The managers have a sucky attitude because I called with a pickup order there's prompts in the directory on the phone to get someone working in pickup... NO ONE ANDWERED FOR 30 MINS. My father want to get clothing from JCPenny. He was 90 years old and couldn't travel far because of health reasons. So I applied for a credit card for the second time and my father got what he needed. I had closed my account before because of issues with the company. But I said I would give them another try. I only did it for my father. Well my father passed only after 6 months after getting his new clothes. I tried to return new clothing but they refused. So again I informed them to give me the total so I can close them out. A few moths later informing me that I was late on payments. I told them I closed my account and they agree only to say I didn't pay that months bill of $7.45. I was so mad because they had assured me my account was closed. Now my bill is already in the 50-60 and they are taking me to court. They have ruined my credit that I had rebuilt after a security leak. Don't shop her they take advantage to make money anyway the can. Go to Macy or a company that respect their customers read more

SALON REVIEW Since the salon at this location does not have a way to leave reviews, I'm leaving it on the general store account. Long post ahead so here are the cliff notes: GO SEE ALMA FOR ALL OF YOUR COLOR NEEDS!!!!! I promise you will not regret it, and you'll never go to anyone again!! While I want to be selfish and keep her to myself so I can guarantee an appointment anytime I need one, I much prefer her get the business she deserves! I've been in San Antonio for 2 years and have yet to find someone I trust to even cut my hair, let alone color it. I got tired of my natural blonde and decided to go brown from an HEB box color. It was fine for awhile, but I ended up missing my natural blonde, however, I waited 3 months before feeling brave enough to get it colored. When I tell you everyone messes up my hair, I mean everyyyyone! I ask for strawberry blonde and they gave me strawberry shortcake pink. I asked for darker hair, but instead ended up with bleach blonde highlights added to make my natural blonde "look less blonde" but ended up just giving me white strands. Tried to get face-framing bangs, but ended up with a larger than life chunk of bangs cut straight across my nose. Tried to get layers and ended up with two layers- one at my shoulder blade and one at my bra strap. After finally deciding to get my hair done, I started looking at JCP salons and decided to go to the one in Alamo Ranch. I met Alma and was nervous given my pst experiences with color, but she immediately calmed those anxieties within her first comment to me. I told her that I had another salon look at my hair & desired outcomes and that hair dresser informed me it would require an all over color and would take around 3 hours to complete. She replied that all I needed was some highlights to achieve "that" [the picture of what I wanted my hair to look like]. When I tell you Alma is an angel of a woman, I MEAN SHE PERFORMED A MIRACLE ON MY HAIR. Not only was I more than happy with my hair, but I was in the chair earlier than my appointment and was walking out with new confidence & feeling like a total bombshell in under 2 hours. In addition to being incredibly talented, she was also so sweet. I'm not usually one for small talk when I'm getting my hair or nails done, but Alma just radiated this aurora that was so calming and sweet. We talked about what got her into hair and how she has been doing color for over 20 years. We talked about how one of her grand babies is the same age as my students and she asked about my upcoming wedding. We discussed my fiancés job and talked about her significant other. I will certainly be back to see Alma and highly suggest everyone go to her. As women, we need to look out for one another so I'm looking out for her business and looking out for y'all's hair. Please be careful with this JCPenney location for any fine jewelry purchases or repairs. Me and my partner had recently purchased a ring and needed it sized down. However, we were informed by the repair company that they could not size down the ring because doing so might compromise its integrity, despite the original tag stating it could be. This matter was not in any fault to JCPenneys, but the actions employees took after made a small problem bigger. When the problem was first communicated to us, an employee at the store offered two options: resend the ring to try again or issue a refund, as the employee believed they could still get it resized despite what the repair company stated. We, the customers, requested that the employee first email the repair shop to confirm whether it was indeed possible to repair the ring without compromising its integrity before we decided on a refund or resending the ring. The employee agreed and assured us they would get back to us within two days with an update from the repair shop. Additionally, the employee asked us to leave the ring at the store to keep it safe until we decided. Almost a week passed without any communication from the store. Concerned, we called the store only to discover, after lots of back and forth, that the ring had been sent out again without our consent. This was done despite our explicit instructions to wait for our decision after contacting the repair shop. Furthermore, when we requested copies of the repair slips and the letter from the repair shop, we were denied. This lack of transparency added to our frustration and disappointment. Our main concern is how this store allows their employees to make decisions for the customer and send off a ring to get resized without verbal or written permission from us, as it is our property. As well as, will the store or repair shop be liable for the integrity of the ring since it was worked on without our consent? As of now, we have still not been contacted on this matter. The process the store followed should not be allowed. Proceeding with the resizing without our authorization, effectively going behind our backs, is unacceptable. We were very patient and understanding at first, but we expected better service and clearer communication. This incident has severely impacted our trust in JCPenney's customer service. My hope is you take our experience and be mindful when trusting this store with your future jewelry purchases and repairs. read more

