YUM!!! I wish I would've found this place earlier! I was in town for 8 weeks and found this gem after 6 weeks. But in that two weeks I went back three times! I went during the week and had no issues with wait times, I did pass by on the weekend and there was a line out the door. I got the pork verde omelet. SOOOO GOOD!! I highly recommend it! This place can get busy on the weekends so prepare for a wait. I decided to try out their western waffle sandwich and it was a complete chore just to finish. The waffle and egg were lacking any sort of meaningful flavor. To top it all off, the waitress miscalculated and gave one of my friends the incorrect amount of money back as change so he lost more money than he was supposed to. In town visiting family. Wanted to grab a bite. Always try to pick something local. Immediately greeted and seated by a friendly employee. Our waitress was very good. Food was good, very filling. Great portions. Another employee noticed my water was low, refilled it quickly. Love that. I noticed an older man, in the background. Spoke to a couple tables (guessing owner, as he knew the tables by name) never approached us (which is totally fine, we are not locals) Overall, I'd eat here again and recommend it. We keep coming back! The food is great, and the staff is really nice. Yes you will wait a little longer for service and food when they are busy, but it's worth it! Their breakfast is delicious, we've tried almost everything. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy, country potatoes, and the bacon is so yummy!! Car club had a lunch at Campbells yesterday, about 20 of us. We got to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. All at one long table. We only had one waitress for all of us, which could be a disaster, but she did a great job taking care of every order. While she got all the orders, the only negative was the time it took for the orders to arrive. They did however, deliver the orders at roughly the same time so we were all able to eat together as well as look at each others dishes. Very relaxed atmosphere and enjoyable to all. We are planning on returning. read more

She says she will get it. 15 minutes pass and eventually some other girl shows up with a large Dos Equis. I tell her it was supposed to be a Modelo and then I tell her to just throw it away and take it off my bill. It's now been literally forever and some other girl who isn't even our waitress comes and asks what we ordered. I tell her again my order and then tell her to just make it to go. Eventually I got my mediocre wings and chicken parm sandwich to go. In defense of the restaurant, the manager did give me a $25 gift certificate (I wanted to leave it on the table but my wife said it was rude). What am I supposed to do with the gift card? Come in and order my food again just for them to not bring it and when they do it'll be wrong. I'm not going back.

The machines functioned with no issues at all and I can't stress enough about how clean the machines (and everything) was here at Player 1! If you want to partake in some soda or alcohol, they can serve you up some refreshments while you've got your hands full with a pinball machine. I had patronized this place for years when it was Campbell Mercantile. We would always roll by on our way to Lake Pleasant for snacks, gas, etc. When they changed it into a bar/grill I was SO excited as it is close to my house and I need a new place to go as you can only go to Top Shelf so many times! My boyfriend and I decided last Saturday to stop by. What a nice surprise!! The interior has been redone with a Country vibe and open, airy seating. The bar is in a nice spot to relax and chat up the neighbors and has plasma tvs which they will tune to any game for you (just ask). The liquor selection is awesome! I eyed a bottle of Veuve Cliquot in one of the nice, glass-front coolers behind the bar and was pleasantly surprised that they were selling it by the bottle at a more than fair price. After I had downed a mimosa (or three), we ordered the sweet corn fritters. So yummy! Then we split the cheesesteak sandwich. The bun was warm and toasted just right with a nice mix of cheese and peppers to compliment the lean meat. Great!!! Now the best part...Tanya, our bartender (and an AWESOME bartender...very attentive and knowledgeable) asked if we were having dessert. No I didn't think so. Well, you really should try the Ding Dong cake. It's not on the menu but it is sooo good! Say no more, Tanya. What arrived before us was a chocolaty, crème-filled little slice of heaven! Hit or miss here. They get a 3 star because half the time the food is good, half the time it sucks, and twice it has actually been inedible. I've had the pork ribs. 8/10 times they have been really good. Note that the sides suck. They are bland and flavorless. The mash potatoes and gravy