They have a great variety of deals on the clearance Isle. Their plus size section is upstairs. I guess they are not shy about making plus size women burn more calories and go upstairs. It definitely does not fit the "JC PENNEY" standard. I'm regards too; smelling expensive fragrances when you walk in. Half of their salon chairs are empty. The entire management staff is incompetent. There are constantly clothes on the floor. They have some great stuff but it is usually extremely over priced. The dressing room is tacky they have a giant box full of hangers. I would not consider it "family friendly". Also, their Sephora is abandoned. read more

One of the associates was helpful and kind. Unfortunately she left and wasn't able to ring up our purchases, because this review would be incredibly different. The cashiers who helped us weren't friendly in the slightest (three of them); then when we saw more things we wanted to buy on the way out and returned to the same cashiers, the one who actually rang up the items seemed annoyed that we'd returned....to spend MORE money in their store! Having several children, two with special needs, they got restless after we shopped for several hours. The two with special needs were playing around while my purchases were being rung up (a parent can only be one place at a time, and I was busy dropping several hundred dollars at Penney's!). A store associate yelled at them (as witnessed by my oldest child), and then I witnessed them getting yelled at when the associate didn't know I was watching. If you're looking for simple professionalism and kindness, or if you're shopping for a lot of stuff, or shopping with several children, this JC Penney's may not be the place for you. First of all this is about the photo studio not JC Penny as a store. I set an appointment for family Christmas pictures. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and I had to wait almost an hour for an "appointment". There was no point in setting one when I was forced to expect my 2 children to wait over an hour. I was informed Santa would be present to take pictures with the children and he was not there. They refused to take my coupon for pictures. It was a terrible time for myself and my children. Whatever you do find someplace else to take pictures anything is worth more than wasting time and effort with JC Penny portrait. read more

I bought 4 placemats at JC Penney's on sale for $1.59 at the Orchard store on Dec. 7, 2019. I used my Penney's charge card for a total of $6.91, then I went over to Westminster store and bought 1 more placemat using my Penny's charge card again. Same placemat but was charged $1.99 and then without asking they added .84 cents to my one placemat purchase for a total of $3.00. I asked the sale person why so much, she just said that was the tax. I got home read the receipt and .84 cents was going to JCP FDN Donation. Nobody asked me if they could do that and the receipt said the donation is non-refundable. It's not the amount, it is that the cashier just added it on without my approval and lied to me about the tax and didn't give me the credit for using Penney's charge card. They steal from you in little things they will steal from you in big things. read more

Love this JCPenny store! Took my son there to find a dress shirt for a wedding. Deborah in the men's department measured him and took us around the department finding different shirts to try on , making sure he had the right fit. You rarely see this kind of customer service anymore. The selection in the men's department was excellent. Store was clean and well organized. read more

BIG TIME. They screwed us over so much that I'm still seething over it. So you know that 2 eyeglasses for $99 deal they have? Don't fall for it. Just don't. My boyfriend and I learned it the hard way. I called them prior to my boyfriend's optical appointment and asked them a million questions to ensure that we would come in knowing exactly how much we would pay for his new glasses. The lady on the phone listened to all my boyfriend's needs (an eye test, thin lenses, and so on) and gave us a quote: $235 for an eye test and two complete pairs of glasses suited exactly to his needs. Wow, what a great deal, right?! Of course, I was aware of the possibility of paying a few extra bucks if my boyfriend decided to go with fancier frames. We expected to pay no more than 300 dollars for everything plus a few bells and whistles. Never have we been more wrong! When everything was said and done (note that my boyfriend chose one of the cheapest frames on the wall), the lady said, "Your total is $503." WHAT?! My boyfriend was all, "Uhh, I DON'T think so." He then decided to get rid of all the necessary features (which he ACTUALLY NEEDED) and ended up with one basic pair of glasses. "The new total is $288." Ugh. Whatever happened to the 2-complete-pairs-of-glasses-plus-an-eye-test-for-235-buckaroos deal I was promised over the phone? It was a lie. A complete lie. The saleswoman even went as far as to say that she was on vacation around the time I called and her replacement must've gotten a few numbers mixed up... Right. My boyfriend begrudingly paid up and we left all pissed off. If we knew this place would bend us over and screw us hard, we would've went with an optical center closer to us (we live over an hour away!) So, yeah. Don't come here. read more

