Came here to do some shopping for my daughter. It's your typical department store shopping experience. The girls section was clean & organized, but not well-stocked in some items with sizing. We received some pleasant customer service when we were nicely greeted by a worker, had another helpful worker answer a question, and encountered a friendly lady at checkout. However, I am not a fan of the centralized checkout situation. I dread making the trek to pay & have experienced such long lines and waits here. Even when the line builds, it might be only one person at the registers, & even with 3 workers, it's been slow goings. read more

Probably should have avoided the weekend since most people here are for Back to School shopping. One annoyance is the Fitting Rooms. One was closed and the other near the main Register Checkout was over crowded. There is this eldery handicap lady in her Electric Wheel Chair blocking the aisle way and entrance. Waiting for her daughter and grandkids. She continues to block and manuever her way in the entrance way just to see her Grandkids. She has no awareness for around her. Even when asked to move. I was surprised there was no staff to contril the flow. But that is a management issue to resolve. The next annoyance, and I feel this was more of a Corporate consolidation of employee headcount and Electronic Equipment costs or simply out with the old and in with the new. Is the New checkout counter near the parking structure right at the entrance/exit doors. If you have been to an Outlet and seen those maze lines for check out purchases. Well JcPenny's adopted that maze line checkouts. This new process now makes JcPenny feel like Burlington Coat Factory, Ross or Marshalls. Gone now are the Department Cashiers and their Department Expertise and Customer Service. However, the Cashiers don't seem to be enthusiastic (except for one, Samantha I believe. Very cheeful and helpful) when it comes to providing a checkout experiences. They continue to look past their registers to see how long the lines are. And you could see their faces of annoyance, irritations and grumpiness. Overall, JcPenny's still provides great products for the mid-range shoppers such as myself. They still carry quality name brands at affordable prices. Not to expensive and not Walmart cheap. In this 21st century, people of all ages expect or demand a "Amazon like" immediacy of products or huge in stock inventory that, as I over heard a customer, "the stuff should be here like how Amazon has stuff readily available the warehouses". And this is why Amazon is slowly killing Shopping Centers. Amazon controls the Supply & Demand of cheap products. Companies rather not ship items to malls to save in cost and in-store inventory. But people love the click, buy, ship and return of products without visiting the malls. read more

Haven't stepped foot in this yesteryear chain store in decades. There are no longer check out registers in each department. You must find the main check out registers nearest exit doors. Sadly the amount of merchandise in the store is scarce and possibly reflective of how long this store might remain in business. The clerk at the register was not pleasant, happy to be there or welcoming. It will be decades before I step foot in this store if I can help it. read more

The first thing that I always notice, is the piles of disgusting trash on the ground right outside the entrance of the store. They need to put a trash can out there. The store is well stocked and kept clean, except for the fitting rooms. The customer service is almost non existent, and every cashier we have ever had here are so slooooow! read more