Customer service is trash! I did curbside because I couldn't walk in the store at the time. I waited 20 mins. Nobody came out... I called for 15 mins trying every department to get someone to answer the phone. Finally the salon answered and transferred me to the manager. The manager didn't even answer or called me back. Had color applied 4 different occasions. On two of the occasions the color was wrong. Every time was a new experience - as if I walked in from the street as a new customer. This is because my stylist never took any notes detailing what she did to my hair or how I spent time and money in her chair. I should have figured it out sooner. But I didn't. After the second application of wrong color, I asked it to be fixed and it got worse. So bad I had to schedule for an additional fix the next day. It took a lot of courage to go back to the salon to get my color fixed but I was prepared to have a constructive conversation with my stylist. I was acknowledge upon arrival and placed in a room where I sat for 20 minutes before going to the desk to see if my 'beautician; was aware she had an appointment. I was told they tried to contact her unsuccessfully - but had relayed the message. Eventually someone offered to go to the BREAK ROOM to get her. FFS At this point it was pretty apparent that my stylist gave zero effort to the task of keeping their corporate promise to me: "Life is hectic enough. Your salon experience should be an escape". Everything from original appointment to follow-thru was a series of missed opportunities. I have gotten my money refunded, permanently left their salon, and am now seeking someone to perform COLOR CORRECTION. If you're looking for a salon, do yourself a favor and find one that leads with delivering consistency and offers a professional experience. read more

If I could give JCPenny Salon a negative star, I would. I took my daughter to get curtain bangs and the beautician completely cut her bangs too short. Never mind the fact that when we got to the counter there were 5 ladies including the beautician and we all discussed cutting my daughters bangs into curtain bangs. We even went over where to start cutting her bangs so they wouldn't be too short. I walked to the back with the beautician and again we discussed where to start cutting her bangs. I went to JCP Sephora- was not too thrilled or impressed with them. They had one other customer aside from me, so they were not busy. When I asked where their "Anastasia" products were at, I was pointed to the area and then told "oh we had a leak last night so watch out." I was a little taken back, and after I grabbed what I needed ( which they could have done), I wondered if any of their display products were compromised- it was a sore site to see. It's appealing, and that's good from a business sense. I really think the folks that work there are just constantly in blah mode. They don't smile and they try to avoid you (the customer) at all costs. Love JC Penny! Great deals on quality clothing. Love the coupons they offer on a regular basis. You can find really great deals! Who doesn't love saving a buck or two? This particular store in Alamo Ranch is always well stocked with new merchandise always available. The store itself is extremely clean and well maintained. I have always been fortunate enough to have had great service here. My only complaint is that there is almost always a line when checking out. Online sale prices are not price matched in the store :-( I was not happy about that. They did offer me the credit card to sign up for, to get a discount. Um, no thanks! That's not the same thing at the end of the day. Home/Bedding section is ok, not a lot of color variety to choose from. It's mostly matching sets ... nothing individual. Curtains/Window panels section was nice however only 1 person working (that day was just bad timing when I went... a grumpy lady demanding curtains were rushed to her home ASAP and she wouldn't pay for the expedited shipping). The bath towel section was great, lots of choices - I plan on going back and buying what I have left on my wedding registry. The store overall was tidy and sections were clearly labeled. Each section had organized racks and nicely displayed manikins. I had no clue there was a Sephora in there, bonus! I like Ulta (just down the strip mall) but my make-up has coupons that Sephora accepts (and Ulta does not). The check out line is by the entrance/exit... it's not like an actual mall where each clothing section has its own cashier. The line can be slow even though 4+ cashiers are working. read more