This is actually a pretty big store considering it's location seperate to the typical mega-mall you would find a Penny's located. This store has two floors and has good selections in the Woman's clothing, shoes, fragrance, jewelry and intimates which are the only parts of this store I have perused. With that said I will be back soon to find draperies that Penny's is so well known for. The service has always been great; I haven't had a bad experience yet. Cribs and other items can be ordered from the comfort of the furniture department, catalog department and even from home (www.jcp.com) . This location is well and alive. The departments are great and friendly associates are around to help you. The prices are great as well as the quality of clothing that they sell in their stores. One of only three remaining stores in the now-defunct-yet-being-rebuilt Westminster Mall. That being said, it was the week before Christmas, so even THIS JC Penney was packed. I had a return (why ELSE do you go to Penney's?) and the line was bearable, if a little cramped. (Cue the skeezy old man creeper two steps too close behind me) The staff, though, was not frazzled, smiling, and helpful. She even managed to refund my credit card that I no longer had. This JCP is awesome and huge! As far as JC Penney's in this area go, this one is the best I have been in. It is really big and everything is spread out so that you have plenty of room to shop around. The clothes are beautifully laid out and hung on the racks and not crammed in so tight that you can't get to them. The prices are good. The employees and customers seemed a bit on the "older" side, which didn't bode well for my kids as one elderly employee yelled at them to stop running (when they weren't bothering anyone or causing harm and no one was around us other than her. I was right next to them too). There weren't very many people at this store either, which was nice because I could shop around without crowds. It was rough finding an employee, besides the bitter lady who yelled at my kids, to help me find stuff. read more

This store is disorganized, the associates are not trained properly, and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. I was there recently I picked out a skirt from the clearance section which was not organized or sorted in anyway whatsoever. I brought the item up front to check out where Angelica told me the skirt was not on clearance. She then said the skirt would be marked down to $7.42 the next day. So I put it on hold planning to pick it up the next day. The next day I called to make sure it was still available. I was told that it was but the price was only lowered to $21.99. I asked the manager to speak to Angelica about the pricing and was said that Angelica denied telling me the skirt would be $7.42. Overall full price items should not be in the clearance section, the items should be organized by size, and store associates should take responsibilities for there mistakes. read more

My wife and I recently bought 4 major kitchen appliances for our rental property in Arvada: a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, and stove. $2000 in all. Not a bad price. The delivery and installation went fine. Unfortunately, after the GE crew left, we discovered a crack in the dishwasher door. We called the number provided in the paperwork within the 48 hour deadline to have it replaced. This number does not take you to the sales people we worked with originally; it takes you to the JCPenny installation/delivery folks. No problem with that. We scheduled to have the dishwasher replaced. The GE crew called 30 minutes before and I met them at the rental unit. The paper work they arrived with authorized them to pick up the faulty unit. And that's it. The paper work had nothing about a replacement unit which, of course, they didn't have on the truck. They called their boss and she confirmed and was evidently powerless to do anything about it. I did not let them take the faulty unit. So I called the number and set up another time for the replacement. This time the crew arrived and the paperwork said they were to pick up the faulty unit and drop off the new unit; it said nothing about installing the new unit or uninstalling the faulty unit. The crew was allowed 10 minutes for this task. While we were waiting to talk to their boss, they indicated that this happens frequently with JCPenny. I should say the crew, in all three instances, who worked for GE, the manufacturer of the appliances, were all quite competent. I have installed appliances in my own home and know what it takes. Clearly, the link between JCPenny and GE is incompetent and nobody was able to tell me who dropped the ball. Fortunately, the crew in the third instance called their boss and he left it up to them to decide whether to do the uninstall and install. They decided to do it because the dishwasher was not wired to an electrical box but used a regular electrical plug, plugged into an outlet under the sink. As described, I had to take off time from work 3 times for this. If the last crew hadn`t been amiable, it would have been 4 times. I went to JCPenny and told this story to the appliance manager. He wrote down details, but I have heard nothing back and I don't really expect to. JCPenny is the faulty party here regardless of their interaction with GE. JCPenny took my money and are totally responsible for my satisfaction. I do not trust JCPenny and will not deal with them ever again. They have lost a customer for life. PS. For some reason YELP lists me in California, which is wrong. This happened in the Westminster Colorado JCPenny location just north of Denver. read more