have NO flavor, and the macaroni and cheese doesn't either. One time we ate here the ribs were completely inedible. The manager and waiter that night were very gracious, and refunded one of the meals and gave us a free desert. (I had chewed through the ribs, which were tough and awful). However, we went there and ordered the chicken special, which had been smoked, and it was absolutely inedible. It tasted like eating some kind of fuel. Taste the fuel not the food? I thought that slogan was supposed to be the other way around! This time the manager was not apologetic. It was a different manager, and she actually got defensive with little quips like "Well we are really busy." OK.... didn't offer to comp our horrible chicken dinners. She admitted we were the only ones to order them that night. Each person in our party complained and said they were inedible. Bad customer service lady.... Their bar is equally hit-or-miss. It is really good (if a guy named Tim is bar tending), or is is absolutely abominable. Tim makes great drinks, and the other bartenders don't know what the heck they are doing and you will get some terrible version of your favorite cocktail. I ordered a very standard cocktail last time (Tom Collins), and the poor waitress looked at me like "what's that?". If Tim is not bar tending, just suck it up and get a beer. It's not worth the gamble! This place needs to learn a thing or two about constancy. I am afraid to go back because I know there is a 50/50 change I will have a good experience. For the most part, every waiter or waitress has been extremely friendly and overly nice. That is the best part about this joint. I can't give them a 1-star because they are an independent business, and not a chain. A rare find in suburban Peoria. But their food is all that pre-packaded production grub that comes from food service companies. It is a line kitchen... so no true chef or wizardry is occuring, its just the last stop food makes in the mega-food-production chain before your toilet. My friend and I shared the biscuits and gravy with eggs and their version of country fried potatoes, and blueberry pancakes. The gravy was super tasty, so we ordered extra! They didn't mention it, but I knew already, that there is a $1.50 charge for extra gravy. Definitely worth the extra charge!! The blueberry pancakes came with butter AND a blueberry spread made with cream cheese!! We were both raving about the blueberry pancakes with the blueberry spread!! We left stuffed and happy!! We love the tumbleweed burrito and the green chili omelet too!! BOTH are very unique and not typically on a breakfast menu!!! My friend was craving the biscuits and gravy, so we changed it up! We always share so that we have a variety and get to try new stuff. We had never had the blueberry pancakes or the biscuits and gravy. We love everything we have tried!! I will say that I am not a big fan of their breakfast potatoes. They are chunked potatoes that are deep fried. They taste like stubby french fries. It would be better if they added some grilled onion and green or red peppers to them! We love the really western vibe of this place. It is a very enjoyable place to chill and soak up all of the decor, as there is a LOT of fun stuff to look at! They also have a large outdoor seating area. We got the last table when we arrived at 9:00 a.m. on a Wednesday. By the time we left, there were dozens of people waiting! Be prepared for a possible wait! We visit Peoria each December visiting my daughter, son-in-law and large family. My daughter always asked me to list activities we want to do during our stay and JD Campbells for breakfast is always on the list. We like this place,,,alot! Lindsey was our fantastic server, and we have a large crew she had to serve, like twelve this time. It took just a minute to get three tables and two heaters put together and we were off to the races. Lindsey was quick to get hot chocolate, waters, lemonade for our clan, she was Johnny on the spot with asking if we needed more. We dine outside and it was very comfortable and with our crew. Now, my grandson commented after we left that the orders started coming out after ten minutes after ordering. Great, since we had several little ones and it kept them busy. Now to the food, great. Pancakes, french toast, bacon, all were large portions and tasty. I ordered the omelette, cheese, sausage, bacon and veggies, poured the incredible gravy all over it. All ordered the The crispy, spicy potatos, fabulous. Several of the adults had gravy as a side. Not just milk, flour, it included spices, that wonderful bacon grease and fennel. I could not get enough of it. Seriously, the gravy was, like wow! Most meals had bacon and or sausage as a side. And one more time the servings were HUGE. It is already on our list of things to do next year when we visit, Arizona. read more
