Not the one owned by Timberlake... that's JT Penney. This is probably my favorite JCPenney in town, and long may it be here. It's at Memorial City which is a great and massive mall and always a good place to visit for shopping and fun and people watching. Much like Lou, I had a wonderful experience with the sales people here and that's why I give a store which is overpriced and somewhat antiquated a 4-star rather than my usual two or three for this type of big box chain. read more

This store is abysmal! They failed to follow up on any calls. They took my fiancés wedding band for resizing, and when we called in for an update they hung up after 20 minutes on hold, second call of 8 minutes on hold. 3rd call took our information and didn't follow up, service rep Pam in online area. 4th call spoke to Rachel a manager, and she promised a call back, which never ever happened, and then attempted a complaint to corporate and Abril in Guatemala Call Center said no manager was available. I like parking here on the 2nd floor garage, always easy in and out. Their latest promotion, find it at a better price, they beat it by 5%. Read the fine print. A few years ago there was controversy about their "no sales price, all low prices". Thank goodness that is gone. Back to the RED ZONE. BUT, I found clothing without a price, hey luckily there were two associates stocking. I asked them about a price check, they said go to the register. I did, there was a long line, I left. read more

After my recent visits to the Memorial City Mall store and the Meyerland store, this is a better store. I was here on Good Friday. There were crowded but the lines moved fast. It doesn't take me long time to choose from the clearance racks. No issues with anyone. In fact, as soon as I mentioned my online coupon, the cashier told me "I've got a paper one here." Wow. I was all blown away with her friendliness and prompt check out. I went upstairs to see household goods. I quickly found what I wanted. Yeah! It's still a bummer to pay for the toll on Beltway, tho. But I managed to get more done while at Memorial City Mall. Parking was expected to be crazy but I didn't have to walk across the busy street this time. For some reason, there were more security patrols in the parking lot. read more

Curbside is located on the second floor, and in the parking lot (to the side) on the second floor. There is no signs that I could see. Also, the employees give you wrong directions. Because it is understaffed, you have to wait in line just to find out you are at the wrong location. Hopefully this helps someone save some time read more

I like this store but it feels so crowded! I prefer Macy's if I am at this mall and have a choice of where to shop. We also couldn't find something the other day and the worker was rude, but that's one person out of a lot so maybe she was having a bad day... Store is always disorganized, and the sales associates are prehistoric, so lines often build up at the very few open registers. Things are often priced wrong. Bathrooms are a disaster. Aside from being in Memorial City mall, and having a nice variety of things to shop for, this JcPenny is not really worth your time. read more

Service Hours not correct. Closes at 7pm. Lights went out in store 1 hour before actual closing time. Was told to keep shopping although we were not permitted to try on clothing due to lights issue. Very rude saleswoman. This is why pennys is having financial problems. Can't keep there shit together. read more

The brand/zone is pretty rough which is unusual for a JCPenny. Don't expect to go to directly what you're searching for but there are plenty associates available to assist. I'll give it 3 stars because the store looked pretty bad to say that they had plenty of coverage on the floor.. read more

Horrible service. Called about an item I ordered WEEKS ago and was told to call later. Called 4 hours later and was transferred 4 times then told to try later, again. I've heard nothing about the item I ordered weeks ago and thats outrageous. Ordered another item online (headboard), shipped fast, but came with a dark makeup stain on it and was not the color it showed online. Lady at the .com service desk was very understanding, but this should not have happened in the first place. Overall, would not recommend ordering anything from JCP.com! read more

Literally have been the next person in line for 15 mins. There was what looked like a manager ringing but just randomly got off instead of taking the line of customers. She left one girl to ring and she had a problem customer which she has been with for 10 mins and still with atm. When you have a line you need to attend to your line or call someone up here. So I went to try on bras in the lingerie department and there was a man and woman in the fitting room!! What the heck it was weird and not necessary!! When there is no attendant to tell them you are in a woman's only area and no leave your boyfriend outside!! I got in and out and surprise, surprise I bought NOTHING!! They only had workers checking people out that's it. So while they might have been able to help us I moved on!! Creepy and weird!! read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Ordered two mattress sets from Penneys a month ago and still not delivered. When I called into customer service to inquire about the order, I not only encountered an equally non-helpful set of agents with bad attitudes, but one of them hung up on me. This experience further illustrates why JCP is going down the tubes. This used to be my favorite store, but now I will be avoiding this place at all costs. Did not like the selection of shirts here. At the Sugar Land store I can usually walk out with lots of clothes and spending some money. I really struggled to find anything here with a great coupon and gift card. Ugh, worse JCP I've been to. read more

JC Penny is really trying hard to re-brand and re-invent the store. I even heard a TV commercial lately where they are referring to themselves as 'JCP'. I have to say, while I miss all those amazing door busters and coupons - I like the new look. It's like a Macy's - but more affordable. read more

Wonderful staff, I was in JC Penny's on Sunday, August 11th during the panic at the Memorial City Mall/Houston and must commend the staff on site. They did a wonderful job in assisting frighten shoppers and assuring our safety. My granddaughter was very traumatized by this incident, but I can assure I was impressed by the staff and how well they handled the situation. I will continue to shop at JC Penny's, however online. It will be a sometime, before my granddaughter would be able to shop in a mall again. Again, thank you to that kind lady behind the jewelry counter and the gentleman who escorted everyone out of the fitting rooms to safety. read more

