I got a great cut but the stylist had attitude. After she gave me the mirror to look at the end cut. I wanted an extra layer but couldn't explain really what I wanted ( it was a face frame with a whisky look). After the final layers she just walked away and left cuttings all over my face, and said I'll wait for you at the counter, while I was dusting off my face. This review is for the salon. I had an appointment, showed up promptly at noon and was told my stylist was leaving early and there was no one else there who could do my hair. This was my first time at this location. How unprofessional! One would think I would be offered something for the inconvenience, but no! She told me I could reschedule, but she hadn't even attempted to see when the next availability would be. I'm not sure why someone scheduled my appointment at a time that wasn't realistic, but the stylist Tina should have called me prior to me showing up to let me know she wouldn't be able to do my hair so that I would have time to get in somewhere else! I definitely will not be returning. They need to get their act together. read more

I really like this sephora. Its pretty small compared to many others but packed with alot of great things all the same without competing with a large crowd for staff attention. Speaking of the staff , they have always been so pleasant to deal with and willing to give a sample if you are a "try before investing" person when unsure like I am. I always make sure I come back here to purchase when if I love the product which I usually do. I also love the convenience of it all in terms of location. not busy at all, no mall to walk in, right inside the front entrance at JcPenney next to Target in southpark meadows. I used to always shop at ulta for convenience until I discovered this sephora. Also skincare products definitely seem superior in Sephora which is a big bonus. Love my farmacy and Peter Thomas Roth skincare. Also Bday gifts to customers are always awesome. Silly I know, but worth mentioning. A shame I had this negative experience with their online shipping and service. Ordinarily, I shop in store and have always had a good experience, and am usually very pleased with the sales and coupon offers for great deals. But, I ordered a blazer/ jacket for an upcoming wedding for the first time through JCPenney.com, with shipping to and pick up in store. The jacket never arrived after a follow up email stating it was enroute. It was supposed to arrive with 7 business days, but two weeks later: no jacket. When I called the store dotcom staff first, they said to call back three days later to check. On the second call, the staff stated the jacket purchase never arrived in store, blamed it on UPS delivery, and immediately moved to crediting me a refund. No explanation, no apology for the inconvenience...just a matter of fact attitude that this is the way it is and I'd be refunded so I could move on...definitely what it felt like. Easy to blame UPS, easy to refund a purchase...what's hard apparently is taking responsibility, and caring about your customer's needs and concerns. read more

DO NOT GO TO THE SALON here! My experience with one of the staff members is that she is young and inexperienced. While I was waiting, she had to redo a side burn for a young man because the mother wanted more cut off. When it my turn, she acted like she wasn't sure what I wanted when I asked for purple highlights. She told me they would fade within a couple of weeks and I would have to be charged for a partial again if I came back to have them redone. She acted as if I was an inconvenience and that she really didn't want to do the highlights in the first place. I wasted 25 minutes of my time. read more

A little over a week ago I went to the Salon to get my hair highlighted. I didn't have an appointment so I called and asked if they could fit me in and I was told to come right on over. I get there and was ignored by the two people at the front counter; one was with a customer but the other didn't acknowledge me at all. A girl walked up from behind the wall and asked if I needed anything. I asked for the "stylist" with whom I'd spoken with when I called. After that the service was ok, the "stylist" was friendly. There was a lot of banter back and forth with the staff (it was kind of obnoxious though). I'm all for co-workers getting along and having a good time at work but this was just annoying; yelling across the salon to each other while they could have tried building some report with their clients would have been nice. Maybe, just maybe then I would've gotten what I asked for and showed her (a pic of myself that first time I went there and got the same thing I was asking for this time). I left unhappy because I was not pleased with how my highlights came out (or didn't come out). In past experiences when I had expressed that I was not happy with the results a couple of stylists had some reason why the color didn't take and would not try to fix it. I don't like conflict so I decided that I would just go home looking the way I did. my "blonde" highlights were orange, my hair was so dry and it still smelled of products even after several washes. I am a single mom with one income so every penny counts and it takes a lot for me to go out and spend money on myself. I feel like I've wasted money there. well a couple of days go by and I couldn't stand it. I called in and spoke with the Manger Yoli who asked me to come in later that week so that she could take a look at my hair and work with the "stylist" and get this fixed for me. So that made me feel better until... I get there at the scheduled time asked for the manager who never came out. The "stylist" came out and told me that she wouldn't be ready for at least another half hour (what's the point of setting up an appointment?). Once she was ready for me she takes me to her chair and says "I don't understand what the issue is? I thought you wanted blonde highlights? I mean you're hair is dark so it won't always take.". I also mentioned how she completely missed a spot that I told her was the main spot I wanted the highlights and her response was " oh yeah I noticed that when you were here the other day". (I felt like yelling ARE YOU KIDDING ME? but I didn't.) Not once did she apologize for me not being happy with her work. She just kept bringing up the fact that I have dark hair. She tried to make conversation a couple of times but I really felt like she was annoyed with having to do it over and she was rushing. It was really awkward. I showed her the pictures again and all though out she kept asking to look at it again. I didn't think it was that hard considering I have been there before and to get blonde highlights and got the results I wanted. I love having dark hair with a few highlights in it so that's what I always ask for. This woman slapped all kinds of bleach on my hair and now my hair looks orangey brown with lighter highlights on it. The colors don't blend well at all and parts of it looks like when its time to get it redone because you see your roots.(it looks like my first attempt to do my own highlights when I was in high school using that plastic cap you pulled your hair through). Needless to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! Its too bad the stylist Jeffery that did my hair the first time no longer works there because he was amazing. So amazing that when he did my hair I had black dye in it and he still got the vibrant blonde highlights I asked for. read more

