REVIEW ON PORTRAIT STUDIO ONLY. We arrived on time for our appointment at 7 pm. There was a couple in front of us that was still being seen at 7, so we didnt get started until 7:45. She apologized and advised that she would get to us in a bit. We were totally okay with that, not thinking it would 50 minutes later. The store closes at 9. There was only one portrait associate, and she was completely new, with no guidance because her supervisor was on vacation and she wasn't trained on all the equipment (this is exactly what she told us right before she started taking our pictures). We had to change a few poses because she didn't know how to work the additional lights needed to do the shadowing effect. It was a maternity shoot, and I wore a flowy dress, so there were a few pictures in the package where my undergarments were showing (unbeknownst to me), and she did not advise me to adjust or anything. She even asked if she could adjust my hair, jewelry or anything at the beginning of the shoot and I told her absolutely, do whatever you need to do bc she's my eyes right now! We will now have to pay someone to edit and revise as needed, which is another expense. We had no time to review the pictures or what packages we wanted bc the store was literally closed and we hadn't even sat down to look at our options yet. She literally had to page the employees overhead at the front of the store and let them know that there were two customers still being helped in the portrait studio. If we had the time to review, we would've seen the edits that needed to be made and would've discussed them with her then. We were also told that we couldn't come at another time to review the packages and had to make a decision that night or we would lose everything, even though we were not late to our appointment and the lack of time was a JCP error. The family before us had the option to review their pictures for 45 minutes and weren't even given 5 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. The associate was sweet, but everything was completely unorganized. I blame it on the lack of staff available. Why tell people to be on time and schedule an appointment if it won't be honored? Why do the customers who pay have to be shorthanded due to lack of resources on JC Penny's end? We were going to do our newborn pictures here and decided that we will NOT be returning to pay for any portrait services due to this experience. This is the first and last time JCP will receive our money. I would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

A pretty good location, and with online shopping killing brick-and-morter store fronts, it's a luxury to be in a worthwhile, new location. The place can get a bit unorganized, but I'll still give 'em 5 stars 'cause I worked retail clothes as a teen and it ain't a walk in the park. I spent about 30 minutes in the Pennys at Alliance today and selected a robe that was marked $14.99 clearance, with a price tag. When checking out it rang up as $45. The cashier went back to check the robes and talked to an asst manager that said it was priced wrong and I could not have that price. My trust in their pricing has gone to "0". After spending my time how am I to know if they are price right or not. Obviously I did not buy it and I will never go back and tell as many people as I can. read more

Last time for shopping at JC Penney's for me! If I could give minus stars, I would. Two of the four items I had rang up with higher prices than on the tag or on the sign above the item in the store. The manager approved the correct price on the tag, but said that in order to get the sale price on the shoes, I would have to walk back to the shoe department with my cashier to prove the price. Really! I do not work there. When I refused and said I did not want the shoes, the manager insinuated that I was trying to do something shady. I have been a Penney's credit card holder for almost 50 years, but will never shop there again. read more

As promised - I'm updating this review to 4 stars. I went in the other week and the smell has been fixed. The building is till under renovation so who knows if it will return (I'll update again if it does) but thank you for fixing the smell! ****************************************************** I really don't like giving bad reviews, but I have to say something about this store. It smells. Literally. You walk in the door, and you are literally hit with a very thick strong mixture of B.O. and what I can only describe as burnt hair. I have been to the store several times over several months and it existed each time. The actual store itself appears clean and organized. The staff is kind and courteous, but man...If you have a sensitive nose. Stay away. If the smell ever gets fixed, I will gladly update this to a 4 star review. read more

This location of JCP is clean. The employees at the registers, and jewelry are always friendly and helpful. (Of course they are, they can not go anywhere.) The floor associates, when you find them are nice and will help if they can. Most of the time, however, they are harder to find. The floor associates will respond to you once you approach them, but I have yet to be approached by them to check on if I needed any help. I like the selections JCP offers in all the departments, I just think in general the "customer service" aspect of shopping has changed, and what I knew when working retail is no longer the way of doing business. For this reason they did not get the fifth star. Why have brick and mortar if you do not have customer service! read more