I love coming to JCPenney's in Roseville one of my favorite places to shop. They have a very wide selection a different items to choose from. They don't just have clothes. They have home appliances and much more. This is one of my favorite places to get my jeans because they always have the best last ax sale that is one of my favorite the best time to go shopping because you will find great deals plus every time you put your phone number in when checking out that builds up point to take money off of your purchasesuse your JCPenney card that also helps them accommodate you and give you a good deal. The staff that works at this location are very helpful very efficient. I also love the salon in JCPenney's because they have lots of namebrand shampoos and items to choose from definitely one of my favorite places to do my holiday shopping and do a little shopping for myself if you have not checked them out, I would recommend checking out JCPenneys.com. Probably about two months ago we went to JCPenney at the galleria to replace a silver chain That had broken for my heart locket with my dogs ashes in it. Paula helped us... She was so nice and helpful...these days there aren't many great retail/sales people. Very personable and we started talking about our pets... Next time I need a piece of jewelry I'll definitely go back to JCPenney and hopefully she'll be there. I have been shopping at JC pennys for a very long time even before the galleria mall came. We would always be long time shoppers at sunrise mall. I love coming here because they have very reasonable prices on everything. You could always find a great deal and the fact that I have my JCPenney credit card every time I give my phone number and use that credit card every 200 points I get a $10 off on my purchase and who doesn't like to save money I know I do, this establishment has something for everybody to even have a hair salon where you could have your hair done get it eyebrow wax. Whatever you may need for men and women they even have inside of JCPenney, JCPenney, beauty or you could go and browse for perfumes, make up and much more and upstairs they have the Home department which is plates vacuums in much more upstairs is also where their pet aisle is and pajamas and intimates are also upstairs along with the men's department they also have a photography department available at this establishment and upstairs. They have an optical department as well. This store definitely has some thing for everybody. Staff here is very friendly, very helpful and you always find whatever you're looking for. I always find more but knowing that I have my JC pennies card and I'm getting savings and getting points is definitely worth it. The rewards program is definitely worth it. is definitely worth it. Saving money on my purchases always makes me happy shopping with the great experience. Makes me even happier. This establishment is awesome. They have elegant wear namebrand shoes and much much more. I would give 0 if I could. Purchased a diamond ring from the Roseville JCPenneys for about $1000, and the diamonds are constantly falling out. 1st Repair: 3 missing diamonds around the halo, returned for repair and waited a month 2nd Repair: 2 missing diamonds around the halo, only a few months after the last repair. Returned again and requested a buy back due to low quality. Was told the jeweler (a JCPenney jeweler) gets to determine the quality, not the customer. If they decide it's good quality, no return. They denied my buyback and repaired my ring. 3rd Repair: Only wore the ring ONCE because at this point I don't trust the diamonds won't come out. After ONE WEAR one of the main diamonds fell out. Called to speak with a manager and they continue to tell me that the jeweler gets to decide the quality, but "we can let them know you're interested in a buyback". No. I am demanding a buyback. As a customer, I am the only rightful person to judge the quality of YOUR product. What an absolutely SCAM that the person selling the product gets the final say, when they're incentivized to make money off you. DO NOT buy jewelry from this store. It's cheap, low quality and you'll spend half your time chasing down a repair. If anyone had been helpful AT ALL about assisting me with a buyback or escalating the situation, maybe there would be a silver lining in this review. It's still open!! Some are closing shop but this one is in a primo location. The Galleria!! Parking sucks in this whole mall most days. Just drive around for 10 minutes then a spot opens up. Some of the fitting rooms are closed. The family bathroom is messy and needs to be cleaned. There is bookuu clearance in every corner. If they dropped the prices then they might make a profit. Came here and this boy was at the register named Cody was awful. He was super rude with bad attitude. Seriously he needs to be terminated because he was violent and seemed to be extremely hostile. Jcp really needs to terminate this guy as we were watching his actions and motions with us and his behavior was questionable. I really think he may be dangerous for customers and staff who have to work with him. He ended up storming off and saying something foul. My brothers and husband were in the car. We stopped in here to look for polo-style mens shirts and were having trouble finding ones with a breast pocket. The clothing section was rather large, and I decided to ask one of the store associates for help. It was an older gentleman, and he gave us his attention like we were the most important order of business (something that I appreciated very much). In such a busy shopping season, staff at retail outlets can get harried and pulled in many directions. The sales associate deftly guided us to an area that we hadn't searched and found us several shirts with pockets like we wanted. We thanked him for his help and went on our way, mission accomplished. The store had a lot of merchandise in stock, but it was a bit confusing to find something specific. I am glad that they did seem to have sufficient staffing to be able to assist customers. My daughter's both got clothes for their birthday and tried to exchange then, and were told without a gift receipt or receipt they would get lowest sales price within last 45 days. You get two stars for Sephora and one for the few people you have staffed and overworked to the gills in your actual store. JCPenney...you've used this pandemic and subsequent bankruptcy as an excuse to provide LESS customer service. I didn't think it was possible to get by with fewer employees on the floor (excluding Sephora), and to do it in fewer hours than any other store in the mall. You close at 7:00pm, and you should at least consider staying open until 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. Last Saturday evening we arrived at the mall at 7:00pm and your store was dark, the mall however, was bustling with shoppers who could've been spending their money in JCP. There were several hundred people looking for places to spend. You could've at least staffed a couple registers for the shoppers who most definitely would have been inside Penney's shopping, definitely spending more than the cost of labor for staffing. When we left the mall at 8:20pm (Macy's was still open until 9:00pm, I might add) there was quite a lot of traffic with everyone leaving. Your Roseville store is usually fairly clean, unfortunately your pandemic selection has been lacking since you reopened last summer, but it's slowly improving. I'm not sure how you accomplish the tidiness in your store with the lack of manpower...and may I just say, please treat your workers better, they are spread so thin, I know staffing is 100,000% a corporate decision, and those loyal employees are dealing with the public during a worldwide pandemic, risking their health, handling the complaints from people stuck in long lines, socially distanced (or not), whining about all varieties of mask issues (they hate wearing them, other people aren't wearing them, why isn't JCP providing them...), are your front lines, and NOBODY on the corporate level has a clue. Seriously corporate, work a shift at one of your registers or do some store recovery, fill a few EP orders, maybe you'll extend the appreciation your employees deserve, maybe not. As a customer service worker, I have the utmost respect for your supervisors who don't get to lunch, but clock out for it because they are making sure everyone else gets their breaks on time, your cashiers and (now few) recovery workers are listening to the public complain about matters well beyond their control, and quite frankly, pay grade. I really wish you'd do better for your customers...give your them one more hour, two times a week. Oh yeah, I am a Penney's card holder, and have probably spent close to $20,000 on your store in the past couple years, I prefer to actually visit the store to purchase certain things, and your shipping time is ridiculously long compared to other retailers. Seriously, quit with charging for shipping, nobody worth their salt does that anymore (at least I don't pay for shipping at Kohl's, Macy's, Nordstrom, stand alone Sephora stores, Costco, Crate & Barrell...). Fairly sure this review will only be read by your store manager, that corporate won't see it, but if they do, please truly, sincerely thank your front line workers. I'll do the same. read more

