Boot barn is a great place to find your first pair of boots. I was pleased that the people in sales are not pushy and allow you to peruse all you want before you make your decision. They are there to truly help you find what you need. I find the prices a bit pricier for my taste, but the value you get for what you pay is worth it. If you are close and/or can make it to the store, I would suggest going to the store in Leon Valley off the 410 express as this stor has the most varied selection. There is merchandise here, and prices, that you will not find online. anyway, n ot all the vendors merchandise is sized the same. For example, I am anXL and two vests firt me perfectly, a third did not and i had to go to 2XL which I found to be smaller 2XL than normal. read more

I finally received the exchange on 3/21/24 about a month... then I get an email saying I have a balance of $40 ... when it was just and exchange. Nicholas was great, provided amazing customer service, very patient. I went into the fitting room about 20 times and every time I came out I changed my mind and he didn't get bothered by it at all. Being a big and tall guy it's hard to find good fitting jeans but each pair that Nicholas gave me seem to fit perfect. I've compared their pricing to other local places and they are on par with all the others - join their membership club for additional discounts, cash credit, etc. (it's free). Very spacious store, VERY helpful staff constantly moving around the store helping customers. They carry all the name brand stuff you are looking for and have PLENTY of space for trying boots on, walking around, etc. NOTE: if they don't have your size of something in stock, they will locate it at another store or order it for you - and not charge any shipping charges if you pick it up at the store. I was shopping for a pair of cowgirl boots for myself. I am flat footed since I don't have arches on either of my feet. I was hoping to find at least a couple of boots to choose from that are available in wide width, unfortunately they only had one pair and it wasn't in my size! When I asked the young lady working up front, she confirmed that it was the ONLY pair in the store for women that was available in wide width. I left feeling extremely disappointed! They really should carry at least a couple of wide width boots in each size. They forever lost a customer! I ended up getting a very nice pair of boots from one of their competitors. read more

We came in on a Saturday with our son to "look for boots for mom", in all actuality we went for him to try on a pair to get his size and style of boot which fits him perfectly. He picked out a pair he really wanted and we told him they were too expensive. My husband had given the boots to a young lady who had helped us to hold for us to come back and pick up when our son wasn't with us. I had picked out a pair I wanted as well. We came in this morning (Sunday) to make the purchase for both pairs of boots and thankfully the young lady who helped us yesterday was there because she recognized us and went to get the boots. We were telling the girl at the counter that we had 2 pairs of boots in the back with our name and number on them and she still didn't seem to comprehend what we were saying to her. She brings the boots to us and hands them over. We ask about shoe boxes. We were told by the cashier that they don't have boxes for free but we could purchase some. What?!?! I mean, we just spent a lot of money on boots... Men's and women's boots are expensive. Who really wants to have to purchase a stupid box to put the boots in? Not me!!Why not save the box the boots came in originally and then package them in that box at the time of purchase? If it had not been for our son really wanting boots for Christmas, we would not have made that purchase. I'll stick with Cavender's from now on! read more

On vacation in San Antonio for the second time visiting my sister and nieces. Decided this time I wasn't leaving Texas without a pair of cowboy boots to take back home to New York City with me. Came here and was an interesting store. My family looked at the boots, seen a pair that I ended up buying. James helped me, he was a little hard to read at first when I asked for his help but he was cool especially when I said "you DO want this money right cause I'm gonna buy these boots with somebody today!" I went in for the first time today and was looking for a specific pair of red boots, I asked one of the sales women for help and as I was telling her what I wanted she kept saying that maybe I wouldn't want red because it doesn't match with anything, I respect her opinion but I'm asking for something specific why are you trying to talk me out of it? Turns out they didn't have what I was looking for, no big deal. The sales woman at this point starts to question me about the tattoos on my arms (I am heavily tattooed) and says " So how are you going to feel about your tattoos when you're 70 and wrinkled? They're going to be so ugly." And then proceeds to say "How disappointed was your mother when you got those?" and then proceeded to ask other tattoo probing questions. First of all, it is none of her business to be asking questions like that, how can someone be so rude to a customer who's looking to spend money in your establishment?!? I would never ask her why she feels the need to wear that stupid cowboy hat she's wearing, it's her personal choice, I will never be returning to Boot Barn for the simple fact of I do not need to feel judged for my personal choices on how I want to express myself. Teach your sales people some customer service skills please, Boot Barn. read more