I scheduled a session one evening for my family which includes a 19 month old and a 2 month old. Getting everyone clean, dressed, fed, napped and happy is quite a task and took a couple of hours of preparation. We got there and the girl seemed clueless. It took her a good 15-20 minutes just to get the background set. Then she told me she had never photographed a baby before and wasn't sure how to pose her. I had to inform her that the baby would need to be held, propped or placed in something. It turns out she didn't know how to pose anyone else either or which props to use. My husband and I had to try to pose everyone which is one of the main reasons why we wanted to have our pictures taken by an experienced photographer instead of taking the pictures ourselves with our cannon. My husband kept requesting that she take additional pictures because he didn't feel we were getting good ones, but she would insist she was getting good ones. It is hard to get a 19 month old to pose and when they do you have to be quick on the trigger, but she was always 10 seconds behind. She also didn't know how to work with kids or try to get their attention. When the kids were over it after about 10 minutes of actual pictures it took her another 20 minutes to upload the photos (which you have to wait for in order to choose the pictures you want and use any coupons you may have). When we finally got to view them there was not one we liked or thought was somewhat decent. Posing was terrible and she obviously didn't know how to work the lighting. She said that she didn't know what to do if we didn't select any pictures and said that she would have to call her manager (she was the only employee there). After waiting another 15-20 minutes for her to talk to her manager on the phone she came back and said that we could just go and the manager would call us the next day. It has now been 3 weeks and guess what? No call from the manager. I haven't bothered calling them because I really don't want to waste any more of my time and I can't think of anything they could do at this point to make it better. I wouldn't want to waste my time going back for a second try. I'm not sure how they vet their photographers but this girl was obviously new and not an experienced photographer. They either need to do additional training or have someone there with her. Unfortunately I can't remember her name, but at this point I wouldn't really feel comfortable with anyone there. read more

Can I give less than one star?! Haven't been to a JCP in years, and thought I might give it a try since I was looking for basic things like towels. Horrible and rude cashier who didn't even greet us or smile. I think her name was Maria. She really needs some basic customer service training. It wasn't even busy and she pretended to be "busy" by folding clothing the previous customer in line didn't buy. Then she walked away from her register for several minutes before coming back to her station (she was the only cashier at the time). She also made sarcastic under the breath comments that I couldn't quite decipher. Will NEVER go back to this location, if I ever go back to any JCP at all. BTW, quality of items is low as well. I'll be glad to pay more for better quality items and not be treated this way. I've never experienced this kind of horrendous service at any similar department store. If you hate your job so much, find another job! read more

Jc penny SALON SOUTHPARK had a very BAD experience! I went in for foil highlights and a came out with damaged, over processed hair. After several hours was in need of serious toning down..didn't talk me theough the process (uh correcting-pigment!). You are at their mercy and when they juggle more than one person at a time you trust you will be taking care of..they supposedly are professionals who know what they are doing, right? WRONG!! I left there 3 hours later with unhappy results! In a rush had to leave with damp hair. To my dismay, when it dried completely, saw the damage! Spoke with Yolanda the manager and she was very cold and unsympathetic.. She said I needed to come in and look at it, like she didn't believe me. Had a wedding to go to and went to have it corrected elsewhere ..highlights are an expensive investment, so you deserve the time and attention you pay for! Try penny's at Barton Creek, MUCH better experience! read more

This last Saturday (1/2/16) I had a 2:45pm hair appt scheduled with Jennifer at the JCPenney in Southpark Meadows. I've been to her once before, as she was recommended by a co-worker, and I was happy with her, so I returned. When I arrived (on time), young girl at the front went to tell Jennifer, who brushed her off and shook her head "no." Young lady came back and told me Jennifer was running late because she had just accepted a walk-in, and was already applying foil to her hair. Then asked if SHE could take my appt, or reschedule me with Jennifer for after 5:00pm. I told her I was not confident about scheduling a later appointment with Jennifer, as she obviously is not someone who honors her commitments. I also didn't want anyone new working on my hair as it's curly, and difficult to cut the way I like. The three young ladies at the front were nice and helpful, but Jennifer NOT ONCE came over to address me (and she's stationed right behind the young ladies' reception area), nor did she offer explanation or apology. She left the young ladies to deal with an unhappy customer, and had no care or respect for me or my time. Terrible customer service. read more
