard needed help! They did a Spring Clean up and our lawn has never looked better! They also cleared all of our weeds and pruned several bushes/trees. I called several different landscapers, however, JD Flores was the only 1 that actually answered the phone and they promptly came to our house and did everything we asked. The charge was very reasonable! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

Called David in a "crisis" as our family had gotten busy with work and the yard was starting to look pretty bad. He came out the next day and fixed it for me and did a wonderful job. His team is dedicated and never miss a beat with what the yard needed. And you get to contribute to a small business. Highly recommend read more

I used JD Flores Landscaping to replace artificial lawn with regular sod in my back yard. I had just purchased the house in Skokie, and this was our top priority. The job was a little more complicated than normal because the synthetic lawn was built on around 6 inches of sand/gravel, so the excavation aspect was fairly significant. Having received quotes from a few landscapers, I chose JD Flores because they were able to clearly articulate how they would approach the work, the price was competitive and they provided a clean quote with the work breakdown. On the day of the job, David's crew arrived on time and worked hard throughout the day to excavate and lay down new soil. David provided updates during the day to explain how the work was progressing. So that the sod would be as fresh as possible, David's crew laid down newly ordered sod a couple of days later, and provided advice on how to take care of it. Finally, David visited the following day to review all the work with me to ensure I was satisfied. Overall, I was very happy with their work and would highly recommend them for any landscaping project. read more

We've been using this landscaper for a few years. We had to call them to get them to send us an invoice so we could pay him. There would be services stated on the invoice that we never received. I can never get the owner David on the phone. When I called him to ask why he hadn't come by to cut our lawn his response was you didn't call to tell me. We've had the exact issue with him every year. So sick of him avoiding my calls. Time to find another landscaper. read more
