Yikes. Many people ask if you need help to assign their name to what you are buying, but they don't want to help beyond that. Most of the workers slink around the store, all looking miserable. Tons of items to choose from, but you want to leave as soon as you can. I had to return to exchange boots because the left was too tight. That threw them for a loop, and they seemed perplexed. It was eventually dealt with by a manager, but only after the workers made eyes at each other concerning her whereabouts. Environment: Does the AC work? Hello my Texas friends. I normally give good reviews however today's experience was an eye opener as of what society has become. I'm from California wanting to buy boots for my husband, grandson and myself. I was at the register to pay and since one of my orders needed to be shipped to my home. They needed the "Manager" I was in line in front of the "Manager" He was counting money and not once acknowledged myself and my family. The young lady at the next register asked him if she can help? He said yes, now I move to her and everything was going great. Until she needed his assistance to place my order. The sales reps that assisted us with Brent and Damien were very helpful and respectful. The register young lady asked the manager for help. Well, this is when I experience the poor customer service management. He ignored her and the sales rep since they kept going to him for help. 15 mintutes go by and nothing. What is he doing? Out there looking at some lights outside the store? Mind you im still patiently waiting for him to assist his employee. I asked the workers is there another manager and unfortunately they said no! I respectfully said "wow does he always do this? Or it just happens to be that I'm the lucky one that's gets this type of service? Keep in mind I work for customer service in management for a pediatric and invasive vent patients division. I take my job with pride and willing to HELP. I don't let color, race or politics evolve with my duties as management. Im giving a 1 star because of their poor management. As far as the workers I will give them a 5 star. This store is insane with the vast amount of boots, clothing, hats, etc you could possibly want. I'm not a huge fan of western wear per say but this place changed my mind. I found a lot of cute "casual" boots but also fell in love with their "wedding" line. If you're teetering and are curious about this type of stuff, I'd say this is the place to come. Go to place for work wear or event wear. Helpful staff right at the door. Feel good atmosphere and more answers to questions you might not have thought to ask. I walked in not dressed as though I belonged there. But the staff tried to make sure that I was at home. Bought boots for my wife and granddaughter on 2nd visit. The salesperson, I believe name was Meghan, took time with each to ensure a good fit, and lots of wear. Discounts and prices got both fitted for under $200 (amazing). Not the best customer service. I went up to an associate and you can tell they didn't want to be working. Was shopping for boots for toddlers and the associates are uneducated on how kids sizing works. Associates will tell you their name to be mentioned at the from desk so they can get the sale but won't stick around you to help during your shopping. read more

But it is a distinct difference between asking if I need help and "guest servicing" me.. when you have to ask me if I need help 3 to 4 times within 30 seconds, and I say no to all... and you still ask if I would like them to put my two shirts at the front counter??... it's obvious.. you didn't ask my wife or daughter who where on the other side of the store. I get it I don't look like the "type" to purchase this type of attire but I do! Really sick of it Cavenders!!! I came to buy an American Brand straw hat after i had picked the one i liked i asked the guy to shape it for me. Unfortunately didn't really do a good job the crown of the hat was bent down it original shape for almost two inches didn't fit me like it actually did while i was trying it on. Second the brim in the front was left uneven the left side was bent down more than the right. What i noticed is the staff left a bent on the hat which i went to three different places to get it fixed and is it cannot be fixed at all Literally a brand new straw hat to the trash. read more

Ya know at this location I will say I've had the best service whenever I'm buying something. They are alittle higher priced but for what they offer it's just gonna be so I go from weekend to weekend keeping my wardrobe fresh with these guys. If you're looking for boots they're gonna have your best selection, as well as men's work clothes for just about anything. What great find this store was. We were visiting from California and going to my nieces wedding. It was a western style wedding and we picked up everything we needed to wear. I am writing this review to express my opinions on this store and its leadership. My daughter recently resigned from this store after being completely harassed, demoralized, and frustrated by the leaders in this store. Constantly she would be counseled on her attire. Management would complain and harassed her on her pants being too baggy at the thighs, belt buckle too large, not allowed to wear the t-shirts that were sold in their store, unable to wear a jacket (store's temp was cold) even complains on not showing enough boots as her pants were long. She was even pressured to buy clothes from this store to address her "horrible" dress code infraction. On the morning of 06.12.2021 @ 9 am, my wife and I decided to take my daughter to work and asked her to put in her resignation, effective immediately. This store pays only slightly over minimum wage and to us it was not worth our minor daughter be treated with such disrespect. My motivation to write this review is due to the the fact that later on that day my daughter was contacted by some of her peers. They stated that management ( Echo and Gloria) were conducting a character assassination on our daughter. This type of leadership behavior is completely unprofessional. For two adult women to negatively speak about an employee that has resigned, especially a minor child is uncalled for. This type of behavior from this two women triggered me to conduct some research to locate what I believed was the cell phone # of this store's regional manager (Ron). I called that # that afternoon and left a message to discuss this inappropriate and immature behavior from two adult women. As of 06.20.2021 I have not heard from regional manager. I used to hold The Cavender name in such a high standard, but after what my family has experienced, I will never shop anywhere Cavender. Bought quite a bit. Well over $1,000. I'm sure others have bought more but I bought several pairs of boots, clothes, and accessories. Saw many associates from the moment I walked in and not a single individual asked if I needed assistance even though it was pretty obvious I did need it. Caitlin is the only name I got because she rang me up. Attitude when I asked for a particular size for a boot I walked up with (nobody helped me)... attitude when I asked for boxes for the boots I purchased.... Attitude period. My teenage children were witness to it all. I was stunned how much racism and unprofessionalism I experienced. I say this because I am Hispanic and not served, yet sales associates and cashiers were polite, friendly, and offering assistance to everyone else in the store that was Caucasian and I seriously never use the "race card" but wow. I definitely spent more than the people ahead and behind me too. Even a mother and her two daughters in line behind us were making rude comments about how much I spent and wanting boxes for all our boots. Cavender's cannot control their patrons' actions but I truly believe based on their staff they attract that kind of business as well. I will never shop at this store again. I will actually probably return the items that weren't gifts so as to not give them business. read more

Great places to shop for boots, clothes and other western goods! They have a huge selection and sizes to pick from. Prices are comparable if not great on key selections. Watch for sales or coupons to help out even more. Great location off of 1604 and Culebra Rd with a large paKing lot, handicap spots as well.
