    This place has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Who cares about the way this place looks and how modern and clean and new it is when the Customer service is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional! Carter and his coworker were so rude and nasty to for no reason. They had a horrible attitude didn't want to help me and apparently had absolutely no knowledge on any merchandise. I was looking for a vacuum cleaner. Then they said because they didn't know anything that they would call DeShawn who is the supervisor to come and assist me with a vacuum cleaner. Well 15 minutes later, no DeSean. . I walk over the jewelry department to look for the store manager well no store manager today . But the girl in jewelry insisted on knowing what was wrong so I told her . And lo and behold there's Carter walking by and she calls him over . He rudely says to me I told you that I called the supervisor for you . I said well you don't have to me do Rude to me. I will be sending an email to Corporate!

    A hidden find in the Gateway Mall. The store is located towards the back section of the mall; at the far end from belt parkway. Clean, spacious, and organized. The store is the usual JCP; it has a return center with separate lines for store and online purchases. I came here on a Sunday morning and the store was empty. Lines were short; no waiting. Large parking lot in front of store with spaces reserved for pickups and expecting mothers.

    I ordered a shirt on JCPENNY website on a Thursday and a delivery date of the following Tuesday. On Saturday, 2 days later I look up status to show an order date 2 days later (that same Saturday). JCPENNY didn't send me a notification about it resulting in the delivery being well past the original delivery date (3+ days more). I call to cancel the order yet Luis says I can only cancel order 30 mins after my order was placed. Even though JCPENNY's records reflect a order date the same date as my call (Saturday), they couldn't honor my request. This is not the first time JCPENNY has lied to attract customers. I will never shop at JCPENNY again and will be posting my story on social media!

    My grandmother and I made a trip to this location just yesterday in the hopes of picking up some comforter sets, towels and maybe shop around for some other things while we were there. She gets the booklet in the mail to notify her of the sales and that woman LOVES a sale! She saw that they were having $39.99 comforter sets for black friday, but wasn't sure if the sale would be extended after since we had spent time away for the holiday. Well, we go browsing and we find two separate comforter sets listed at $49.99, all sizes and pick up two, one for her and one for myself. I'll post a photo so you all can see. We make it to the register and the cashier shares with us that they are $79.99 each and I tell her that that is not what the sign said where we found them. She calls over her manager I assume and she goes to check for herself. She comes back with a sign that states "$49.99 for twin/twinXL and 79.99 for queen, 89.99 for king" saying that this is why it's priced that way. I told her that's not the sign that we saw and walk back to the section myself to show her what we are talking about. I take a picture and I also bring the sign with me to the register to show her and when I get there the first thing she says to me is "what are you doing with my signs?" with an elevated tone. I say to her that I am not trying to argue, just sharing with you what we saw and I also showed her the picture I took to show where we found the comforter because she then said "where did you find this sign?". I told her that we would not have picked up these comforters if they weren't listed at the single price because we came here for that sale and my grandmother reiterated the same thing that I said. The woman, EBONY, was very rude and didn't try to help us at all and instead continued to raise her voice about the signs and said "it's $79.99 take it or leave it" VERY RUDELY! I work in retail myself as a manager and I know that if signage is posted incorrectly it's not the customers fault and we have to honor that! Also, she didn't care about the picture or anything we had to say, she was more upset over the sign and being proved wrong than wanting to help us. Very bad customer service I think especially considering I ALSO DO THIS for a living. EBONY doesn't need to be in the position that she is in if she isn't willing to have a calm conversation with customers. My grandma shared with me after that she was also making snide remarks when I had walked away and I just do not appreciate that as a shopper. And they also don't answer their phones as I tried to call and complain many times. I'm not one to usually do this but I seriously do not appreciate the unnecessary rudeness from someone like EBONY! Shame on her and shame on this location for allowing incompetence.

    The Sephora inside JC Penny's is nice. The staff was friendly including security. Chris was very welcoming and helpful. He made me a Beauty Insider Customer and give me free samples. I also got my House of Lashes adhesive! Also, there was about a 3 minute wait on the line, they were maintaining the social distance recommendations for the pandemic protection.

    Finally, we don't have to go all the way out to Roosevelt Field! My mom LOVES JC Penny. She was depressed when they discontinued the catalogs and told her she had to shop online. My mom is 68 and stuck in her ways, she's not going to learn how to shop online, hell she refuses to learn how to check her voicemail on her iPhone! When we walked in the security guard was very nice and greeted us. The first place we stopped was Sephora. Finally I don't have to go all the way to the city! Found my favorite perfume that I've been looking for for ages. Then we walked around the perimeter of the store. She found some stuff, I found some stuff. She had a 10 minute conversation with the associate in the curtain section Threatened to beat up another associate trying to leave for the day, you know typical old people shit. While walking around this associate in bedding greeted us. He saw the Sephora bag in the cart. Him: "Hey ladies, I see you bought some makeup." Me: "No, it's just perfume." Him: "I see you guys are into that natural look, keep it up." Me: "Yeah, I'm too lazy for makeup anyway." Not gonna lie he was kind of creepy. Appreciate the compliment though. They need to make the aisles in-between the clothes bigger. Kept having to leave the shopping cart behind because it didn't fit. No one in the shoes department asked us if we needed help, they were too busy trying on shoes for themselves & having their own conversation. The cashiers were very nice and pleasant too. The same security told us good night when we left. Pretty sure we'll be back, since my mom freaking loves JC Penny & she didn't buy her damn curtains that time.

    I love this store and I'm glad that it opened up in my neighborhood. Great selection of clothing for everyone. There is always a sale going on.......anyone that knows me know that I love sales. I love this store even more because of the fact that Sephora also shares its space.

    The lines are ridiculously slow. The store is a mess. Only come here because it's 5 minutes off the Belt. Try to avoid if possible.