My wife wanted to shop at this JC Penny location so we decided to check it out. My four year old was trying to play hide and seek in the clothes rack (Which I don't allow) I was interrupted by Selina while I was trying to correct my child's behavior for hiding in the clothes racks. Selina ignored me and addressed my children when I was mid-sentence speaking to her. My 4 year old was so embarrassed that we had to leave the store so I decided to speak with her manager patty who was excentric in her response "well I'll take her off the schedule, I just want you to be happy" who says that? I kept replying that it would not make me happy if she was fired I just want someone to bring to her attention that it's not polite to ignore the parent and address the child but she kept repeating "I just want to make you happy so she's gone there you go"? all the while sulking. WOW! Instead of solving the problem she went on the defense and minimized the situation. Her behavior was very inappropriate. We won't be returning to this store. Can't believe this store is still open. First the parking situation is miserable. It has been under construction for years so there are workers and vendors everywhere blocking the road and any parking there would have been. Everything is broken inside: the store elevator (and the baby stuff is on the 2nd floor, how are you supposed to get up there with a stroller), many of the entry doors are non functioning. There are about 3 unenthusiastic employees in the store. Avoid this location if you can. read more

We attempted to purchase a TV. They cancelled the order via email (not even a courtesy call) on the day of delivery (which we switched around our schedules to be home for). We got a call from the delivery company stating they had TWO TVs to send to us. We did the right thing, contacted JC Penney about the situation and they corrected their mistake. I also placed a small partial payment of the TV on my JC Penney credit card. Sadly, even though we purchased this TV in December, the charge is still on my credit card (it is February). I am working with the credit card company to dispute this. This has been a customer nightmare, and JC Penney has not done any service recovery for their mistakes for us. DO NOT PURCHASE ELECTRONICS from them. They have shown to be unreliable, they are novices and you will do most of the follow up if they make the mistakes. read more

Decided to give this place a try to get a haircut, went in prepared with pictures and ideas on what I wanted done. The stylist was very fun very talkative pretty much had good customer service, but as far as his skills on the sheers, awful my cut looked nothing like the picture I showed him he cut it shorter that it was supposed to be when I went to tell him "this is not what I expected" he went to say that it looked fine. I would think that if I am not happy he would try to fix it not try to convince me that it looked ok. The blow-drying went ok but then paid an extra 10.00 to have it flat ironed and that was not even done right, any ways it took too long to be there and be completely unsatisfied I just decided to leave. Paid for the almost 60.00 hair cut that was awful and still tipped on the bill because I know better than to end up being cheap. Never going back. By the way I probably should have looked around at their customers due to they are on the elder side and probably don't ask for too many hip hair cuts and or don't care.... My stylist was also running late and scheduled back to back how are they supposed to give good service when they don't have any time in between to do things the right way. I LOVE JCPenney! I really appreciate this location now because I moved, and the one near me is not nearly as neat and tidy and the lines are WAY longer than in Westminster. First of all, I'm not just targeting this store, but all JC Penney's stores. It's really sad to say, but they have the worst baby clothing department ever!! Which really sucks, because I have a JCPenny credit card, and my niece just recently had a baby girl. Anyway, I am a proud great-aunt that wants to splurge on my new baby niece, but I'm unable to, because their selection is absolutely horrible!! No offense against the elderly, but it looks like an old woman chose everything that is in their baby department. I have found cuter outfits shopping at discount stores such as Ross. I definitely expect a much better selection from JCPenney's. Until they can get a more eye catching baby selection, I will no longer be shopping for baby items there. It would really be nice to see them get rid of the stuffed animal/toy section and add more desirable baby items. read more

