Expansive with a wide selection and extremely organized. I was in need of pjs for my (not so) baby sis and their selection was perfect. Plus the staff was super friendly! The only downside were the super long lines and limited registers. read more

What happened to JC Penny ? This morning when I popped in for those last minute items for school aged children , I was appalled , no wonder JC Penny is soon to be out , as in another big time retailer buying the dust , or so I hear. Seriously , what has happened to the salesperson of old who actually cared about the customer and the condition of their store . 1. Counters are a mess and covered with merchandise that should be on the shelves 2.Hangers are all over the place 3.The impulse buy racks are not stocked , and merchandise is clearly missing from the packages that are there . 4. For a line of approx 14 people there are 2 registers open ... seriously??!! Now all the good old stores are employed with a bunch of long nail wearing, gum cracking, phone checking, attuide bearing "I wish I was doing something else " salespeople . No pride ! That is the problem ! But alas they are not the only ones to blame , clearly their employers and managers do not enforce positive work behavior , FIRE THEM ALL. Start fresh , give bonuses to those that exceed and do well have company building exercises. Put some pride back , if it's this bad now can you think how it will be in 10 years from now . So thank you , or should I say NO THANK YOU JC Penny , I will be shopping elsewhere . PS: The 2 stars is for the Manager , that helped me when the cashier screwed up my purchase and over charged me . read more

The WORST Sephora. Rude customer service and their policies do not respect Sephora's--your JCPenney receipt will give you so many problems if you try to return or exchange an item. read more

I bought something at sephora in the city and came to return it here they did not take back any of my 4 items stating that they didn't carry any of the brands. Was very disappointing. Customer service wasn't great at all, mean looking sales associates. read more

I visited the photo studio there within a month of their grand opening. We took family pics and pics of the kids individually. When we were done and deciding which pics we want to select, the family pics were not on the memory card. The photographers response: "that's too bad". We can redo the whole thing if you want. Are you kidding? Go get the kids to cooperate for another 20 minute session. Very dissatisfied with the photo department. read more

My mother is shopping so i just went into sephora. I love make up with a passion..i just never have time for it. The selection was great. All my favorite brands. I cant complain. I just love sephora with a passion read more

Went there to buy my father work pants and dress pants and I come to find out that they only carry sizes for short over weight people . Amazing that they literally did not have a single pair of pants to fit a 6'2 man . I am mind boggled . Not even kidding , they did not carry pants for a man over 5'6. Pathetic . I know very well I wasn't in the little boys department . Counted on this place and it was just a disappointment. Not only that, after realizing they didn't have anything for my father, I figured I would look for a shirt for myself. Every single shirt there is so outdated in the women's department . They need a serious upgrade . read more

Poor customer service. Hey never answer the phone and when they do have the most attitude ever.

What to say? It's a Penney's. I haven't been inside a Penney's since I was 9 years old, but seriously- wow. It was pristine and well-organized and every single staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. I'm not kidding, it was by far the cleanest store with the nicest staff I've dealt with in a long, long time. read more

One of the new stores just added to Gateway Center. I have no complaints so far. Everyone seems friendly and excited to work here. I hope that energy continues in this location. It's still new so I'll definitely revisit this review in another month or so with an updated version. read more

I used to love this store. They were conveniently opened late, was well stocked and very organized. Did I say "used to"?!??! This place is now a wreck!! Stuff is all over the place, no organization and no one to help!!! What the devil happened? If I wanted TJ Maxx I would go there! UUUGGHHH!!! Now I've got to find another late night store! #JCP GET IT TOGETHER!!! read more

Customer service is good their very helpful but they never have the new releases in stock I end up traveling to another location anyway.Such a big waste of time read more

Waited 30 minutes for Avril to help me apply for a jcp credit card and she was very inattentive, kept walking away to help customers that were already getting help, gave me and my mother an attitude because she doesn't speak English very well. We were also trying to buy a refrigerator off of the clearance section and another employee came to help us. She was very nice, she said she would be right back, but never came so Avril took over again. The girl told us we would have to pay 549.00 then Avril told us our total was 707.00. My mom told Avril about this and she did not believe her. She kept insisting that what my mother was saying was not true. After 2 hours of waiting, we decided to not buy anything and left. Customer service is the worst throughout the whole store. The employees in Sephora were also rude. read more