Walked around for 30 minutes or more with a arms full of clothes. No one offered to help get a room or anything. Instead a group of them all stood around discussing their Christmas and how they were going to ask for a raise. Finally asked for a room and they just pointed to the back and was like it's back there and you can't take all of that in there. I came into the store today and was met with a friendly upbeat saleswoman named Louisa. She was super kind, beyond helpful and had a great attitude. Then I came across another sales woman who was equally kind and helpful in another department of the store. I have not experienced customer service like this in such a long time. It's so refreshing to meet people who actually care about their job. I highly recommend this location and will tell anyone I know to shop here. read more

I visited this JCP while visiting some friends in town for the race. On the bright side,there were two managers standing at the door to greet you-nice! A very distinct musk greeted us as well and it was all throughout the store. We attempted to walk the entire store thinking maybe it was just at the entrance. This is, by far, the nicest JCP I have ever been in. I used to like JCP but was turned off by the stores feeling crowded, disorganized, and at some locations - feeling somewhat dirty. However, I have been in this store several times and I really like it. It's a large store with a great home goods selection. The clothing selection is great here, too. The store is clean, bright, and well organized. Bonus: There is a Sephora inside :) read more

One of my fav locations. Easy to get into and the staff is really helpful and friendly. Plus if you look for coupons you can really save here. My only complaint is that they divide the Online with the In-Store. So you are getting two experiences. I couldn't find the size I wanted so I asked to order it, I guess I could have just gone home and done it online. So then I had to go to the back of the store and deal with like a separate store that has different rules on pricing and coupons, etc... The guy there helped me out but said they normally can't. So for me that's confusing. Otherwise, great layout, everything you can find in the mall versions and much easier to get into and get what you want. I'm a huge fan of their cloths and other products as well. It's not top brand or anything but beats Walmart/Target quality so I'm happy. Hope this helps! **THIS REVIEW IS REGARDING THE PORTAIT STUDIOS INSIDE THIS JCPENNEY** I came here for my son's newborn pictures back in April 2019 and they turned out amazing! Everything about the experience was great. Didn't wait long at all, the photographer was so sweet and really did so amazing at keeping my newborn still and calm. Also went in November 2019 and same experience all wonderful. But then this last month at the end of January 2020, we went in for just random photos I wanted to get again of him since I was so happy before. We got there on time to our 4:15 appointment and waited 45 minutes because they said they were running behind. Keep in mind they closed at 5:00 that day. Finally, once they took us back we discussed the type of photos of my baby I wanted and backgrounds. They starting setting up things up and the back drop was dirty there were marks you could clearly see and she didn't bother to clean it off. She was taking his photos and missing every good shot of him smiling. She seemed to be rushing and just careless about how they were turning out. The previous photographers got so many great shots and really knew how to work the camera and this girl seemed like she didn't know how to shoot fast enough to get the good shots. Then at the end she shows us maybe about 13 photos and they were ALL awful. He wasn't looking in any when there were plenty moments during the session I saw him smiling and laughing. You could see the dirt and marks on the background. The quality looked awful. Everything was just terrible and I was so frustrated and upset. The entire experience made me not want to go back honestly. I used to recommend so many people here for pictures and now I will not because I don't want them to have the last experience I had. read more

My wife and I were blessed with our 4th child a month ago. We decided to have some family pictures taken this past Saturday, September 23rd. The picture package was a bit more than I expected , $250 but felt it was worth it since our children are younger. After the pictures were done, my wife paid using her debit card. Tammie said the card wasn't accepted and to try again. This happened 2 more times and the card supposed wasn't reading properly. Tammie suggested trying my card and it wasn't read properly either...magically it worked this time. Afterwards, I took my family to lunch and by then my bank account was debited 4 times! 3 times from my wife's card and 1 from mine. We called back to jcpenney and their response was they would have to call a manager and that there was nothing they can do. It's been 4 days now and we are still out all this money. Today their response was that they only see 1 transaction because there was only 1 receipt. Very poor customer service and they obviously do not care if they steal your money! read more