The JC Penney mattress delivery system is incompetent beyond belief. Here's our experience: July 2: We sign an order that specifies delivery on July 5. After the order is made out the saleslady tells us it will take two weeks, but that we will get a call before that to arrange delivery. July 12: We email the address given for "Customer Care" for an estimated delivery date. The address is furnituresupport@jcpenneyservices.com, but it turns out the email domain is no longer valid. Accordingly, I call the 800 number. After a lengthy wait on hold, I give up. I then call the store, leaving a voice mail message with my request. A sales person calls back and tells us delivery could take another week. c. July 25: I call Customer Care again, and once again give up after being placed on hold. I again call the store, but learn nothing new. c. July 27: I finally reach a Customer Care person, who says there was a paperwork failure with the order, and someone will call me back with delivery information. No one ever calls. July 28: I call the store again and leave a message. No one returns the phone call. July 30: I reach a Customer Care person to cancel the order. In an apparent effort to dissuade me, she tells me delivery of a mattress from JC Penney takes 3-4 weeks. (Of course we are now beyond even that period.) I tell her again to cancel the order and re-credit the balance on my credit card, which she promises to do. Note that not only did this process take a very long time, but I received a different story each time I called. Bottom line: I still have no mattress and have to start shopping all over again. Never, again, JCPenney. read more

So I went into the JCPenney by my house and this was the first time I have ever made an appointment for any type of portraits. I have to say the quality of the pictures were very good, but can be better. I went in thinking our appointment would be on schedule and our time used efficently. As you know it is the holidays so a little delay was fine with me. They informed me that we would be pushed back and I was totally okay with it, but the whole studio was packed and there were 4 families ahead of me even though I showed up 30 minutes before my scheduled time. In my opinion on busy holidays schedule times for photos need to be spread out and more efficient not all packed back to back. So anyways when it was our turn to head back I was excited because I had just had my first daughter (first child ever), and wanted her pictures to be perfect. She always smiles for her father and I, and we always got her happy in the photos we took (with CAMERA PHONES)! So when the photographer came back I told her what outfits I was thinking of having MY daughter in, but the photographer was insisted none of the outfits were up to "her" standard and suggesting different than what I wanted, which was making me flustered, and I mean I'm the parent and I AM PAYING FOR IT! She took the pictures so fast and they came out good, but like I said me and her father had taken better pictures, so we were expecting that same reaction from my daughter to show on a "professional" camera. Another thing when I was simply trying to ask the photographer her opinion on bows or no bows the whole time she was getting irritated with me. I'm sorry but you're getting paid and these are MY MEMORIES! THEN at checkout I got even more flustered because they were rushing me to pick picture!! I honestly walked out and told my husband choose the pictures because I was going to lose it! All in all, the picture quality good, but not great! The experience made me want to cry and I felt like I had no control on my daughters FIRST pictures. I love JCP but will be trying a different JCP studio and if my experience is anything like this one I will sadly not be returning to JCP Portraits EVER AGAIN!! read more

Im so mad!! I have been looking all day for tan pants that are skinny from the ends. I dont like bootcut pants! Well i called and asked someone ahead of time i told her what i needed and if they had some because i dont live very close to this JC Penny. Well when i got to the store i started to look for them. To start off I scheduled my appointment and they scheduled it for the wrong time. Then when I got there they were searching all over for the stylist scheduled to cut and style my hair. I explained to him that even though I have curly hair I always wear it straight. I told him I wanted a trim nothing off my bangs and nothing off the length with a little bit of layers. he said he is going to give me the perfect hair cut and did not listen one bit! Cut 3-4 inches off of my length, gave me side bangs up to my nose that are blunt straight across and butchered and he feathered my hair around my entire face bangs down (which is also very uneven and butchered! He pulled and yanked on my hair while blow drying it (thats what he considered a style). I am LIVID! I am in a wedding in less than 2 months and pissed! NEVER EVER will I recommend any Jcpenney salon to anyone. read more