We were passing by and saw a big sign on the outside of the building that they are now selling appliances at the Alamo Ranch location. Since we are undergoing a kitchen renovation, and need new appliances, we decided to stop in see how their prices compete. We were approached by Mario, and asked if he could answer any questions. We got to talking and we told him what we were looking for. He told us that the appliances are not being sold in every location and that location is the only one right now while they pilot the program. Mario was very knowledgeable, and answered our questions without hesitation. The dishwashwer we wanted was a little out of price range, but Mario advised that JCP will price match, whether it is an online price or in store price. That made my husband very happy! With Mario's help, we were able to find the same model a little cheaper somewhere else, and he honored the lower price. They were also able to deliver on the weekend, which was a huge deal for us, since we've been dealing with contractor's only coming during the week to do work. The delivery guys called the day before to give us a delivery window, and then called 30 minutes before they were ready to deliver. When they showed up, they were professional, and friendly. They installed the appliance, and cleaned up after themselves. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and we are planning on buying our other appliances there as well. read more

Sad to report a terrible review after working for JCP for over 7 years back in the 90's. I've always felt a connection to the company who taught me so much. Saturday evening we encountered a very rude manager by the name of Suzanne. I was shopping for Christmas gifts with my daughter and I taught her to take a picture of the sale sign in case it doesn't match up at the register. When we were checking out, a few of our items did not match up and the young man used our pictures for proof of the sale. One of the pictures was in question due to the reg. price not matching the reg. price of the 2 blouses I was buying. He said he needed a manager because he didn't know what to do. He called for a manager and we waited. He explained to manager Suzanne and showed her the picture on my daughter's phone. She proceeded to touch the screen of the phone in order to zoom in on the regular price printed on the sale sign. She told me the sign didn't match the blouses and they were not on sale. I explained that the four arms of the rack are the same blouse but in 4 different colors. She told me the description didn't match and that they were not on sale. I explained that she needed to honor the price because it was their fault it was displayed incorrectly. She told me the best she could do was $19.99! I told her that was not the fair thing to do since the sale sign clearly states $17.99. She said no, she was not going to honor the $17.99 and again the best she could do was $19.99. After going back and forth a few times with her, I stated that I would leave the entire $200 plus purchase if she didn't honor the sale price posted on the rack. She simply stated "okay". I again started to plead my case to her and she told me the blouses are $19.99 and walked off dismissing me. I felt very disrespected when she rudely walked off to dismiss me. I asked for her name. She said, "Suzanne". I asked for her last name and walking off she called over her shoulder and said, "Suzanne". I began to follow her as the walked away while behind the registers and I again asked for her last name. She turned to me and said she didn't feel comfortable telling me her last name. I again asked her for her last name so I could report her behavior and she turned to me and said, "Are you harassing me?" I was in shock with that statement because I was merely asking for her name. She finally stopped walking away and turned around to walk back to the counter saying "ugh, this isn't worth the $2" and proceeded to walk back to the young man standing at the register. I told her "EXACTLY!" I sarcastically thanked her for doing the right thing and honoring the sale sign. She ignored me while talking to the young man and walked away. I am baffled at the customer service given by this manager. I would expect a higher level of customer service from anyone working at JCPenney. At least that is how I was trained many moons ago! In the end, I guess the joke is on her because the young man told me about a 30% off coupon on the blouses ended up coming down to $12. Pretty great of a deal for a $38 Liz Claiborne blouse. My last visit I encountered bad service at the Sephora counter and this last time it was at the store checkout. Our cashier was a young man named Thomas, he didn't greet us nor did he ask if we had rewards. Apparently, messages on his phone were more important than the customers in front of him. Extremely disappointed with the General Manager of the photo department. She was so rude to my mom who booked an appointment to have family pictures taken. There's 8 of us and she wanted pictures done in normal clothes, and for my husband and I she wanted us to wear our military uniforms for other pictures. The sessions are only 15 minutes so we wanted to purchase 2 back to back sessions and they said no, because it's not fair to other customers. She was so rude about it and wouldn't even let us buy another session later in the day. Why wouldn't a store want to make $400 instead of $200? This is not the only time I've heard of issues with this store. My in-laws also tried to get pictures done and JC penny's was over an hour late and again, they were rude. I understand rules and policies, but when speaking to customers, you should probably have a better attitude. read more

Jewlery dept cashier rang up a Caucasian male paying for items not from that dept. I am a female that had 4 items and was told to pay at the regular registers. I called the store manager from the parking lot and all she said was they were only ringing out purchases from the jewelry department. when I told her that the associate had rang up a individual with non jewelry items made no difference. So very disappointed and sad to see the state this JCP store is in. There were clothes all over the floor, clothes on table displays were all thrown around. I worked for JCP for 20 years (15 years ago) I remember store managers walking around the store to make sure everything was in order....just made me sad to see the pride gone from this major retail store. I guess they have fallen on hard times and are unable to hire sales associates to assist customers and keep merchandise in order. I didn't see one associate while I was shopping. read more