I originally came in to exchange my suit coat for a different one due to a stain. After I found out there was a sale which was $20 cheaper than what I paid for 2 days ago, I also wanted a price adjustment (which is ok to do according to their rules). The cashier lady in the Men's department would not listen to me and insisted that I will only get $3 back. Obviously that does not make sense at all since the sale is $20 less. I talked to another employee, explained what happened, and they told me that cashier lady was just lazy. So I went over to the Misses department hoping I could get someone competent and caring to help me. I explained my situation to Pamela and we later found out the 1st cashier made it even worse because my suit coat was now un-returnable in the computer. Pamela was able to figure everything out and helped me without giving me any attitude or grief like the 1st cashier. I'm from California just visiting so this was more stressful since I wanted to get all of this figured out before I went back to Cali. Next time I come back to this location, which has a larger suit selection than the Sugarland location, I would happily have Pamela help me with my purchases. Even if they are simple transactions, it's hard to trust the Men's department cashier when they are just trying to get through the transaction as fast as they can without bothering to complete it correctly. I just hope there are more employees who are trained like Pamela and not like my first encounter. I have all my receipts if a manager would like to contact me for further explanations. Went into get a few things after work. The whole first floor has two registers with one person working at each. The one in women's had 10 people in line, the one in men's must have had 30+. This is ridiculous how do you expect people to shop in your stores if you won't let them check out. Dropped all my clothes off at the register and went over to Macy's.. Had issue. read more

I wish I didn't have to give a 1 star to start this review but last night me and my bf went to Macy's & JCPenney we parked front row at Macy's browsed and walked across to JCPenney. We had our items in hand and all of a sudden lights started going off we were confused but.. (typically if you were already in store and purchasing they let you continue to check out)NO two ladies approached us telling us "we're closed" we put the stuff back that we had and were walking out the store main entrance to the mall just to walk back across to Macy's. Two employees male and female were closing the doors and HAD JUST closed the last door I asked if they could please let us out as we just need to walk Across the male mumbled speaking to me and looked at the other lady and she rudely said " no, no we can't open the doors they are closed already" I told her so you want us to walk around the mall just to get to Macy's.. meaning walk around the parking lots. MIND you I am 9 months pregnant and without a care these people just walked away. We start to try and find exits and they are just closing doors closing doors I'm like how are we suppose to get out if y'all are locking us in this place!!!! Finally we seen a door not closed and we had to walk around the parking lot trying to figure out how to get back to Macy's we ended up by Dillard's! I was so in disbelief the employees were so rude and the fact that I had to walk A TON just to get to where we parked! Worst experience ever read more

Worst customer service experience ever! Came here with a group of coworkers for a photo. The sessions are 10mins apart and the staff was very rude. They told us many times that we needed to hurry up because they were closing. To top it off 2 pictures cost 100 dollars!!!!!! I like their online site and I recently ordered xlong twin sheets. I received two phone calls that my order was ready to be picked up and that I should contact someone in house wares on the 2nd floor. When I arrived there were 4 people waiting to make returns and no employees. I went to the other end of the 2nd floor to complain. They called and said that someone had come to help, by this time there are 6 people waiting, all to make returns, and the employee is taking phone calls and connecting people to the calls. So this one employee has to handle the phone, handle returns and also go to the back to look for my order. A manager came and left. I am familiar with return desks: Target and Walmart. But if they have extra traffic they can get help. This was not on a weekend, or a holiday, It was Tuesday afternoon around 2:30. I left. I will try again Friday morning. All of the employees were polite. They are just in a bad situation. read more

I love JC Penney. I can always find something if not for me, then a gift for someone. However, the dressing rooms smell horrible. I don't think a deep cleaning would do very much. They need to completely remodel the dressing rooms. The carpet in each room looks old and stained. The locks on two of the rooms I went it did not work. Other than this, I will go back but probably not try on anything, I can I can always just return it if it didn't fit right. read more

Decided to try and have my hair done at the Salon as a walk in. Was greeted in a professional and friendly way, which I very much appreciated. My specific service specifications were noted and honored.I was assigned Naomi as my Stylist, and she was fantastic! I enjoyed my visit here from start to finish, and plan on going back. Don't count out J C Penny. It has always been on of my favorite stores. Throughout the store, I noticed great sales, great merchandise selections, and friendly, helpful employees. While every employee me & my wife have dealt with there has been nice that is about where the good with this location ends. Like I said the employees have been nice but finding one that is not anchored at a register with a line a mile long is about as easy as Stevie Wonder finding Waldo in a "Where's Waldo" book. The store itself looks like a hurricane hit it. I used to work in retail and this place gives retail a bad name. There are clothes piled up everywhere, clothes laying on the floor, broken items on the shelves, I could go on & on about the shape of their sales floor. Sure you'll get the staple excuses from management about why things are in the shape they are in but it comes down to nobody cares to keep their store looking good. All of this of course makes finding anything a treasure hunt because everything is all over the place. Also, and this we found out this past week if you place a online order do not expect them to let you know it is in for that just will not happen. Other JCP locations we have been to are in no way in as bad of shape as this one, I suggest you try one of them out and avoid this hot mess of a store. read more

Extremely terrible customer service. I went in for an exchange that I had purchased at another location. I was so lost in the chaos of their boy clothing I couldn't find the jeans I needed to exchange. I asked a sales associate for help which she just rummaged around in a completely wrong area of what I was exchanging! Needless to say I gave up on the boys jeans I needed to exchange. I had my girl jeans ready to swap though and the lady in the kids dept was on the phone FOREVER so I decided to try downstairs and I asked an associate where I could go. She pointed me in a direction that led to nothing I had to circle back and find a register to which an old lady wouldn't process my exchange because I was given a discount at the original location so she was trying to have me pay FULL PRICE instead of just doing the exchange and changing to price to the discounted price I had originally received. What if i just said I didn't have the damn receipt then she would've still had to do it! What a horrible store!! read more