The clerk Yihon or Yohin was so friendly and helpful. She helped my disabled friend find some denim jeans in his size. Then found some 1/2 price. So he was able to buy two! Paul was another clerk who helped my friend by reaching for his size on the upper shelf. Those 2 employees demonstrated team work and made for an enjoyable shopping experience. Yihon rung up the transaction. Followed by a beautiful smile and wishing us a fun weekend. This is why I continue to shop at JC Penney. There are other helpful clerks in the store too. read more

The women at Sephora are fantastic! They have solved so many of my problems because they listen and they know their products. And if something doesn't work out, it's not a problem. They are always polite and friendly. It is fun to go there and rack up points! If I could only do my make up like theirs... The only complaint I have is people steal products, so they don't always know actual inventory and they are often out of products I want to buy. Please solve that problem!!! This review is for their PROM DRESS selection, for which I was pleasantly surprised! I almost don't go in thinking that they would not have what I was looking for, but they had just as many dresses as Macy's with the same quality and better prices! Just another store to prove my point to my Husband that Prom Dresses can be easily found for under $150! +1. The day I came in, all dresses were 40% off... Score! I was surprised to see such a good sale with Prom still being weeks away. It was also nice to see that the old JCPenney sales were back! The prices for the dresses seemed to be all over the place, with some being $118 and some being $68 but with the 40% off (plus an additional 10-20% off for using your JCPenney Card) they were a steal! While I was browsing the dresses I was greeted briefly by a sales associate putting some dresses away. I didn't catch her name, but I appreciated that she approached me and struck up a conversation. This location also has a nice Portrait Studio which I would highly recommend, and a nice little Sephora "store in a store" which has been helpful during the holidays for finding items that the main Sephore store was out of. I really hope the new CEO brings JCPenney's out of the funk that it's currently in... After my visit this weekend, I definitely think it's headed in the right direction. Our shopping experience was off to a bad start with the lacking men's big & tall section. We picked up our items, brought them to the register, and Gail was there to greet us. From the start, she had an attitude. She mocked my fiancé when he refused to speak to her, as he did not feel the desire to converse. Signage for masks but nobody hounding you! A far more professional and inviting atmosphere than a lot of the "protocol-heavy" stores have taken on. As someone with a medical condition who can't wear a mask, it is a wonderful relief to not have to say it anytime you want to browse some shoes or even just pass through to the mall.