I will never shop at this store in particular ever again.I went to buy some items on Black Friday.I knew that the lines were going to be long so that wasn't a problem. The problem that I did have was that the store manager for that evening told my relative and I to get on a shorter line that he directed us to. At first we were very happy...only to realize that the so called line wasn't a short line. The system kept going down so many customers including my relative and I had a hard time electronically purchasing our items. The manager was called over by the sales associate and he acted like he was too busy to come assist her.I was in this store for fourty-five minutes to an hour.I honestly wanted to walk out and leave my items there but the items I had was for my sick grandmother. The cashier almost got a tongue lashing as well because he kept trying to ring up higher prices on items when the price was already adjusted by another cashier that we saw before him.Once the systems were back up I began to leave the line and head for the door. The manager was standing close to the door but began to move away rapidly so that I couldn't see his name on his shirt. I was so annoyed, tired, and disgusted. By the way on a busy evening like that....the line I was on had only five registers open and by the time I got to a register it decreased to two or three. There was a lack of organization, compassion, respect, and most of all CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! read more

**This review is for the Sephora inside of Jcpenney** Having worked in retail previously, I seriously try to be the best customer/ patron/ guest ever. That means not trying to give salespeople a hard time, looking for shit myself, not making a mess, not asking obvious questions and most of all reading. I stopped in here around 7pm and needed ONE product that wasn't on the shelf. It was only about 3 other people in the store. I asked the one girl on the floor for assistance, she said she was helping someone and would get back to me. 10 minutes later and said customer is nowhere around. I notice the sales girl doing putbacks and ask her to help me once again while she looked at me like a deer in headlights. I finally get what I'm looking for and the cashier at the counter is grumpy as hell. I could understand if I had slid under the gate around closing and made you open ya register again but damnn it was only 7:00pm lol read more

We had an appointment for photos for 3:20 and called in to say we are gonna be there in 10 minutes. The guy says OK no problem. We show up about 10-15 minutes late and the place is mobbed. We stand on line for about ten minutes wait out turn to sign in. By now it's 3:42 so they we get checked in. Everyone is waiting as it takes time and people keep in coming saying when their appointment is. About 4:15 my wife asked the guy about how long is the wait he said at least an hour. So we come back an hour later and the tell us there are four people in front of us so we wait a little longer. 5:40 we realise that most people who came after us took their photos already so I asked him where going on? He tells me that first the people that came on time even two hours after us are going in before us because they came on time!! So I pointed out that is not running in time anyway if we would be there 3:20 we would still have to wait as is the norm when people take photos. But the guy wouldn't budge, we close at 8:00 and there are definitely people who will go in after you but I can't guarantee you'll go in. So we left and cancelled online. Five minutes later the lady called us as I'm typing this post asking if we are still taking photos and tells me there are three people waiting in front of us. We wasted our entire afternoon and no pictures so do yourself a favor and don't go to this disorganized location and waste your time. read more

The staff here is extremely friendly and willing to help which isn't always the case at the Gateway center mall. I don't usually shop at JC Penney but since they opened up last summer I find myself stopping in often. I love that they have a sephora inside. The sales are amazing and I can always find additional coupons online as I was told by a staff member. The store is always clean and the fitting rooms are always available. read more

The actual JC Penny store is cool. The photo studio is also pretty good. Got some nice photos there. However, STAY AWAY from the Sephora there. They have horrible customer service. I went there on my birthday for my free birthday gift. The cashier refused to give it to me because she claimed she could not find me in there system. Even though I had the email on my phone with my rewards info. Then basically said everyone was too busy right now to help me. So I walked out because I didn't want a bad experience to spoil my day. Went all the way to Queens Center mall and had a much better experience. Got my free gift, a mini makeover for my birthday. And because of the great service, ended up buying all the products they used on me. I will never go back to the Sephora in Gateway mall. They need training! read more

This store seems to prefer hiring ill mannered associates who seems to have issues dealing with customers in a respectable manner. My last experience involved an online order--I ordered men's boots...went to pick it up and they handed me a pair of women's dress/evening shoes. I informed the associate that it was not what I ordered, and the only thing the associate could do was cancel the order, so he did. I then contacted customer service via phone, and was told that it was a mix-up at the warehouse and since they no longer have it in stock there was nothing they could do. JCPenny is not a place to waste your time and money, they deserve to be in the trouble they're in, maybe they'll close soon so a more reputable business can replace them. read more

Recently went here for photos. Photos and everything came out very nice actually but we waited maybe 45 minutes which doesn't even seem necessary to have a wait that long because once you get the photos taken it's like your out the room 5 minutes later. Everyone there is in a rush but yet there still not good with time idl it doesn't make much sense to me. The photographers are good and friendly as for the guy at the front desk not so much. read more

Jcp sephora won't give me samples of the powder I wanted. Even though the first time of business the owner told the to give out samples. After awhile the workers started to steel the samples. And they never gave samples to anyone. If you were to go to any other Jcp you would get samples, and they take to long at the cash register read more

I had a great experience with the photographers in the photo studio. They really know how to get great shots.
